- We were so excited to head out on our full time RV adventure! Our first stop was at a campground near Palm Springs, but our set up didn't go as planned. In this video, we show what we did wrong when setting up for the very first time. If you're a new RVer, make sure you test the power BEFORE setting everything up!

We set up in the dark our first time too 😅🤦♀️🤷♀️
We tried so hard to avoid it! But some things are out of our control. 😭
All Kinds of gadgets ya Don't need ! But you'll learn as ya go.
Very true! We’ve learned a lot this past year!
Ooof. Didn’t see that coming.
RVed for 3 years and never had that happen. That would stink for sure.
I will say, your vid did give me a little PTSD, watching that set up and all that work.
RVing was ok, but for us, the juice was not worth the squeeze. We discovered we’re more Disney resort folks.
Haha! It's definitely not for everyone.
I do not like to setup in the dark I try my best not to but sometimes it happen.
Yep, we try to avoid it at all costs. Setting up in the rain is worse.

May you have many great and fulfilling travels in the years ahead!
Thank you so much!
My dad didn't like to set up in the dark either ! ❤️
We’ve had to do it a couple time now, but we definitely didn’t want to have to do it our first time!
looks like your boys had lots of fun. congrats!
Thank you! Yes, we’re loving the RV life!
Wow you jump right in lol buy one of the biggest rigs then set out on a long day trip and end up setting up at night, balls move , good luck safe travels 😊
Haha! Yep! Well, we live in it full time, so it’s basically our home on wheels. We’re almost a year into it now!
What 😮 It’s a Newbie requirement to set up in the dark after a long day the first time out . That is how you know you will survive 👍
Baptism by fire! 😆
Yep! We did the same thing! 🤪
There are two times I set up in the dark. 1) the very first time that made me realize it would be the very last time. 2) I was too sick to leave at my scheduled time, canceling was out of the question because my grandchildren were waiting on me. I got a late start.
The very first thing I do when I pull into the site is connect my surge protector and check the water. Ain’t no fun setting up just to tear it down 20 minutes later.
Yes, now we make sure we don’t ever have to set up in the dark. We have encountered rain though, which is almost worse. Haha!
@@McVeyMcFarm Omgoodness, rain is horrible. I’m solo so I’ll connect the electricity and water and will unhook at a dryer time. It doesn’t matter how unleveled I am, I hate being in the rain! Lol
Not sure I understand why you are using Xchocks and pulling on to blocks with having Auto Level.
Especially when you haven't put the pads down yet.
The Xchocks are designed for trailers without Auto Level.
We auto-leveled before we put the xchocks on. It's more for stability. Also, this was our very first time setting up. We didn't need to use the blocks under the tires, we just didn't know any better at the time. We've never had to use them in the year we've been traveling.
Wow you had electric in Ca, lol that’s lucky , and u are still aloud to have a big diesel truck in Ca?
Yes and yes
@@McVeyMcFarm lol , nice you plan on travel the country?
