- Easy 20-min. Korean Tteokbokki. Chewy rice cakes coated in a sweet, spicy sauce with fish cakes. A popular and delicious Korean street vendor snack. My version is milder in spice compared to the original which is very spicy!

I love the flavors that garlic and soy sauce add to the tteokbeokki. Normally people just say to add gochugaru and gochujang with kelp for the broth. Always knew it was missing something
Have you tried adding lemon juice, ginger, or some diced scallion? Or a bit of chunjang? It’s delicious that way! Add the lemon juice after adding the sauce…😋.
When the only thing u have is sugar and water 🥲
Awww thankyou for this Recipe!! I really love Tteokbokki ✨😭
Looks great! Your written recipe is so helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
This looks fantastic! Never seen soaking the rice cakes in water before but I think that’s just what will make mine chewy and the right texture for the altitude I’m at, thanks!
I tried it and it was the best thing I have ever tried in my life W
Thank you so much for making it!
Looks delicious
Looks so yummy 😋
Just made it!!! I followed your recipe pretty exactly, I just eyeballed the sauce though but the flavors are so delicious ❤️ it's kinda like spicy teriyaki but with a more aromatic flavor, cause of the fermented paste and kombu... It tastes like something your grandma would make you lol, super comforting taste
Glad you liked it!!
I tried this recipe. It is SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD and so easy. Thanks alot 🥰
Glad you liked it!!
what if i don't have dried kelp?
What can we use instead of gochujang?

Oohh looks yumm ❤i have a question with the koreans like here in india one simple recipie thats eaten over the whole country always has diffrent technique and variations to make for example dal its made diffrent from house to house in india is it the same for korea like do yall also have diffrent ways to make this dish😅 ❤
What’s the difference between the 2 sauces you put in? Gochuchung and gochucharo ?
how much of the gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, and garlic do we need to add?
Same i need to know
could you somehow do those sauce but with the Korean spices and sauce?
The amount of sugar you put.... Seems like the dish will be sweet?
It’s not. (Trust)
Mmmm , that looks delicious 😋🤤.

But am an Indian we don't have them 😢😢😢
U can easily make it at home
But u can make them
Is this to be served as dish or staple food?
Hey! I'm actually vegetarian and i have stopped eating meat/non veg over the course of last 6-7 years, so i would appreciate it if you share a vegetarian/vegan substitute for this Korean Tteokbokki! Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestion!
What can I use instead of gochuchang
where can I find the measurements?
If you want chewy rice cakes try adding sago with it
They sell korean fish cakes really expensively here 🥲 I actually like Eomuk more then Tteokbokki because its so tasty! The broth is delicious!
I like Tteokbokki too though, don’t get me wrong so please send me some, thank you! hee hee 🤣

Is it okay if i dont have gochujang
No I don’t think so
Is it compulsory to use sugar
It helps to balance out the saltiness but feel free to add less if you wish
전분을 좀 넣으면 찐득해집니다.
What are the measurements?

I get it off Amazon
I know I've never seen this in a restaurant. And I think it's because they need you to spend more of your calorie dollars on protein.
