  • Easy 20-min. Korean Tteokbokki. Chewy rice cakes coated in a sweet, spicy sauce with fish cakes. A popular and delicious Korean street vendor snack. My version is milder in spice compared to the original which is very spicy!

I love the flavors that garlic and soy sauce add to the tteokbeokki. Normally people just say to add gochugaru and gochujang with kelp for the broth. Always knew it was missing something

Have you tried adding lemon juice, ginger, or some diced scallion? Or a bit of chunjang? It’s delicious that way! Add the lemon juice after adding the sauce…😋.

This looks fantastic! Never seen soaking the rice cakes in water before but I think that’s just what will make mine chewy and the right texture for the altitude I’m at, thanks!

Just made it!!! I followed your recipe pretty exactly, I just eyeballed the sauce though but the flavors are so delicious ❤️ it's kinda like spicy teriyaki but with a more aromatic flavor, cause of the fermented paste and kombu... It tastes like something your grandma would make you lol, super comforting taste
