    I can always count on somebody on RUclips to walk me through anything I do to my car. Pretty easy but it was a huge pain in my ass for about 30 minutes because I didn't have the right tools. Preciate ya man.

    You are correct about many cars having a belt diagram. As this one does not, and on any car I own where I have to figure it out first, I use a paint pen and write down the diagram with a paint pen on the plastic so I have it right there forever. Post it works in a pinch but if you ever brake the belt unexpectedly, it is super helpful to have a diagram on the car to put it back.

      Also when doing a diagram label at least the alternator pulley so it is easy to follow.

    That's how I do mine. Turn air conditioning and everything else on, tap gas pedal a bit, tighten until no squeal

    Great video with detailed instructions! I loosened the alternator bolt and pushed it all the way back. The new belt fit with ease. I couldn't torque the idler pulley though.

    If instructional videos aren't your thing, just say that. Lol.

    Good videos show the whole process. Before and after shots are useless. Step by Step process is what makes Chis fix so popular. This here is a waste of mega bits.

    Man how did you get the belt on the car. Only thing I can think of is pulling the motor mount to make the belt accessible. You need more than pointing fingers at bolts and then flashing to its done.

      I put the belt on first, then locked the alternator on bottom slot, then torqued it all down. Idler pulley was installed last.

    What happens whenever you try to tighten down the tensioner and the bracket goes with it? I had only realized until after the bracket bent that I had to remove the bottom screw under the alternator to apply more tension to get the belt in the correct space

      Barbara Wolf while your at it consider putting in an oil catch can. This GDI engine needs the can to reduce carbon buildup on valves. Took 30 min to install without drilling.

      @@sniggitty I just purchased a 2013 Veloster. What is that for?

    • @sniggitty
      @sniggitty 5 лет назад +1

      Barbara Wolf read about GDI engines and carbon build up on the valves since their design prevents gas from washing over the valves. I can show u pics of my oil catch can and setup if u want

    Is the belt the same on the turbo? I have a 2013 veloster turbo. But I need to change the belt.

    5:16 video with no actual work shown. Before and after shots do not show which bolts are being loosened and tightened. There is no substance to this video. Here it is before, here it is now that its done, is NOT a video on how to do this. Disappointing.

      Thank you for your constructive feedback. I did not think folks would want to see me turning a wrench especially for just two bolts. I prefer to keep my video's short rather then have someone sit through a person turning a wrench.

      People can always skip ahead if needed. I am going to do this on my veloster so I wanted a detailed video, kind of like chrisfix. Despite that omission video was clear and sharp. Thx
