Great! Thanks for the chord diagrams. It seems like such a basic thing to provide in a guitar tutorial but so few videos have them! It leaves us beginners and dabblers in the dust without them. Really appreciated.
Best teacher I've come across on You Tube...or anywhere! Great songs too. Right out of my generation of British invasion, heavy metal genre. Thank you very much. Your instruction is so concise and precise that even I can learn this great tune. Has always been a favorite from Tull.
Thanks so much for this. I want to be able to play the prog music I grew up with and listened to countless times, but I’m basically a dabbler, nowhere near good enough to understand what those folks were doing. I need to have songs firmly in memory to be able to work them out, and good tutorials like this break down those parts that are trickier than they sound. I’ve got this one now! Just need to practice each bit over and over and over…
Nice lesson, Howard. This is one of the best off of Aqualung. Windup takes you through the emotions. Good music never goes out of style……it’s craved even more! Thanks.
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart I saw a few other videos and they didn't sound right. You confirmed some of my own chord choices and your teaching style resonates with me. I like the way you pick the Asus2 and the strum pattern, the way it needs to be played! It took about 200 reps to perfect the mid and ending lick at full speed, but I'm really pleased. Thanks again!
This is an amazing lesson video, as are all that you post! It's beyond my current skill level but that won't stop me from trying to learn it until it isn't! Great, great video! Cheers!
@@247GuitarwithHowardHart Loved " Wondering Aloud " Was always one of my favorites and one of the highlights of Ian's career. Showcases the complexity of his guitar and his voice in it's prime. Any chance you would do a tutorial on " Just Trying to Be " Keep up the lessons, they really help alot. Thanks
Hi great lesson! Would you be able to do any of Rory gallaghers acoustic songs if you ever got the chance? They are quite difficult to figure out. Cheers
Just found your channel. Great stuff. I've got another Tull song for you to give us. "Skating Away" Is an excellent acoustic tune I'd love for you to teach us. Thanks
Ian Anderson was a GREAT guitarist; not "Tommy Emmanuel" great, but very, very good. His acoustic work is amazing. And, he thought of himself as an average player. I'd love to be so "average". Thanks for this video, it really clears up the fine points.
Fabulous lesson, great sound, camera angle, etc. I love Tull, always welcome more lessons. Their material was a bit more complex and melodic. The original: ruclips.net/video/_s7PYLZdSa8/видео.html
Ya know... in the very early 1970's, I always thought Tull put on a better show & concert than the Zep Dogs of Led. I think Zeppelin put out more music with longevity than Tull. Tull went downhill by 1974 to me & my friends at the time. We were just school childern at the time, not even old enough to drive ourselves to the concerns in downtown Dallas, TX.
This is how you give a lesson on RUclips. Precise, accurate, and no fluff

I agree this guy is the best online teacher I've seen, scouring many of the channels.
Finally got it! Best Mother Goose lesson out there. Always loved this tune....now just need to learn how to sing!
Me too! Wish I could sing like him :-)
Re: the 8 bar interlude- brilliant picking: down down up !
For years I picked it Alternately.
Love your flatpicking prowess.
HT presents an awesome tutorial - Everyone who does online guitar lessons should strive to follow his method
One of my favorite Tull songs. Thanks for showing how to play it correctly.

This is a really clear, concise lesson. Very well explained and demonstrated. Especially the cross-picking part for the riff. A Great help. Thanks.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I can't get enough of playing this song and thank you for the precise and easy tutorial! Your instruction on "Wondering Aloud" is the benchmark also!

Thanks Bro! Picked it up from scratch in a couple of hours! Good Lesson!!!
Great! Thanks :-)
ALL of Howard's instructions are very good.
Stand Up(1969) has always been the best Jethro Tull album and always will be.
Nice video. I like your subtle variations, especially the part you tabbed out in the first couple min. Those open strings ringing sound really great!
Clean and slick lesson! Inspired to learn it.
Awesome video. It helped me to affirm that I actually figured out the song properly on my own! I'm feeling pretty good right now :)
That's great!
We totally love you HH. Press on brother. Happy 2021.
Keith

Not yet! Gotta get to that one for sure.

Nice!
Man, you are good!
You're very kind :-)
superb
Thanks 🤗
Leave out the initial strumming part, take the rest, put in a pot, give it a good stir, and what pours out is thick as a brick.
