"32x is the worst port of doom"
Oh you sweet summer child...
17:28 I know of this game from RebelTaxi's review of it.
Trevor McFur? More like Trevor McFu(Redacted).
Really? I can't even say Fu(Redacted)??
4:55 Jamiroqui origin story
*7:15** Yes, baby!*
Dude what version of mizu no hoshi e ai wo komete is that that plays around 13:30?
I can't find it and it's driving me crazy
love your vids
7:37 THATS BLACK NAPPA
A fun detail about the GameCube version of Shrek, is that if you fall out of the map, you will reappear inside a small room that looks like the inside of a GameCube. I imagine that the Xbox version has that as well.
'i feel like the Sega CD was only owned by your cool friend that was grounded all the time" that's so true it's almost scary like you spied on my childhood
12:24 Looks like furry fanart from the dephs of Deviantart
For all its flaws, Trevor McFur still had way better graphics than the Cats movie and you know it.
X-Squad is far worse than Ever Grace
14:12 How I wish that game got a HD remaster...... Oh, well. At least I can play it with others online using a ROM of the game, Duckstation, and Parsec though. I feel the same with Gundam Seed Destiny: Rengou VS. ZAFT II Plus and Gundam Wing: Endless Duel.
"is it possible to hate and love something"
Yes. It's called family, and there's nothing you can do about it.
7:10 what anime is that??
Magical Knight Rayearth (I think that's how it's spelled), though I might be wrong
@@FlashJordan94 thanks
OTOGI WAS MY FUCKING JAM!
I still remember having to learn to fucking fly just to beat that last boss.
Like, it's not even a game mechanic, you literally had to figure out that there were a class of weapon that allowed you to do an upward attack in the air to gain altitude, and it was REQUIRED to beat the last boss.
God that game was so great.
Holy shit that warsong/langrisser music right at the start of the video already has me more excited than i need to be
The fact the armor actually showed up on the character in Evergrace blew my mind. Coming from ps1 era where character models stayed the same whole game, this was one of my first ps2 experiences and I adore this game to this day.
The worst fighting game? Ever play Dangerous Street for Amiga CD32? That might be one to check out.
the worst beat ever made has competition. 13:08
I rented Evergrace from a price cutter way back in the day. I remembered it being bad, but I was also very little

Has anyone ever told you the Cyber demon isnt in Doom 1
Uh, he is? He's the boss of the second episode. Not the final boss, like he stated, though.
@@todesziege thanks for the autistic comment
2:55 *totally forgets about Deracine*
I still love you ❤️
DICE also developed the underrated racing game Motorhead.
''Sega CD. Owned by that one kid who was grounded all the time."
Is that implying that the kid a troublemaker (and yet kool by young kid standards), or that Austin was ghosted by his 'friend' with the Sega CD by being told, "Sorry. You(Austin) can't come over. I'm grounded."
What, shrek was a launch title? got the bundle at launch with halo, doa, and project gotham from eb and ended up being some of the greatest gaming moments in my life : D
3:11 why is the game upside down?
"...'90s anime-looking mecha fighting game"... 🤨
"... for the Sega CD"
Ah. *Not* One Must Fall 2097, then... 😔
Did you ever play Another Century Episode? It's a mecha anime crossover game by From Software. It's got Gundam, Macross, Code Geass, Getter Robo, & a few other series.
Awesome video
DooM was not designed with the mouse in mind... the first release of DooM only offered keyboard controls.
That's not actually true. Most people played with just keyboard for sure. That's the way I played it as a kid. But you definitely could use a mouse. It didn't let you freely look around like later FPS controls since Doom wasn't designed for that, but you could move around more quickly and do fancy things like circle strafing that you couldn't do with a keyboard alone.
@@MysteriousMrL I'm fairly confident that was a revision. I've 100% played shareware copies that dont have mouse options as well as copies that have mouse options but are otherwise identical.
I'm pretty sure that they added mouselook shortly after the initial official release.
Can confirm fusion frenzy was fun af back in the day
This channel is chefs kiss
Good video! I didn't know about most of these games
you name-dropped armored core and talked about Gundam a bit. Any chance of a mech video games video coming out?
was Dos-Doom really made with mouse and keyboard in mind?
No.

Hell it's better than Wii U's whole library
Hey it has Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors, I know there's a good chunk of good indie games on it, and was such a cool idea for a console, just didn't work out perfectly
@@rescuerex7031 fair point. TBH most games on wii u got better when they came to switch to the point that even as somebody who has a fondness for old systems theres only like 5 games anymore that have value on it over that
@@TheAlexxManReviewer I just don't like super have the releases memorized, but I know there were decent games that weren't ported to Switch, and there's a bunch of rad stuff the Wii U could do, but nobody knew how to program for it so the gamepad was usually just a Menu or map, and you could occasionally play games on the pad
In my opinion as a former journalist who was working at Game Informer when Xbox released, you should have gone with Kabuki Warriors. Our editor-in-chief beat the game with his ass. He slapped the hamburger controller on his butt until he killed the last boss.
The commander sounds like nappa from tfs
Yes, it is possible to hate and love something.I deal with that struggle everyday on the internet.
I feel the same with my wife ;)
your new cowboy hat icon is A+
Shrek on Shreksbox is what chaotic evil looks like
Doom wasn't built for mouse and keyboard. It was ALL keyboard! Mouselook wasn't really widespread by 95
I LOVE the Snack World Tutti Frutti music in the ad in the beginning! That game is quite underrated!!
I see that profile pic. Keep fighting the power!
"The 32x port of Doom is probably the worst port of Doom..."
Me: Laughs in 3DO
Or super Nintendo. Or Saturn.
Tbf saturn port sucking was because of carmack being a stuck up, and the 3do one was made by one person in 10 weeks bc they were forced to release it for christmas
32x doom is not a horrible port, compared to the PC original yea it's not good but compared to all the other console ports it's pretty decent
To be honest, the worst version of doom is up to other’s preference, as all Doom ports [except the ports nowadays] have their flaws, yet have positives. For example, the 3DO version had the best music, yet had bad controls, frame rate, and graphics. The Snes port had low performance, but the controller has enough buttons to use, while the 32X version doesn’t. Even tho, most ports have an excuse for not being good, like the Saturn and 3DO version. But the ones that have no positives or an excuse are the worst versions of the game. And personally, I will have to agree with the 32X version being the worst, as you basically have low performance, and not enough buttons [unless you own a 6 button controller but if you don’t, have a great time 🙂] You don’t really have to agree with me either, as it’s up to your preference, but it’s just my own opinion, is all.
32x port of DOOM is the worst?
Not even close...
Do i hear Snack World Dungeon Crawl Gold town music in the background , in beginning of video?
11:03 how is the final boss not in the port? does the game just end before the final level then???
Arc Ray well, Cyberdemon was only the final boss of Doom’s 2nd episode. He’s missing because the level that he appears in is probably missing. The Spider Mastermind is actually the last boss of the original Doom by virtue of being the boss of episode 3. (I can’t recall if the Spider Mastermind is missing from 32X Doom or not....)
Get this: the 32X port of Doom didn’t even have the BFG-9000. All the levels where you could get one were missing, so it was only accessible through a cheat code.
Crossfire could have been good, but that framerate is a nightmare.
You're not supposed to play Doom with a mouse and keyboard. Just the keyboard.
Funny and annoying story. I bought Popful Mail for $5 from a going out of business sale at the games store at the mall near me. I wish i had never sold it...
The snes doom port was worse then the 32x.
Thank you for mentioning Evergrace. Even if you’re mentioning that it’s crap. I would die for Darius and Sharline.
Remember when Atlus published a rather mediocre Dodgeball game for the GBA as a launch title? ...Good times.
'ST user gave it 90%'. Belive me, compared to some of the crap coming out on the ST in the early 90's, Trevor Mcfur would of seemed like a masterpiece.
In which video did he talk about gundam game? Trying to look for it and give it a watch 😅
You know the original Doom was NOT played with a mouse, right? I remember playing it at my cousin's house. Their computer didn't even have a mouse at the time.
Like Wolfenstein 3D, it can be.
@@Chaos89P Later versions were updated to use a mouse, but the original game didn't have that feature on release.
Chaos89P the main thing is it wasn’t designed for mouse and keyboard which is why you don’t choose original controls usually when loading up doom or doom 2 on a modern pc
The version of DOOM I downloaded to my computer had mouse support. I didn't know there was a keyboard-only version first.
It always supported mouse, but not for vertical aiming. It was more like "all mouse" than "mouse and keyboard" in any modern sense though.
Black ops 2 was on the Wii u that’s wild
Probably the one I least agree with is the doom port. The PC version also had borders, and that's not even my main problem with your review.
How dare you open the wound that is Chromehounds being unplayable now due to servers being shut down. RIP Chromehounds.
Black Hole Assault is actually a sequel to the even worse Heavy Nova.
When i saw the sega CD pop up, i was thinking to myself, you better not trash talk Lunar.
Thank god a different cheesy voice acted anime style game took the bullet
Those Shrek graphics look kinda nice tbh😳
The 3do port of doom is probably the worst one, or the saturn.
The Jaguar controller is actually really comfortable, so I call bullshit.
Sega 32x doom
Cyber demon: *um where am I?*
32x: *in better ports*
No knocking evergrace it maybe basic but to me it's interesting to say the least and challenging to the mind for myself😔
Well, DICE also made PRYZM: Chapter 1: the Dark Unicorn. I hear it ALSO sucked hard.
Pan Pizza would throw a fit if you talked shit about Fusion Frenzy
The worst port of Doom is the 3DO version. The Sega 32X version is a gem by comparison.
Doom meant to be played on mouse and keyboard? You mean on a keyboard right
nice to see my boy dropping these hot videos and I'm looking forward to more
lmao the music on that doom port
Why does ever grace sound like a gbc game
man zeonic front was good
Wii u's launch games were fine. The Wii U had the most launch games of any Nintendo console and was pretty good. One of the interesting things about the Wii U's launch was that it had games you would've never expected to see on a Nintendo console. Many were games that had yet to ever appear on a Nintendo console--It's thanks to Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper that Hyrule Warriors ever existed.. Not only on launch day but during its launch window--amassing close to 30 titles. And the majority of these titles might not ever appear on a Nintendo console again thanks to poor decisions from pushy publishers.
13:43 oh hell yeah Gundam Battle Assault 2 😩👌 one of my favorite fighting games of all time
I still go YOU CAN'T DEFEND and FIRE on occasion.
@@RippahRooJizah BURNING FINGEEEEEER
Okay, but Shrek 2 for GCN slaps.
Trevor McFur wasn't originally intended to rip off Star Fox...it was just going to be a scifi game with anthro animals as the main characters, which is like saying any platformer where the main character wears a red shirt and blue pants is a rip off of Mario. However, the development of the game was plagued with executive interference, removing critical story elements and causing major pot holes because back then as much as now, studios thought kids couldn't handle the concept of death (despite many of the _most memorable and beloved_ stories for children having major characters dying in them and constant threats of death to the main characters as part of the stakes) among other themes, as well as not understanding the target audience was meant to be teens/young adults initially but "hurr durr, talking animals means it's for babies".
I don't know why I know so much about the development of this one mediocre game I've never played on a console I've never touched.
The names Uar.
Jag Uar.
That Jackie Chan Adventures reference has crippled me. Never has a reference launched me into the 7th dimension.
Favorite Gundam game?
Federation vs. Zeon for this guy.
Duke is an underrated controller, I never had issues with it... at least not after my hands grew into it lol most and I mean most controllers cramp my hands after awhile. Duke, Dualshock 4, and the 360 controller are the top 3 for me lol
I haven't seen your vids in awhile so i don't know how long you've had it but that's a dope set up you got, i dig it
*Shrek beats up on people*
BOOM PUMP UP THE VOLUME BA DA DA DA DA DA DAAAA DA
Is this the screaming Austin from game theory?
I played gundam crossfire, and you're right on the mark.
Fun fact! Black Hole Assault is the sequel to equally horrible Genesis fighting game Heavy Nova!
Oh im not alone being fan of the 90s and even 80s anime astatic and style.
evergrace ost is awesome
You think the 32x port of Doom is bad? Have you played the 3DO port? The SNES port? Aside from the fart music, the 32x had a very decent version of Doom, to the point where most other console ports were based on it.
oh my god I've seen the jaguar before but I've NEVER seen the controller what the FUCK
7:37: Interesting, since I think differently about DICE. For me Digital Illusions will aways be the the developer of some of my favorite games back in the 90s. And especially their outstanding Pinball Games like Pinball Dreams, Pinball Fantasies or Pinball Illusion that sparked a lot of other games by different developers in their style. Or also cute litte gems as Benefactor. To me current DICE is horrible. They seem to be stuck in that awful cycle of supposed AAA game bullshit with borderline fraudulent micro transaction and other crap. I'd wish they finally get out of this cycle of awful multiplayer garbage like Battlefield or that Star Wars crap and come back to the quality of their 90's titles. It's kinda funny DICE seems to be one of the few exceptions of former demo scene devs that successfully managed to make the transition from the old 2D titles to indeed outstanding 3D graphics, but damn are their recent titles pointless and boring. I'd rather play a new Pinball game from DICE or a platformer like Benefacter than that multiplayer trash they seem to be stuck at now. Actually I just played one of their earlier titles just recently and had lots of fun with it. And this was the previously unreleased Ultracore (some kind of Turrican clone that was also known as Hardcore which was supposedly developed first for the Amiga and later ought to be released on the Mega Drive) which was finally finished and released in it's original state by another developer just a couple of months ago.
DICE's early hits were on computers. An american console gamer would probably not be aware of them.
i dunno Trevor Mcfur reminds me more of Wing Commander than Starfox.
