2023.07.04 Our 2023 garden project making Self Irrigating Raised Bed Planters

Our 2023 project for a backyard was is to make raised bed planters. I have made 6 raised bed planters here. They are made with the concept of being self irrigating. The self irrigating concept is to put a water impenetrable layer underneath the raised bed and fill it with water as a reservoir for the water to wick up through the soil to the plants above. I believe this to also be a water conservation project. As the water does not seep down into the ground and lost to groundwater. And for those of us that are not good at remembering to water our plants this is a reservoir of water for watering the plants when we forget. #raisedbeds #selfirrigatingplanter
