★ About this video ★
A few weeks ago, I received this question about our Office Scripts course:
"Before I start the course on Office Scripts, I was wondering if it is possible to loop through a spreadsheet and with each iteration of the loop save the spreadsheet as a PDF?"
I thought it would be helpful to share how to do this.
It is super easy with Office Scripts and Power Automate.

You've just helped a single mother to impress her new managers in her new job...🎉 you are my secret Santa. I am definitely becoming a member now!
Yay! That's really made by day. 😁
I'm so glad I could help. I wish you a very happy Christmas, and good luck with the new job.
This is real caviar. Excellent explanation, highly useful. A great time saver for the company.
Thanks for the detailed explanation Mark.
Thanks, I hope you can put it to good use.
Thank you very much for this update which is changing the methodology of how to deal shortly with any kind of projects. Much appreciated Mark for this valuable information.
The IT environment is slowly changing. So, it’s good to see what new methods are available.
This is amazing Mark! Thanks so much for the video 👍 I got it to work without any problem with your example files. This will definitely come in handy! We have situations where we need to create customized PDF reports for hundreds of clients. Seems like that task should be just as straightforward as the six reports in this example!
Yes, it should work the same with 100’s ad with 6. Though 100’s May take a little while.
You can also use Power Automate to send the PDF’s as email attachments to your clients.
VBA is still an option if Power Automate is too slow for your needs.
Great content. I’ll be exploring Scripts and Power Automate thanks to you. Subscribed!
Great news ✅
Thx u very much 🎉🎉
Thanks Mark. I think this is going to be useful for a project I'm working on. My next step will be to create another step to email out the pdf files to different people... I love a challenge!
With Power Automate it's really easy to send emails with attachment. There is an example in this presentation (already linked to the correct time stamp).

I'm sure you'll be able to achieve it easily.
@@ExcelOffTheGrid Excellent - I will check that out
It will be great if you could take data and send them to a word document template the export that word document as pdf.
The scenario as if I want to generate student certificates from excel data sheet.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Why not just create a something in Excel, which looks like a certificate? Cut out Word entirely.
Great video - thanks for that. I'm not able to visit your website because of an certificate exception.
When power automate converts the file, why does it only convert the print area and not the whole sheet?
That is the same as when Excel saves a PDF, it is only the print area.
I’m guessing it’s because a PDF is intended to be a digital print out.
