What makes professor Layton so unique--
*PUZZLE GAME THAT MAKES YOU BURST INTO TEARS!*
MemeLord Kuroe Riiiight? Everytime!
the unwound future 😢
I can't! I won't!
@@joeysingingchannel sToP claire and layton are too much for my hearttttt
And the music is one of the best in the world of video games. I love it so much.
I'll never forgot the moment I discovered that accordions can make one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard
Word!
Its not exactly just layton, lvl 5 company atleast in my experience is known for its amazing sound and music track creations.
Dark cloud is one such series that have amazing rpg sound tracks.
Ma che sei italiana?
@@kurutakurapika1096 non so lei, ma io lo sono
Layton is such an empowering, yet heartbreaking protagonist. With everything he's gone through, he still manages to hold his ideals. And while his emotional struggles are still well-defined, the outside observer wouldn't notice (just like a real-life person in his postion.) It's a puzzle in itself worth solving.
A role model, yet relatable in his failings. I love Hershel so much.
What makes Professor Layton unique?
Its the only game franchise that has made me cry. (Lost Future, Miracle Mask, and Azran Legacy, I'm looking at you.)
sammiety The ending of all of them made me cry! But none more than 3 (Clare, Luke, basically everything), 4 (Loosha. Plus bonus points for the suicide which creeped me out as a kid), 5 (Layton's backstory), and 6 (Do I need to explain what I find sad?)
sammiety The Azran Legacy absolutely killed me.
You missed Spectres call.
Do yourself a favour, watch the movie "The Eternal Diva", it's a layton movie, has puzzle, a compelling plot and actually ties into the story with Spectre and Azran.
@@tsukikagenoknight7915 i've seen that movie already! multiple times actually, its very well done for a video game movie and is actually one of my favorites !!
The Layton games are so damn good! Lost Future is still my favorite in the series. :3
My favorite was always Diabolical Box. The swordfighting cutscene at the end was really memorable too.
DID YOU SEE THE ENDING OF THE UNWOUND FUTURE? NO?
Then that´s why.
I played all of them but Curious Village and Diabolical Box are the best for me.
I cried my eyes out over the finale of The Lost Future... 😢
The professor Layton music is such good study music
Agreed!
Yesssss!
"-lowkey badass attitude."
*shows chibi layton fighting the chibi knight*
I'm so glad to watch a youtube video where someone has all the right facts, explains perfectly and is just genuinely awesome. Great video 10/10 picarats for you good sir.
And oh my god the music! I'm surprised nothing was mentioned about how diverse and fabulous it is.
We've said it for years, and you better believe I ain't stopping now. Everyone say it with me...
Layton for Smash.
I love these games, But man the UK Luke voice is so much better.
Puzzles Pieces I absolutely can't stand his UK voice
puzzle pieces ikr the english voice matches his personality alot better than the american.
The US one sounds like his adult counterpart from the Lost Future
Puzzles Pieces i like the US voice better. Idk, maybe because my 1st game is US version (unwound future)
@@eeeeggnog._. His UK voice sounds like an actual person from the UK instead of a frankly offensive stereotype voice badly done by an American VA.
What makes them unique? Amazing music and completely insane plots 😂 Plus you get fully animated and voice acted cutscenes, which is cool as Hell!
"Tends to favour the puzzles over the story" - I understand what you mean, in that there are a lot of puzzles, but you can't deny the stories are a HUGE part of each game. Good review though ☺
I really liked the video but how can you talk about what makes Layton unique without mentioning the over the top endings?
Dvir Arazi Because people hate how other people tells spoilers without they concern?
7.8 out of 10 for not showing the scene with baby Hershel.
I found this channel by accident and I'm so happy I did! You've made videos about games I love that no one else seems to talks about (Ace Attorney, Zero Escape and Layton) You've gained yourself a new happy subscriber!
All of the characters in this game are absolute monstes and I love it!
so kinda like sherlock but better
Andrea Witzil yes
It's Sherlock themed Indiana jones
The ability to make an actual good video game movie.
Lost Future is amazing!
Excellent video for an excellent series.
I just recently found this channel and have to say that your video's are so on point. From scripting to editing everything fits so well together. Your smoothing voice is a joy to listen to making me yearn to seeing more of your content. This Channel:Is really Unique
So I found you earlier today and have really enjoyed going through your videos that have caught my eye! You've talked about three of my favorite series: Phoenix Wright, Zero Escape, and Layton. The only other addition would be Legend of Zelda. Glad to be a new subscriber!
Since Legend of Zelda would be really broad, maybe do a single title, like Majora's Mask!
That American Box art looks cool,. When i was younger I would have been more likely to pick up the US box,. That my local UK one
Nice video! You totally deserve more subscribers!
Professor Layton is the British Indiana Jones
Professor Layton and the train that decides the fate of humanity
Love your content man, keep it up! you deserve more recognition!!
The one that has massive nostalgia in this room is ....... YOU
Its story.
i hope u get more popular, great channel
no game tells a good story as good as professor layton series
What are your thoughts on Layton Brothers Mystery Room?
Andrew Hall I would've loved it if it wasn't pay to play
You deserve like 100x the subs
I wanna make a professor Layton iceberg, but Im gonna need to do alot of research, dont know where to start.
Ah yes, this reminds me of a puzzle..
professor layton is so underrated it makes me very very sad
While I love the Layton series, praising it for integreating the puzzles in the story flow perfectly while giving "Zero Escape" as a negative example is complete bullshit. In the "Zero Escape" series, every puzzle is tied directly into the story by ebign excactly what the main characters have to solve, while in the Layton series, most puzzles are simply thrown in, while others are obviously not the puzzles the characters have to solve inside the story,
Great video!
never played a Layton game, any recommended starting points?
Either curious village or the last Spector since those 2 games starts a whole trilogy which is brilliant
+Riolukid10 but I think you should start at the lost Spector than miracle mask, and the 6th, than the first, 2nd and 3rd game (that is the chronological order the games take place)
wait "than" or "then
yes, it matters b/c I'm getting confused
+markasscop Arev well yeah I think you should play in the order I mention for a wild ride of story, fun, and the feels.
***** k so its the 4th game,then the 3ds ones,and then the first 3 games?
Agreed Professor Layton is the best and most unique game series ever!
I'm not a professor.... lol
Joshua Layton hahahahahaah
I want a professor Layton for switch!!!
Abram legacy is the best one
*when you realize how hard of a life Layton actually had*
Me : 😢😢😢😢
(Spoilers for what I'm referring to)
(Claire, love interest, dead. Randell, best friend, dead)
Randall isn't dead though, but still
Lost Future still makes me cry everytime
Professor layton, zero escape and danganronpa are some of my best game series.
I hate the Layton series, and strongly disagree with the claim that it "melds puzzles and story perfectly". The puzzles rarely have any basis in the story's context and, as a result, just cause the story to have poor pacing. I'm actually shocked to see someone try to compare it with Zero Escape, since as you said, Layton gives priority to puzzle solving while giving story a backseat, while Zero Escape does the opposite. Due to Layton gameplay's sloggy pace, I couldn't even stand to finish the Ace Attorney crossover.
+OmegaVitaminC He did say Professor feature puzzles over story. However the story in Professor Layton is always pretty good, not as intense as Zero Escape but it has depth nontheless. Puzzles don't come out of no where, and you can skip many puzzles and do it later, if you think it slogs down the pacing. You can explore and find new puzzles, or don't. There is no penalty. I don't know about how the Ace Attorney crossover play like. But I played all the other games, I can tell you the game isn't sloggy at all. Some puzzles also hint at something deeper.
That was just my opinion of the game though, and I understand Professor Layton's puzzle isn't perfect for people who aren't interested in this kind of puzzle. Just that you and I look at this game differently.
I'll just... Scroll past this
I love Zero Escape, and I can see how these two would be compared. But they're really not the same. And imo Layton is just as good
