You're not supposed to take "Eye for an eye" literally

Just for fun, let's take this literally.
Let's say there's some nut that rips another person's eye out.
And as punishment for doing so gets his eye removed.
If he does it one more time, it will leave him blind.
And that's a good thing because it will be much harder for this jerk to find victims.
And world will be safer. : )

If vengeance of any kind had never taken place in human history, how different it all would be.
Thanks for your perspective,it's the only healthy (sane) option.

I'm pretty sure that that phrase is not supposed to be taken literally.

If the whole world went blind what does that say about the world?

It is like our eye lost , we want some others eye. The other guy now lost his eye and he need another guy's eye, when this go on and on, it makes the whole world blind one day.

Completely wrong! It's not a 'vicious cycle' at all. Also, don't treat eye for an eye literally.
Eye for an eye is actually quite close to what a true justice is, but I admit it's not perfect.
Punishing someone for something they've done wrong is first of all a way to teach them how not to behave (there are always consequences to your actions), second to get justice (believe me, you always feel better when someone gets rightfully punished).
Eye for an eye (or revenge/justice for that matter) is not a 'cycle' because it doesn't make us deserve a punishment If someone took out your eye, then you take out their eye and that's it, they don't get the right to take another one of yours anymore. If that was the case, then a judge should be punished for taking away freedom from people (by putting them in jail) and in turn, the people who punished that judge should also be punished...
The notion of eye for an eye is very close to being the right way of dealing with problems, because the effect brings more good to the environment. People with DUI are prohibited from driving a car, illegal imigrants are deported, thiefs give back what they stole and pay additional costs to the affected people, etc. Taking away rights from people who abuse those right is the proper way of dealing with crime.
Also... if most people don't learn their lessons then let's remove all prisons and don't punish people at all :P Of couse some people don't resocialize but that's a fraction and certainly not 'most'.
You talk of revenge as a way of life. Revenge is most commonly associated with achieving one goal and 'getting someting over with'. I someone kills my brother, it doesn't mean I will everybody's brother...
Fighting fire with fire or violence with violence doesn't make us violent in everyday life, it is used only when necessary.

If someone is willing to take someone's eye (i.e. attack them) I don't think they'd have the right morals to understand that theg should just leave it at that after their gets taken out. They would grow angry and enact revengeagainst that person a second time. That would go back and forth until eventually there's nothing left

You also said that if a judge faulters he should be punished, but the people who punished the judge should also get punished. Why? If "an eye for an eye" was so perfectly just like tou say it is then the judge is getting punished because of his mistake; shouldn't be left at that? Just as you said?

there is big difference between justice and revenge - punishing your's dad murderer is justice and killing your dad's murderer's dad is revenge

Why should i not get revenge on those who have wronged me? They hurt me,so why shouldnt i hurt them aswell? This philosophy is the philosophy of cowards and weaklings, such weaklings shall perrish when all things end...

Revenge makes u think it will fill u up, but it doesn't. It's also an endless cycle of hatred.
Someone hurts u, u hurt them back, someone else takes revenge on you for that and they hurt u, and so on.

This as a barbaric and uncivilized philosophy. No one benefits from violence, and the hatred in you will grow and ultimately show when the judgement day is upon us
