In what way, how, evidence
Most Americans prefer the laws be enforced, and if there is a loophole in those laws that is being exploited they want that loophole closed. Most Americans want fair and legal immigration, and do not like to see literally millions cut in front of those that are following the rules to gain citizenship. Most Americans want Asylum to be offered to those in need, instead of being bogged down by the 90% filing false claims. Those are most relevant to this conversation, shall I go on?

A friend of mine who works at Miami Valley Hosp here in Dayton said it was actually pretty intense (I guess people on both sides, from what he was describing, being at odds or whatever-but funny how I never heard that on the news :-)
