SpongeBob you're fired is definitely an episode in SpongeBob, it explores an idea and executes it. The writing is certainly writing and I think the episode is an episode
SpongeBob, You’re Fired is definitely an episode from Season 9 I definitely remember. I like how SpongeBob tries to get other jobs after getting fired, even though all he knows how to make are Krabby Patties. Granted, he started off his unemployment as sad and depressed, but he always has that optimism in the end.
He previously also tried working other jobs to becoming a cleaning sponge product in a commercial after he thought Mr. Krabs was letting him go in Model Sponge
That would have been a funny twist. However I think he was probably thinking "Heck no" after the time Plankton won him in a card game and took his brain out of him. XD

It's times like this Spongebob needs better friends in his life. Patrick is nothing more than an unnecessary waste of space and one dumb mistake from starting a fight.
Last time Jason guessed correctly that Spongebob was the owner of Flabby Patty. This time it was Chance who guessed that Squidward was the burger mascot.
Out of all the episodes of this show that people say are bad, “SpongeBob, You’re Fired!” is the one episode that I actually consider to be a truly bad episode because of how boring, pointless, and predictable the plot is. With every other “bad” episode, those episodes are at least bad in an interesting way like One Coarse Meal, A Pal for Gary, Pet Sitter Pat, etc. that make you wonder “how did SpongeBob go from being a lighthearted comedy show to having episodes about suicide and animal abuse?”, and those episodes are at least fun to talk about and are the type of episodes that I “love to hate”, but this episode doesn’t have any of that going for it, it’s just simply bad because it’s boring, it has a pointless and predictable plot, and it’s over 20 minutes long which makes it even worse. Like, it was obvious that Mr. Krabs would re-hire SpongeBob by the end of the episode not only because he’s the main character of the show, but also because it’s clear that no one else (especially if it's Squidward) can make good Krabby Patties. Watching SpongeBob crying and being depressed throughout most of the episode wasn’t entertaining, it was just boring to watch and felt like filler to pad out the episode. I could go on about why I don’t like this episode, but you get the idea.
I don't understand what the writers were thinking when they considered this deserved to be a special. It's literally the worst SpongeBob special ever, no matter how unfair and misleading "Truth or Square" was as anniversary special at least some moments were still funny if separated from all the Patchy segments. It really could've worked if SpongeBob actually decided to get even with Krabs and go to Chum Bucket as frycook. I know it's similar plot to when Squidward became Squidward's cook, but at least it's far more engaging than wasting time on depressed SpongeBob. I'd like to give it some credit though, Patrick was surprisingly similar to his season 1 self and actually tried to support SpongeBob and Squidward actually kicking ass trying to protect the sponge. Other than that it's the biggest wasted of a special. No matter how underwhelming "Atlantis Squarepantis" or "Sponge who could fly" were, at least they had some ideas done right and there's at least one memorable scene in each one.
Fuck Mr krabs. He fired spongebob to save on a frickin nickel. Spongebob is his best employee. If he was gonna fire someone, it should have been squidward, squidward doesn't even like his job.
Yeahh this whole thing didn't work: Mr. Krabs is cheap and greedy but even at his most malicious, he isn't bad at business and the show already established The Krusty Krab lives and dies off Spongebob's enthusiasm. And I also feel this is a moment where even SQUIDWARD would feel bad for Spongebob. Old Squidward certainly would
Every time I watch that episode after he got fired by five jobs, he cooks food at home for feeding Gary. Chopping up vegetables and cooking them together looks delicious. I wanted to try it. Just got to know the ingredients.
“SpongeBob You’re Fired” is INFAMOUS. You thought Krabs’ actions couldn’t get worse than “One Coarse Meal,” huh? It’s not the worst episode, even in this season (that honor I’d say goes to “Little Yellow Book”), but I could live without it. I totally forgot about “It Came From Goo Lagoon.” It’s okay.
