    2022 Yaris Cross, top specced, I cant connect properly to begin with. I connect my app and I scan the QR code and then I accept all the services but on the next screen I only get a triangle with an exclamationmark in it and it says "last updated" and about 5 weeks ago, it will not get the current values so I only see the state of the doors 5 weeks ago.
    I have tried resetting everything and connecting everything again, no dice.

    I’ve been trying to get remote app to work, every time I try to pair it with the car it gives me an error “ Network Connection Currently Unavailable Please Try Again Later” I’ve never had a problem with pairing till now? I don’t know what to do?

    Mine just had some repairs and it says the request cannot be completed while the vehicle is being repaired. Is this some kind of setting the dealer put my car in? Can I change it or do I have to bring it back in? Thanks!

    Toyota really dropped the ball with all this technology. It sucks, I just bought a brand new tundra 3 days ago and I honestly just want my old car back. The technology is too confusing and it’s too complicated to access easy things. Like my dash display info there’s so much I get lost and there’s no way to figure things out

    Question, I have a 2023 Toyota gr86 and my free 1 year connected services trial ran out a few months ago and ever since I’ve renewed it and started paying for it nothing on it works. The remote start, lock/unlock commands do nothing as well as it no longer shows miles to E nor the odometer reading.but give me a message that’s says an unexpected error occurred please try again if issue persist contact dealer for assistance. I had an appointment today at dealership and they said dcm and everything else checked fine and couldn’t get to the bottom of the issue. Have you had anyone come in with this issue if so was there anything you all found to make it work again?

    Soo I came back here after I finally resolved my issue on app not starting /locking/unlocking....
    It was discovered by Toyota my latest in car update did not fully take Toyota (uninstalled/reinstalled and a Hard reboot ) on the in car system, The radio needed a hard reboot. It took Toyota over 2 hours to figure out and fix issue and didn't charge me for it :)

    A friend of mine has 2019 RAV XLE FXW SUV, she's not able to see the lock, unlock, and start option under Remote Connect. Does this model not have it or can it be something else?

    Is there a way for a dealer to flash the computer or add the ability to work with remote connect. I have a 2022 Corolla Hybrid with the premium package and Despit what the internet is saying. I do not have the remote connect functionality. 😐

    Im paying Remote Connect and Safety Connect to my Corolla 2020 and didn’t work at all, everything is fine and still not working. I talked with my dealership and they told me to talk with the people of the SOS button and they did t help at all 😢

    All the stuff I've found has been about the App not function. I have the opposite problem. My Remote Connect (IOS version) has been STARTING my car WITHOUT being requested, and without the App even being open. I do NOT have a Siri voice command set either. I just get a vibration signal and the phone notification screen tells me the app is starting my car. NO idea what is triggering this. Even did it at least once with the doors unlocked, though it did stop the car when I opened the door. Can't find a tech support line anywhere for this thing. Crazy.

    Hello Steven I have a 2022 tundra would you happen to know how to fix the issue where I was setting my truck up at the dealership and I accidentally skipped the trials and now when I try to do it my QR code won’t show up in the truck it’s very frustrating

    Just today I installed the app because I received the Entune radio's firmware update which installed Alexa. I think that's great but why do I have to access the app on the phone and then choose my car in order for the phone and car to connect? And if I was connected to Alexa and turn off the car, the next time I start the car, the Audio App just spins a wheel of death until I turn on the phone app, chose my car, connect with Alexa in order to choose a different App such as the XM app? There needs to be an option for this to happen automatically.

    Hello Steven so I just bought the subscription for the remote connect but when I try to activate, it says that they need to verify I am the owner and, I need to enter a code into the car screen but the problem is that the button of remote connect is grayed out instead of red so I can’t press it nor enter the code. Any help? Please

    Thanks for the info. However it still doesn't work. It's worked like 3 times for me and fails every other time. Pretty dissapointing. Not to mention toyota makes you pay for it after the free trial period ends.

      You have to hit it 3 times within 1.5 seconds each time

    I hope you still work with remote connect. My trail subscription ended and today however I had everything covered to continue the subscription. I have go anywhere service which includes remote connect but now I have issue with vehicle status. It’s not showing correctly. It’s showing unlocked but it’s locked. Will not remote start because of this.

    Alright, guys I have seen a thousand videos and forums on the app not working after it is activated. I have the subscriptions, and the app will not activate. It still literally says we need to verify if you are the owner of the vehicle, it will not activate period. I need help. I can’t find anything.

    Hi Steven -
    My remote connect expired and I renewed the subscription 3 weeks later. The service is still pending activation within the app for over 5 weeks now and Customer service has tried reprovisioning the signal several times to no avail. Would you have any other advice for this? They said I may have to go to the dealership for help which would incur a cost

    Hi. Good information. I've had times when my remote start didn't work, but worked other times. Never checked the fuel level, but it could have been it. I'm actually having more of a serious issue. My remote app shows all the information; tire pressure, milage, open doors, and its GPS location. I can't unlock, lock, or start the car. Called Toyota, and they informed me with 3 different codes that cause the issue. Is there a way to fix it without going to Toyota service? Thanks!

    Hi Steven, I just bought the "music lover" package in the app that comes paired with the toyota remote connect and I cant see the remote start option. I have a 2023 rav 4 le, maybe my car doesnt have it but the app said I could buy the service and remote start. Want to make sure its not me messing something up and see if you can confirm the base model le does not have this feature.

    Sadly, this didn't help me. My issue isn't just with starting the car, it's with Remote Connect as a whole. I can't lock, unlock, or even get status updates from my car.

      Weird thing is the gas and odemeter gives me a correct read. So it’s at least connected somehow. But every time is “we are unable to process your request. Contact the dealer” (I did contact dealer by the way, and they were no help)

      it would start the clock on the trial when it was marked as delivered by the dealership.

      You likely dont have remote connect. It's not on every toyota

    hi steven, question for 4runner TRD OR '21
    i cant use my navigation unless my phone is hook to it (carplay) and my dealer says it does not have a GPS installed or my head unit it not equipped. I was wondering how come there is a subscribed safety connect (SOS) on it, correct my ignorance but from what I know SOS will only work if my vehicle have a GPS installed and cellular service. can you confirm if that is how supposed to work or not? thanks

      The car has its own SMS signal for the SOS button. Carplay uses your phone data

    ....and if you have audio plus or audio premium on the vehicles built after 11/12/18 you have in the fine print a free trial offer remote start for 3yrs or 10yrs at which time you will have to pay $8 or $80 a yr to keep active.

    Hi there, every time I start my sienna 2021 I get this massage from a woman’s video saying “ the communication module has fail make sure there is signal and try again or call your Toyota dealer” I called the dealer and they don’t even know what that message and toke the van to the dealer and they didn’t do anything as well.
    Help please

      It means you have an issue with your DCM or data communications module

    Is the Toyota app only good for new vehicles? I bought my used 2020 RAV4 XLE 2 days ago and when I try to connect the vehicle it says it can’t connect because it’s a dealership or fleet car. Have you heard about this issue before?

      It is likely you are out of cell range. It runs off of the at&t cell system

      You can either contact Toyota through the sos button or uncheck convenience settings in the radio setup menu

    Just had my car updated at Toyota yesterday (6 hours total) my entune app suite FINALLY allows me to input activation code… however remote connect app says “Request could not be completed.” 2020 Camry XSE. Also have the iPhone 13 max pro. Everything is up to date. Any ideas?! It’s been 2 years of no one being able to help me. And now I’ve moved from Florida to Tennessee and I NEED THIS NOW MORE THAN EVER!

    Does having the windows open prevent it from remote starting as well? I left my windows opened just a little, since it was hot out today. When I tried to remote connect start it won’t let me. It’s worked every time before, but didn’t. I’ll double check on it, but that’s good for everyone to know

      Dealer said there's nothing they can do. Toyota service connect costumer service said there's nothing they can do as well

      @@stevenwelchtoyota I do I can lock and unlock with it. It comes up connecting to vehicle but then it says preconditions aren't met

    Steven , your videos have helped me a lot, but I have this issue with Toyota Remote Connect system.
    I have a 2022 Wind Chill Pearl Avalon Limited fully loaded, signed up with the Toyota App at my Dealer.
    I can UNLOCK / LOCK the Avalon with Remote Connect but it won't start the car.
    The Notification went thru your entire list of causes, none applied, and I didn't leave my Key Fob in the Car.
    I should be able to use Remote Connect without my Key Fob, right, leave at home, correct? And just use the Remote Connect System from the Toyota App?

      Does it work with the key fob? Hitting lock lock and holding lock?

      @@stevenwelchtoyota Yes, the Key Fob works great, even from over 10 yards.
      Unlock
      Lock
      .. from the Key Fob is not the issue.
      .. I also got out of the Avalon with my Key Fob thinking I turned off and locked the car but it was still running, thinking the car was locked and shutdown, walked into Target with my wife and daughter, shopped for about 30 mins with my Key Fob in my pocket. Went back to the Parking Spot, tried to UNLOCK the Avalon, but nothing happened, I looked at the back of the car and noticed it was still RUNNING. The Avalon is so quiet neither I , my wife or daughter knew it was still running. Thankfully no one stole my brand new 2022 Wind Chill Pearl Avalon, but I do have something funny to talk about when the FAMILY gathers around Thanksgiving Dinner...haaaaa!

      I have same issue too. “Make sure all preconditions are met” (D5) is the error code
