      For me it's the part where he calls it "probably forgotten" because it came out 6 years ago; if i think about it i remember the time between fallout 1+2 as a lifetime, and that was like 3 years? But this, at 8 years old now, and I'm thinking "firewatch old and forgotten? It just came out, I'm so excited to see more of this trend in interactive storytelling"😂😂😂
      Best part of being a fossil who came up when games having graphics was revolutionary; i don't even play them anymore, but l love seeing where the tech(nology&nique) is with RUclips.
      I even find channels full of old games i never got to try, or knew of when i was young

      @Scp716creativecommons did you ever play Mordor: The depths of dejenol? (It had nothing to do with LotR) Man I miss that game. I've been trying to figure out how to get it working on a modern computer. I find older games were simply better then most modern games. Idk if it's a fossil thing, or if they simply were better. I choose the later personally. 🙂

    something a lot of people playing also miss, if you divert your route at any point before entering the cave to find Brian, the locator will start going off. And it leads to a dead deer with a tracker attached to it as well as some status reports. Upon finding this Henry reports it in and realizes the whole conspiracy was a hoax and that camp with the radio tower was just some people performing tests on the enviroment.

    • @genesisbandit

    Firewatch was never forgotten. It's a fantastic game that, whenever I see brought up, is still held in very high regard. It's a single player game that, unless you missed achievements, you can only really play once. Kinda tired of people calling some older single player games "forgotten" just because they aren't highly replayable or some live service that's getting updates; people remember and love Firewatch, it just doesn't require much discussion nowadays.

    So, is the game actually not that complicated? We do our job as a lookout guy, but we eventually cross Ned's path, so she act like she doesn't know, covering him in order to keep her job if the police were to know she was protecting a weirdo in the forest
    She plays along, and leads us to various locations so we don't cross Ned, but unfortunately for her and Ned, Henry is persistant about all this
    One thing i don't get, is the "area 51" sorta place. She seems shocked to know that Ned made a bio of her as well. Again, does she act confused, as it was a plan from both her and Ned to lure Henry, or is she really surprised by this? This game confuses me, and that's what i like about it
    Like you, however, i do think she didn't know about Brian. Or once again, does she? After all, why covering Ned so much? Maybe she was afraid about Ned's secret and her involvement being discovered, and Henry was the man who knew too much about this place
    Another thing i don't get, is Delilah's flirting. Ned heard what she and Henry were saying to eachother, and in a note, he seems jealous
    So was Delilah actually starting to care about us for real? And it wasn't just a plan to pull Henry to her instead of Ned's secret?
    Again, this game has many, many interpretations. And i'm really sad that i don't have a clear answer about Delilah. I ended up caring about her through the game, and i can't get the idea that she "might" not be our ally out of my head
    Or again, is she? I don't KNOWWWW!

    • @genesisbandit
      @genesisbandit  6 месяцев назад +2

      What I truly believe is that Delilah knows Ned is in the park so keeps it a secret, so whenever Henry sees Ned or stuff left out by him, they have to cover their tracks like with the phone lines being cut, or saying it was all because of the people at wapiti station, by planting made up documents about Delilah and Henry, I’m just mad we don’t get a conclusive answer but I guess that is the point of the game

    What a clickbait title and thumbnail. I guess it worked though, even if half the comments are saying what I'm saying. It's a single player game with little replayability, but it was big when it came out and is still held in a high regard generally. It's not a live service game or something multiplayer so it comes out, people play it at the time and enjoy it, and then move on to other games. In five years people will start calling Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 'Forgotten' and 'Rockstar's Hidden Gems' in the buildup hype for GTA 6.

    • @genesisbandit
      @genesisbandit  6 месяцев назад

      I responded weeks ago to the first comment that said something similar but yes the title is a bit clickbaity but that’s just to grab peoples attention, I don’t want it to be boring as I’m not a big channel. The tragic story is about Ned, Dave, Henry and all the other lookouts tragic lives and even if the game isn’t fully forgotten it’s not proactively remembered by all unless reminded. I’m sorry that it can be seen as clickbaity but it’s the only way a lot of people can get seen nowadays and it’s not actually a false title. Going forward I’ll try and be a lot better in the way I word myself.

  • @YukoValis

    I bought it for $3.99 on the ps store. I don't hate it, but I'm very glad i didn't pay the full price of 19.99. The game really doesn't have much going for it other than mystery and an ok story. The gameplay is severely lacking. This is essentially a walking and talking simulator where your dialog choices don't matter. The map is depressing. There's not much exploring to do. No wildlife other than the buck you run into at the beginning. Story is ok, but when it ends, all you'll have is questions you'll never get answers to. Delilah is clearly lying and involved with Ned to what extent who knows game won't explain. Why did ned and Delilah drag Henry through all this? What was the game plan when they trapped henry in the cave?? Did they really burn a forest down just to make henry even more suspicious and determined to find out what was really going on? In the end the one thing this game does right is get you invested mostly because you want answers, only to blueball the fuck outta you and tell you nothing. You never get to meet Delilah, you never understand why ned was soo hell bent on exposing his horrible secret to you of all people, and why the fuck Delilah would help him orchestrate such a weird set of events. Oh and there's no replay value here ending stays the same no matter what choices you made. I unfortunately never found the tortoise and never will. All in all for $3.99 I'd give this game a 4/10 the game is interesting while you play it when it ends you realize your left at a cliffhanger but the show flopped so you won't be seeing the next episode.

    The moment Pewdiepie was attacked and DMCA filed (abused) to take down his Firewatch let's plays, was the reason this game no longer existed for me. To this day, it's insane that RUclips allowed it to happen, considering that the person behind this personal crusade - Sean Vanaman, openly hated Pewdiepie and even said that he'll do this for all future titles of Campo Santo, and that he'll go the extra mile and pull on all of his industry strings to try and cut Pewdiepie off from content that "made him a millionaire".
    Pewdiepie has broken no rules, in fact, on their website it was stated that all streamers have permission to monetize Firewatch videos. It was a personal vendetta from a manchild that decided to abuse the YT DMCA system and his position within the industry, to practically cyberbully a creator for as long as they have a platform. If Sean Vanaman has never apologized to Pewdiepie for this, I do hope the worst to him and that his contributions be erased from the industry because as someone as hateful as him doesn't deserve to be credited anywhere.
    I can like the game all I want but the fact of the matter is that one rotten apple spoiled the whole bunch for me.
    You of course, can like the game for what it is. There's no shame in that. I apologize for talking about an issue that happened 7 or so years ago and that it has nothing to do with the game's story.
