- This video shows you how I did the delete, and what was used in the process. I also talk about the benefits of doing the job! And of course a FIRST FIRE UP TO HEAR IT!
@8:42 "I just used this old pipe that uh -bluurp" 🤣🤣-nice! Most replayed! FYI: After watching this though I went out and inspected this out of curiosity on my '23 Hawk EFI to find the clearance between my header pipe and the engine/EFI housing is significantly further, almost a non-issue really. Mine also came with the upgraded "titanium" exhaust out of the box -which actually sounds plenty mean enough as is. Apparently something DSL was paying attention to and revised at some point. Still, fun video though -thank you for sharing!!
Did you notice any power gains? Or just sound?
From what I have seen with mine that little thing u cut off is only there for it to suck fresh air into the exhaust I'm assuming so it could pass emissions or cool off the exhaust a lil. I deleted mine too.
Couldn’t you split the cat in the middle and pull the brick out weld the seam back up?
That’s what I just did will see how it goes lol
Bro they make aftermarket exhaust for these bikes
The aftermarket pipes also have a CAT -
look again
@@carbonEYE007it’s an expansion chamber not a cat on the aftermarket stuff. I have one so I know. They’ve used small expansion chambers on 4 strokes since the 80’s
@@RobsatvsandRec have you ever cut one open? I bet you’d be surprised what’s inside. The Japanese were the first to use cats ffs.
Free is better tho.
what size pipe is it? I dont have a welder so I was gonna get a couple butt joints
Calipers will tell you
