I am trying to Hitchhike Around The Globe. I literally want to circumnavigate the planet without using any means of public transportation.
From my hometown Tübingen in Germany I will hitchhike through Europe looking for an opportunity to help out on a private sailing boat to cross the Atlantic to the Caribbean and Central America.
From there I have to catch another boat over the vast Pacific ocean in order to reach the Asian continent to complete my journey by hitchhiking back to my hometown in Germany.

I couldn’t agree more, imagine the joy we’re all going to feel soon, we would never have this appreciation of it wasn’t for the experiences of the last 12 months. I lost my mother during these times but I’m thankful I’m here and more grateful for the time I now have. Hey Jojo! It's just a few days since I came across your channel and I'm totally blown away by your honesty, positive mind, way of thinking and generally by your personality. Lot of words and, mainly, lot of thoughts "behind" these words you express in this video are so similar to mine. I've spend every year during the last 6 years at least 2 months hitchhiking across the Europe, in 2019 already with my fiancée who's keen on these things just like your Erica is. Lockdown made us both really depressed as we had to postpone all the travel plans we had for 2020, but even though the situation in the Czech Republic is basically still worse, we can see a light at the end of this tunnel and we are slowly but surely planning another adventure for this year. Your channel made me resemble lot of awesome encounters of generous people around every corner of Europe and more importantly - your videos had awaken a new desire for an adventure somewhere deep in my soul. Thanks for that from the very bottom of my heart. :-) Because I'm trying to be as honest as you are in your videos, I just want to say that there was one moment I wasn't so happy and this was your comment on waring masks. As I already have so many people who got really terribly ill and even those, who died of COVID-19, I consider wearing masks as the most acceptable minimum we have to do to overcome this pandemic. But I'm pretty sure your opinion on the whole thing is generally very similar to mine, so... that's not an offense, blame or reproach.
So... THANKS so much for your content and I will very probably become one of your fellow-adventurous-patreon in next few hours. :-) I just need to breathe in and out, and somehow process all the thoughts your videos have given me.

I love her Grandmother so much. I miss mine. As they've both been gone for a long time now. I was only close to one of them. But I would love a few more minutes with either of them. I feel like you two being there is such a good thing for her too. I can see she's enjoying your company. Even if she may not always like your food. 🤣 🤣 🤣
You're similar to me in many ways. When it comes to feeling free. What I've found over the years (I'll be 49 in about a month) is that it matters if it's my choice, or not. And it matters if I have control over my movements or not. What I mean is that here in the states, it's very hard to not have a car, especially where I live. So for me. I have to have ready access to a vehicle. Preferably my own. Decades ago, before I had my own car. I was constantly frustrated. My bike just wasn't enough, because I like to travel. Not crazy far, but I like to go to the capital city, and other shopping areas, which are all 20 to 40 miles away, or so. And to get there. You have to use the highway, or you did back then. Now there's bike paths fortunately.
And I'm the same way with religion, and such. No thank you. But I've no problem enjoying this time at home right now. Because I chose to do so anyway. For me, my freedom is my fancy HiFi setup. I don't watch TV normally (I own one, but it's covered with stuff right now, and I usually only watch music videos on it anyway. Although I occasionally go through Sci Fi withdrawal, and need to watch some 😊), but I can enjoy music for hours. Because it's set up the way I like it to be, and it sounds amazing. So it's quite different then like a car stereo, or something like that. It's like a brand new HDR 4k TV compared to a black and white set from the Soviet Union Era.
And I chose to do this before there was ever any covid. So for me, it's no effect really. I'm not doing anything very differently then I would be anyway. If I choosed another life, like yours maybe. I would likely be very frustrated right now. So think to yourself. Would you choose to be there with her anyway, even if there were no covid? If not. That's a bit of a problem.
But it's possible to overcome these feelings. If you can get yourself to accept that this is actually a very special time, and although you didn't choose it yourself. Sometimes those things work very well. Like arranged marriages. Did you know they're actually more successful, then regular ones? Sometimes we don't always make the best choices for ourselves anyway. And maybe you'll look back at this, and realize you needed the break anyway. And it was just what was needed to give you the drive to follow through on your mission.
Even though I'm not religious. I like to believe that things happen for a reason, and that good things happen to good people. The opposite for bad people. And you're a good person. So just go along for the ride, and see where it takes you. But try to enjoy it along the way, like you are with the meditation. I think you're already dealing with it the best way, so keep it up. But remember. You don't really know what's best for you now. You'll only know later. So try to assume this is the best for you now, or at least close to it, and maybe you'll stop having these feelings. And be sure to get plenty of sleep. That's when our brains process all these things, and it's very much needed in such times as these. Good luck. ✌️
I should add. I work 5 days a week, and I drive around for my work. So I have plenty of freedom myself, but there was a 2 month, or so, period where that wasn't so. And I was in lock down too. That drove me crazy too, especially since my HiFi wasn't nearly as nice at it is now, which makes a big difference to me personally.
Anyway. I highly recommend that you try to find anything you can do to be out, and about. If that's possible there. Maybe even volunteer to help with gardening, or something like that. I think it would help your mental state a lot. It does for me. I have to be working, or doing something at least 4 days a week, or so. Then, and only then, can I really enjoy my time to rest, and relax. We need a purpose in life as humans. I feel that we do anyway. ✌️

Beautiful message thank you! 😊 This invites one to wonder once more. I always think about the fine line betweem living purely in spirit and living only in dry reality. It seems to me that experiencing only in spiritual ways can be as incomplete as only experiencing the solid reality around us. I think one must find a path in the middle not to loose touch of either side, unless wants to have such an experience. 😊
You’re right, the freedom has to be inside you, otherwise it will never be enough... I think we have to learn that we are only in control of ourselves, not the rest, but it takes experience and lots of meditation maybe! I took a gap year to finally do a big dream trip I was so excited about... and I’ve been waiting for 5 months now at home in Portugal, it’s so frustrating not knowing when it will possible!..

Jojo , someone once said to me that we are spirits having a human moment. I believe that since. It makes sense if you are meditating There is all sort of reasons why human life does not add up. Hey my friend! You are right I am after all more lucky as fuck than ever before. But still, freedom is an important and interesting topic that I want to explore more. More and more I see life in experiences, and more and more even in situations that feel strange and bad at first, I have the thought "Well that is a interesting experience, I wonder how this will turn out." and the moment becomes a small and somethimes exciting adventure to experience. 😄

What interests me the most is the mystery of a universal spirituality which is not institutionalized like religions, and does not provide answers but raises more questions. 😊 Also the rules and dogmas of religions dont seem to give the one who practises them endless possibilities to discover new truths and magic. 🌱
Life can be pretty simple, we just make it complicated. If life were cards id say youve been dealt a really good hand ! Live in the "now" is a really good philosoply, stick to that.
