There was an ensemble that she wore to a house party, a sweater, and velvet shorts, and matching tights, in shades of burgundy. I really loved that.

Fun fact: The little black dress is thought to have been popularized by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Sabrina, when she goes to Humphrey Bogart's office in her iconic black dress designed by Hubert de Givenchy.
Fun scandalous fact: Edith Head was supposed to be the sole designer for Audrey's wardrobe in Sabrina, but they had such a bad relationship from Roman Holiday that Audrey refused have her design her glamour wardrobe. Instead, she went to them newcomer designer Givenchy to ask him to design for her instead. He couldn't design from scratch because he was working on his upcoming fashion show, but she was welcomed to anything off the rack. She chose all the pieces that are now iconic, like her ballgown and black dress, and kick-started her lifelong collaboration and friendship with Givenchy, helping his brand achieve prominence. Safe to say, Edith Head was not happy about only being able to design Audrey's dowdy wardrobe, so when Sabrina won the Oscar for best costume design, she accepted the Oscar and took credit for Givenchy's designs! From then on, Audrey Hepburn only worked with Givenchy, whose clothes were, to paraphrase "the only clothes I feel like myself in".

Could you possibly do a video on the outfits of the show "The Borgias" ?

I would like to see a tutorial on the textiles of the outfits. How newer fabrics were used to create period pieces and stay accurate.

Thank you - this is one of the best researched presentations I've yet seen of the Maisel costumes. Fantastic video and great production. Just out of curiosity - are you taking part on the YT symposium CoSy this year? Are you aware of the Costuming Coalitions release of two of the Maisel patterns - Bernadette Banner has a dress made for her by the costuming house that produced the originals.
I've recently lucked out on some vintage patterns from the 1930's, 40's & 50's. I'll be coming back to this video as I work through the different stages of mock-up. Thanks again.

Hi Cathy, thank you I really appreciate your comment! I'm not aware of any panel, I haven't participated in any shows except I did attend FanExpo in Toronto a few times.
I did share the pattern to the red dress and pattern in the first video (season) 1 and I will be finishing up the next 2 (seasons 3 and 4) they just got sidetracked a bit for House of the Dragon. :)

@@Costume_CO I just clicked on your first part of this series where you reference the project... I aspire to be able to follow-through with the Costume Association patterns...
CoSy is an online symposium, spread out over Thurs, Aug 25 to Sun, Aug 28th. There are panel discussion, deep dive videos, how-to's, etc. It originally started in 2020 as CoCo Vid (the video playlists should still be floating around somewhere). It's been put together by an online group of YT content creators who collectively refer to themselves as Cos Tube (sewists & researchers & enthusiasts who specialize in vintage, historic and movie/TV production costume design). If you haven't come across them yet, check out Bernadette Banner, Rachael Makesy, Morgan Donner, Nicole Rudolph, and Abby Cox.
Congratulations on appearing at the Fan Expo in Toronto. Sorry I missed it. That's theoretically down the street from me (if you count in the 6 hr drive ;) ). Maybe next time.
