Thanks, You have very elaborately explained the very origin of the term "Ideology" and the later snowball effect development of the term. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
After the French Revolution Antoine Tracy was leading the educational institution. Ideology the study of ideas; why and how people think and ideology should the top science from which everything else is understood then ideology was replaced by theology which was back then on the top of hierarchy of science as result of post-revolutionary secularised France Is this fair brevity? I didn’t understand Karl ideology
ive read my textbook back, forwards and diagonal and still didnt understand what Tracy and Marx's take on ideology were. Not all superheros wear capes some make youtube videos lol
But Marx emphasizes.that.foe him ideology is a set of ideas about society that has major false , not accurate distortions, though still.has a few accurate ideas. This sort of distorted ideas is always uses by an already dominant class or an aspiring one. Marx called a.set .of.accurate.ideas about society as worldview.1
Having it spelled out in such very simple-minded terms merely serves to tell us what a lot of nonsense this Marxist theory is. There are many historical cases where the ideas of the ruling class are different from the ideas of most of the population--different religions, for instance. It should be obvious to anyone that "The ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class" is not just false, but blatantly false. Also, the theory introduces the notion that the ideas accepted by the proletariat are not in their interests. But what if they are in their interests, because the proletariat benefits from collaboration with the ruling class? Or what if the ideas of the ruling class (such as the nineteenth century acceptance of the Copernican theory or of crop rotation) are simply true? The fact that these (all too obvious) possibilities are defined away shows that we are not dealing with science but with political zealotry and uncritical dogma. This whole approach is muddle and confusion, and can lead nowhere useful. Scrap it and start again.
The ruling ideas are always officially dominant. but at times the people reject them but are forced, for some length of time. to.pretend to to believe them. If a dominant economic class. + its gov. spread their ideas + everyone always believed them, then all societies would still follow ancient BCE ideas from the 1si class societies from 1000s of years ago.
The Marx quote is funny( dialectically) at least in german. "...the ruling class as a ruling class with consciousness thinks therefore..." therefore so on and on... ;-) Yes of course they do think, and they are the ruling class, and they produce the ruling ideas... (Not to discourage scientific rigueur prematurely), but doing the ruling classes' thinking of increasingly appropriate ideas of this fine world, is kinda dumb and mean. scientists should not take themselves so damned serious.

I don't expect deep critiques and discourse on RUclips but you can do better than this. This is elementary at best.
Please speak for yourself as you shovel the "zealotry and uncritical dogma" of the ruling class. Please actually question it for more than 5 minutes.
⬆️looks like you hit a raw nerve or two 😆
