What's sad is I don't think rappers today will never realize how important James Brown was to rap and hip-hip. James Brown was the most sampled artist in music history and never got paid for all his samplings. Not one dime from the major labels. In the history of rap there has only been two rappers who personally cut James Brown a check for his music -M.C. Hammer and Too Short

He doesn't look a thing like Mr Brown... and yet he completely wiped the floor with that performance. I swear he channeled the great man himself. I don't get why he wasn't nominated for an Oscar for this. I get the film has its flaws - but his performance.... outstanding. I couldn't agree with you more.

If you mean a life story about them like this film, there is one about Michael Jackson called "The Jacksons: An American Dream" also there is one about johnny cash called "walk the line" and also a good one about Ray Charles called "Ray" not sure if there is one about the Beatles but there is one about John Lennon called "nowhere boy" Hopes this helps.

It's so incredibly unbelievable how much Chadwick Boseman look, sounded, and acted like James Brown. He was definitely about the greatest actor, of his era. Just as James Brown was about the greatest performer, not only of his era, but up to present.
James Brown had it hard growing up, and I can see how he became such a hard fighter. But most times a hard beginning is just your training ground, for later in life when God shows you your talents. But I did see some love from his mom, and dad, and his mom did tell him he had a good spirit, working in him.
I really hate that Chazman Bosemans' life ended so early, with all that talent he had, but I suppose he had fulfilled God's purpose, He placed him here for. I know, for me, him making this movie filled in a lot I didn't know about James Brown, who had been like a father figure, or big brother growing up is just how much I loved JB, and he was at the top of my favorite performers. His songs taught, and made you think and feel. This movie also showed the young artist, how to do their own music, cutting out the middleman, and not getting shortchanged. JB was brilliant. Even though he had his faults, he did leave his mark, on the world, for the good he did., and I'm glad this movie was made, because there sure was more to him than what was on the surface. Almost ingenious. Whoever made this movie must have had God's hand guiding, because of the effects this movie give to some of us, and the ending was spectacular. Brilliant, showing him from child on up, with him, and all who came in his life, clapping for JB. Paid the cost, to be the boss.
Under definition of soul, they should have put JB, because he walked, lived, and breathed soul.
Bobby Byrd was his real true friend.
Yes, he was special, all right. He even died, on a special day, Christmas Day 2006.✌🏽❤🙏🏻Rest in PARADISE Mr. James Brown and Mr. Chadwick Boseman 🌷🌲🎵🕺🏾💃🏾

There are many people working on various projects to do bio on singer Sam Cooke. The one Chadwick was offered, he turned it down for two reasons:
    1) he wanted to take a break of doing another bio project
    2) the script wasn't great(Chadwick was also a writer himself, so he could spot a bad script.)

I really enjoyed the movie and the lead actor did a good job in portraying James Brown. Seeing the film made me want to go and research not James Brown, but Bobby Byrd and how they really met. It was interesting reading just to find out how much of an influence Bobby Byrd actually had in the recordings of James Brown. Read about Bobby Byrd on Waikaepaedia and get the real truth. James Brown had the stage presence, that it persona but if not for Bobby Bryd not only discovering James, but being the influence behind most of his hits (without the recognition), we may never have heard of James Brown; one interesting note I found out was that the Gospel Starlighters actually changed their name to The Flames prior to James joining the group and it also tells how they actually met. I realize movies take liberties to change facts around, but it makes me want to see just how close the movie was to the truth, never the less, a really enjoyable movie. If Jamie can get an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray, why not Chad; a performance filled with a lot of energy in my opinion. In closing, check out the story of Bobby Bryd.
