    Very instructive. THANKS.
    Just for your information, CRV or circulation relief valve are installed on discharge flange of main electrical pump. When the pump is working with no flow (churn condition) the water temperature will increase which can cause serious problem for pump. To regulate the temp in this situation, the CRV will operate and drain some of the water from the pump casing and another valve will let some cool water to the pump.

    Does Diesel FP only operate on Power Failure? How about when there’s no Power Failure and while the Electric FP is operating and there is still more demand such as pressure drop to cut-in pressure of Diesel FP? Will Diesel FP assist Electric FP?

    • @engineersguide4249

      diesel engine is mainly designed to work on batteries only,the presence of ac supply is to charge the batteries, diesel pump can operate when there is no ac but batteries are connected.
      2.yes the diesel pump has to work when it reaches its cut in point unless the pump has interlocking..so pls check that as well.

      Generally, electric and diesel pumps work sequentially, which means if the electric pump failed to start for any reason, and pressure dropped to cut in limit of diesel pump, this pump will be started.
      As far as I know, pump are selected in a way that the electric pump (or pumps) capacity can meet the flow and pressure requirement of whole fire water network and diesel pump (or pumps) will operate only in emergency situations.

    Why not any flexible joint before and after pumps?

    • @justkiddingwithahmad999
      @justkiddingwithahmad999 Год назад

      Good question , flexible joints are usually installed on suction and discharge nozzles where high temperature fluid exists in suction or discharge (thermal expansion) or where Axial displacement of piping shall be absorbed, eg. in Centrifugal compressors or blowers. I personally haven't seen flexible joints in inlet or outlet of pumps in general.
