I started with a tissot prc200 and sold it and up. Now have a steady 10-12k extra a year. Not to mention I traded a vintage heuer autavia gmt that I had 600 into for a vintage zenith daytona tt. It can be done. Great work on the channel. Now working up to an AP.
Eric, you're AMAZING at giving info about the industry, you deserve MAD respect for helping those that are considering getting into this cooky industry, and at these insane times, you're AWESOME! Keep the GREAT content coming...!
I think the supply chain is crucial. You need to get good pieces at a price that provides you with a reasonable margin. A lot of watch dealers get pieces from Authorised Dealers who cannot sell beyond their mandated retail price. We see this with Hulk and other Rolex sports models that are trading 2x of Retail price so deals are being done; surprisingly the margins are not as high as a lot of people might think. You need integrity too which is build up over years. Above all, you need to be able to predict the next move in the game and what will be in demand. Milgauss is an example of that; I paid $6k for a polar dial and they are now selling around $9k (Singapore $) some of the Panerai's too are trading so low now that money could be made on these (for the right models) and so on. This is one of the best channels around with a unique style! Best wishes for Christmas and may 2021 get you to 100k Subscribers and beyond!
Hey Eric, I love you man you are the very very best watch guy on facebook...a bit too cool for me ! BUT I am excited every time a new video comes up from you, its just perfect and you are a star. I love Omega and Rolex and your content is a breath of fresh air. You always come across as real genuine. Thanks for all your hard work!
Great video. Idk what it is, maybe it’s the vibe from starting your own business, but I prefer the videos you do now since separating from your prior place.
Great video Eric, had a collection of about 50 watches, not high end one but sold over 40 on ebay, got more for them than I hoped for so was quite happy, bought a few entry level ones now, love them.I also bought a few from China to make a bit profit and sold about 25,only made about £200 but enjoyed it.Done all the selling in about 3 months,I love watches and fancy a go at better quality ones.
Now this is a cool video! Am getting tired of technical videos I now wanna hear stories about watches and the inside of the business not the lug to lug mm or the thickness of watches we have enough of those on RUclips . Thanks Eric!
Ohhhhhhh, a cliff hanger as the new joint/store/bar/hang out crib comes. Can't wait for that one. This was another great vid with information and some basic guidelines for the upcoming wanna-be dealers/traders. My advice as "only" being a collector, think twice before getting into this business (it is not for amateurs) and set aside a loss budget (not including) girlfriend/wife). Have a great weekend and have fun. LOL.
With so many ADs playing games, I have learned a lot about selling watches just by being involved in the hobby of collecting them. It’s impossible to not think about resale when buying...just in case I decide a watch isn’t right for me at a later time. I have “Capital” that I am willing to put into my collection, and if a watch is going to reduce that “Capital”, I have to really consider whether I love the watch enough to “lose” money on it. Thank you for the great video.
I found Eric through timepiece gentleman and Roman scharf - I really like these videos and the vibe. Great how they are the same topic of watches but each has their own voice and style.
Eric, we are here to support you Hermano. Good advice as always. Flipping is not for me, but whenever I’m done with my Hulk, it’s yours. I’m ready for the H. Moser streamliner.
Great video Eric as always. Wish you all the best with the new store. Your the real deal man. Don’t forget the espresso machine for your new place ☕️ 👍I hope to drop in some day real soon.
@@WatchEric I just got an offer to sell my business and it’s a good price I think I might do that I’ve been thinking about moving to Scottsdale Arizona I’m sick of the cold weather in Chicago I’ll be coming to see you if I sell my business talk to you later
Brilliant as usual Eric🙏🙏🙏Wish I could discuss questions with you personally rather than here but I’m trying to catch every watch videos of you and other great guys like Federico Talks watches or Tim Mosso ... also I’m a friend of Michael Blakey and leaning a lot from him too ... My best wishes to you buddy🙏🙏🙏
Hi Eric, thanks for another great video. As an enterpreneur myself 5 very recognisable tips. But to each their own. I buy watches for the only good reason to me : to really enjoy the experience of wearing them. Never felt the urge to start trading with them. I leave that to the specialists like you ! Should Covid-19 really be gone and travelling to the US be possible again I surely will try to come by and visit you and your store to enjoy a good talk about my' hobby / your business' and perhaps by a piece, who knows... For now: keep the great video's coming, stay healthy and all the best for 2021 !!
If I'm not mistaken, that yacht at 2:22 is the Utopia IV owned by Loren and JR Ridinger. THAT is living the dream. Like Eric said -- "focus, hard work and dedication."
Independent Pawn Shops can be a good source for Not only Parts. But watches. I got a pawn shop owner who has been in pawning for decades. And has "Bags of watches. Once I found out he had bags of watches at home. I moved in. And have found a lot of gems. Mostly Vintage. Even broken vintage watches such as a Hamilton Electric. Will sell for good profit. Vintage Wittnauer Divers Vintage Eterna etc etc
Great vid Eric. Unlike those watch trading Ads we see on youtube all the time. 😂 "this $1000 makes you $200 and make another $200 and make another $200. After 5 trades you have $1000. Blah blah
Cool video Eric! Well done! What about Chrono24? I mean, is it a good place to start business or is better to look somewhere else (Catawiki, EBay or Judicial auctions ..)
Thanks for a great video as always man! I’m running successful my business which is not connected with watches by any means but I’m more and more interested with entering this one. Watch out Eric 😎
I love your channel man. It’s so frustrating trying to get rolexes from the AD. After 1 year of being on the waiting list for the Batman they tell me that I’ve been knocked off because my purchase history is less than $25k. So how am I supposed to build a purchase history if they don’t even have the watches available? Do you have any tips on how to move up the Queue?
Hey Eric I got a question I want to buy a Rolex day date soon and I’m going with a diamond bezel on it also but which dial do you prefer a black dial or a champagne dial?
Opinion: #1 - what benefit was contributed with what you said? #2 a what? #3 Should be #1. #4 should be #2. #5 should be #3. And only after that you can determine the amount of money you will need to start.
There’re lots of RUclipsrs who are watch commentators and sellers. If they own all the watches they promote, each of them would be multi millionaires. And most of them are in their late 20s to late 30s. So how did they amass such wealth so young?
I can see that cultivating a hipster image would work well in Miami but no way I am going to fork over 20K to a hipster for a luxury watch. I am happy to buy my watches from arrogant ADs wearing suits and ties)))
To me, he was the face of CRM. CRM ain't his business so logically it would make sense for him to make his own business. After Eric left, I have not returned to watch CRM videos lol.
It seems that there was a lot more watches floating around before the pandemic. I don't seem to run into the opportunities that I use to anymore or at least not as often. Everybody wants market price now, and that is higher then before as well.
@@WatchEric Then it is something strange with the lens on your camera, the subdials are not the diameter on any 116500 model Rolex has produced to this day.
I appreciate you pointing anything out. But trust me. That white dial one is my personal one. Its all good. The black one I just picked up. Also 100. Pics and video be making things weird at times
@@WatchEric Trust me, anyone can make misstakes.. Next time you let your service dude take a look at it, tell him to examine backside of dial. If it is as i think it is, i get you a new dial in blister 50% cheaper than what you can find! Im guessing you have not bought it in stickers from AD?

Is there a solid profit you have set for every watch regardless of brand or does it depend and how much do you usually want to profit off each watch ?

Severin Leon Gw it’s a toss up bc they are both beautiful but I feel in some ways the black dial is the best because it really brings out the diamonds
