That's a nice bow! I made a yew branch bow........It's 78# @27". I've found its too powerful to shoot regularly or for any length of time. It's a D bow not a flat bow, no recurve. It was 90# but it was even worse on the shoulder. I'm probably never going to make a bow over 55# ever again. My 40-45# efforts are quick and easy on the shoulder. I recently made a flat bow @only 10# draw and its the best fun ever. Light, very fast over 10yards and makes an ideal woodland bow. It shoots really quick and can be shot without strain all day. The light and fast shooting bows are the way forward.
@@DreamcraftBows Check out peter lindgren and daniel schiffer on youtube. They’ve helped a lot. My early videos are pretty hard to watch but things are getting better slowly. You’ve had a good start and your channel is growing steady. We just have to keep at it. Most of our viewers overlap so we’re in it together!
Thank you for the recommendations! Yes, I noticed that too. We develop a bit different videos style but that's better for viewers! Really admire your videos quality and value. Keep it up man!
Sapling and branch bows are my favorite to make. Love seeing a small diameter piece of brush come to life like this. You did an amazing job on this bow. Came from the PA forum and y’all got me wanting to nail the recurves down. I’ve made a bunch of bows, but the recurves elude me as every one I’ve made, the curves failed in one way or another. Inspired to try again. Thank you.
They reinforce tips and are especially important when making high poundage yew bows. String tends to sink into soft sapwood then and need some reinforcement. And they look good also
Awsome as always man!! That's a beautiful lil bow! I really love the character staves/challenging pieces you use and seeing you work thru it. But the real ? Here is what's a fella gotta do to get a pile of yew staves like that? Hahaha
Since this is such a small diameter stave is a hollow limb design not required? Also is there a different technique for seasoning limbs rather than split staves since there is bark all the way around a limb?
The branch was too small for hollow limb but yes It would be good to apply this design. You can leave the bark but there is a risk that funghi will attack the sapwood
Yew is such a fun wood to make bows from. I like the Purple Heart accents and the wonky character in the wood. Thanks for sharing! How long do you think this bow took you to make?
Agree! Love purple heart as a finishing wood, also your bow from it looks impressive! Tough to judge it, I was working a hour or two for a few days. Perhaps 10-15 hours overall with final touches. It was significantly less work than with a stave bow
How much for one of these. I’d like to review one of your bows on Facebook. I don’t get many views on here but on Facebook t get between 5 and 50,000 views.

Thank you! I will try to make another video about it !
Wonderful video! Really helpful.
Thank you sir!!!
Really nice Video!!!
It ended quite nice, seems very practical as a go to practice Bow, to shoot some arrows without ending wasted.
Thank you! Yes it's not the most beautiful bow out there but still nice shooting stick!
👌
Hi
awesome bow! may I ask what the heat treatment is for? around 07:00
Thank you! Heat treatment purpose is to reinforce the belly and add a bit of reflex to limbs
wonderful. I do this myself. Have not used the heat treatment for the recurve portion. Would love to. Thanks for the video.
Appreciate your comment! 👊
Do you have pictures of your ash bow you showed in your wood comparison?
Check out my IG they should be somewhere there
@@DreamcraftBows Thanks
Wouldn't a round belly bow (english long bow) be better suitable for small diameter stave?
Why are the overlays important?
They reinforce tips and are especially important when making high poundage yew bows. String tends to sink into soft sapwood then and need some reinforcement. And they look good also
Thanks for uploading these wonderful videos, could you tell me what brand of electrical appliances you use

You're welcome! Thanks for watching! Heat gun was black decker
🤙🤙🤙 great job
Thank you sir!!

What is that technique called when you wrapped the handle? It looks so seamless!
I'm afraid I can't help you sir, I don't really know if it has any name
Its called a whip finish
Hey, ur videos is beautiful. What u think about bow from birch tree?
Thank you! I've never used it but I think it should make long flat bow
What tree did you make with wood, I'd appreciate it if you answered?
It is european yew
Hi the yew wood 🤔 once you find the right pice of wood, dose it need to be dried out for a length of time. Thanks 👍🏻 a very knowledgeable video 🙏🏻
Yes sir, drying time depends on many aspects. Thank you for the comment!
Como se llama la herramienta con la que va desgastando (adelgazando, sacando) la madera en el primer paso.
Cuchillo de dibujo o afeitado

What is the draw weight?
This one was light I think approx 30lb
How long do your bows hold up ?? I love the type of wood .
If made right, for many years
Sehr schöner Bogen! DTdkf.!
Thank you my friend!
Bro you just make the bow-life live
Thank you man doing what I love ! This bow is 59" tip to tip. Wow 3 inches diameter is really nice stave ! Good luck with your bow !
Really inspiring well done! How long did you leave the stave after it was originally cut from the tree?
Thank you sir!!! I don't really know, probably a bit over a year. (I've bought those branches)
wood Oleaster Suitable for bow
Please wear breathing apparatus when dealing with yew. It's highly toxic. Great video tho !
Thanks for mentioning that. Sometimes I forget about it
