Retired hairstylist here….. I love to watch the artistic haircuts on your channel…this particular cut was painful and very stressful to watch, yet I had to see the finale! It all ended well, for the most part, bang area too long for client, not flattering for a woman of that age. The clients saving grace is natural body and soft curls, but the process was so disconnected, a lot of techniques thrown in for show but it could have been done in less time and more organized. Sorry, just sayin!
Maybe this was a joke on all of us watching this video 📹 🤔 Then she had the audacity to take pics of her disaster haircut. If I were that client...I'd asked the stylist to send me the pics she took and then find me a lawyer and sue her for maliciously destroying her hair. No joke. I realize it's just hair but one still has to walk around with this chop job for months or until it grows back.
This gave me so much anxiety to watch with the big old sections and blunt ass scissors. Was this a training video? She seemed to be giving instruction. I hope not😮

As a cosmetologist that does hair, makeup and nails. I don’t think it’s just the cut. The client needs brow work and some light makeup. Otherwise, it wouldn’t matter what hair cut she has. A lot of ladies can look more masculine with a short cut. Including me. I’ve always felt like the shorter my hair the more makeup I need. Just my humble opinion. 💕 I prefer to not put down other stylists. Hair cutting is an art. We all have our own cutting styles. I hope I didn’t offend anyone. Again, just my humble opinion. To all you ladies and gents in the hair, makeup and nail industry, I just want to encourage all. It’s not an easy job, and you will never please everyone. Best wishes! 😘
I agree. I love my short hair and I love wearing lots of makeup too! I have an undercut pixie. I would've never worn my hair like this when I was younger. I'm nearly 60 years old.
I am a hairdresser and I was at min 5:05 when I wanted to snatch those thinning shears away and say, "if you could cut hair you wouldn't need the thinning shears to get you out of trouble." The wave in this client's hair may make the cut tolerable but the over direction all across the back, and the cutting all one direction, makes a really sloppy cut. I am going back to see how she managed to cover the chopped areas and what tricks she used to finish. I may not make it through the entire vid!
Maybe you folks should update your skill set. A few years ago doing a haircut with thinning shears was a thing. This salon seems to be from a different country and just because different techniques are used doesn’t make it wrong! The cut was definitely an improvement to the customer’s hair!
Terrifying. Not especially attractive for face with such strong features and lip "shadow". That cut was never becoming back in the day, her hair is too coarse and dry for it and it was cut too short. She needs more length and large curls to soften her features. I would put a topper on in the meantime
The client was itching and was never wiped off with a towel. Her neck is red from digging the clipper on her neck. It seemed like the lady liked it. The lady needed eye braw wax and lip wax!
I have never in my 30yrs as a hairdresser and tutor have I ever seen such slap dash work, she was literally ripping out this poor lady’s hair, so painful to watch.
For a woman who already has masculine features, this was a very un-feminine cut. She needs to go and see Christopher in Minnesota for the full makeover! He makes older women look amazing and feminine!
38-year cosmetologist, I actually feel sorry for this client. This young lady needs to go back to beauty school. I have judged the vika competitions for students in the state of Georgia, and the students did a better job than this. Please take some continuing educational classes with the state that you're in. Have a great day
@@apwhoa7767 yeah there are some great haircutters on RUclips from other countries like India, australia, etc. If you compare their technique with this stylist's ,"technique"_no comparison! And the music that they were playing really irritated me because it was so not in touch with what the video was showing us
I started Beauty College back in the 60's. We were taught to section hair off. I still like Razor cuts. And over time I don't have to section hair off. Some people still don't know what angles they are cutting. 3 times i e had beauticians to ruin my hair. I still.cut My own hair at 69. 😆 My Daughters long hair, my Son's hair, friends hair, and just poor people that can't afford to go to the Beauty Shop. No charge.
I too learned in the 60's....times have changed...as long as everyone in question is satisfied with a haircut...thats all that matters...I know I was..
@@devong7124 razor cuts are very bad for the hair. They slice the hair shaft lengthwise thus weakening it. It's why razor cuts grow in frizzy. A thinning shears accomplishes the same thing wo ruining the hair.
No tengo idea como se debe cortar el pelo, aún así me parecía que no estaba haciéndolo como profesional y por eso vine a leer los comentarios. Veo que no me equivoqué 🤭 Espero que la clienta haya quedado feliz.😁❤️
I thought I was the only one suffering while watching this and thinking the manner of cutting more than strange! Just being home after a haircut, happy my stylist has been quite different from that!

This is only meant to be an honest compliment from me ( a70 year old woman myself ! Not making any inappropriate remarks!!!! Life’s shouted !!! Enjoy yourselves ❤️❣️❣️❣️❣️
I used to do hair many years ago. This is the prime example why I started cutting my own hair 25 years ago, because someone butchered mine. This person would be fired, this poor client I feel so sorry for. She has absolutely no idea what she's doing. I could barely watch the whole video, omg, Kenneth Siu you are not.
I watch many of these videos but I have to say I have never ever witnessed one like this before! .... I was so stressed out watching how she barbarically copped this ladies hair 😱 it was horrifying to witness... She works with no structure and hap hazardley chops through it like it's a hedge or something ...the finishing product was not a style for that ladies face at all...worst I have ever seen!
It looked like she didn't have any idea of what she was planning to do and just chopped away. I'd be very angry if I were that woman and probably wear a hat till my hair grew out.
I'm this close to cutting my own hair. I'm tired of layers that I never asked for, frumpy bobs, and painful growouts. My hair is long and fine, way past my shoulders and I wear it in a bun or ponytail. I'll just start trimming it a little at a time until I achieve the look I want. What's the worst that could happen? (Then I stumbled upon this video)🤯🤯🤯
@@jbz2291 And yet most people would prefer her company to yours... What a shallow, catty, ignorant remark to make. She did look better than when she walked in. I’m not a hairdresser so would no a good cut from a bad one . There probably is a better style for her . But they made her look interesting. I hope she enjoys her new look. It ain’t easy getting old
@@tinarider9945 not everything is by the book. You can start at the top the sides the back it doesn't really matter, as long as the end result is all blended.
Is this really a hairstylist or just someone with a pair of scissors and absolutely no training? I wouldn't let this woman touch my hair, EVER! 1st of all, She does NOt pull the combed hair all the way out from the scalp before she starts cutting it and the actual cutting is awful, she cuts some of the hair between her fingers and some is left in long strands.. And the sectioning? and and and,...I could go on and on and I'm not even a hairstylist but I know better! This must be a prank video
older, large features like me....that cut is not right for her. She had a nice head of hair before the cut. Makes me afraid to get a pixie, i have same hair, i keep getting trims and use a hot iron.
Yikes I don't know how to cut hair, but love to watch the other hairdressers when I am getting mine done... I've never witnessed anyone cutting hair like this. It's a bad job.
Being an older woman, I am loosing my hair. My doctor said I will have to get used to it. It was long, but my scalp showed everywhere, no mattter how I tried to cover it up. So.... I got it lobbed off - a cut and style just like hers, except with longer side burns.and shorter bangs. I was frightened during this process. My hair was always long. Then I had it colored .... a two-tone dark brown on the bottom and light blond on the top... it looked like that woman's color combination. I sat there, looking in the mirror, not sure I liked this new look at all. But I noticed that all those bald spots were hidden. I immediately began to like it. Ladies, that woman would look better with make up, but her hair cut looks just like mine, which after a few weeks, I decided to keep. Please do not make fun of her, even if your comments were mostly directed towards the final style or the actual cutting technique, your words hurt. I felt them. She felt them. All older women feel it. You have no idea what her life has been like.
I frankly don't understand the negativity. I love the style on this woman and it is very flattering. I was a little confused by the techniques, but I thought perhaps she was trying to do a "choppy" cut, and then changed her mind. The end result is lovely. I always had long hair, but at 69 I decided to cut it short. I think it suits me. I am tired of the "bob" cut that everyone seems to have. If the hairdressers on here disapprove of the techniques, that is fine, they know more than me.
This woman needed a very soft haircut because she is kind of manly features. Also are you sure this hair stylist learned how to cute. I have never seen a cut like that before. Wow
Don’t mind the cut, but not for this lady. Her jaw is way too prominent to go that short around her face. Just a softer bob style with some fringe, some thinning out and tapering would have been more flattering..
Yes a BOB would be fine for her and just having the sides so they would fluff and go back a bit, *to get off the face quite as much as it was when she came in as it looked heavy.. and some spray would help it, and height on top. Teaching this lady how to do it herself at home and maybe seeing if she could get hair spray and it would work better for her? But the 'Bob ' with the right cut, would work out fine as when you have a round face you should have hair under the chin at least that much, but not too long, for the age being older. A shoulder-length is long enough on 'some' older people , but for this lady probably under the chin or middle of neck would work? I am guessing as not really professional but just by seeing her face I would think this.
As a retired hairdresser of 40 years, I have to agree with everyone here. I'm hoping this client was the poor girls mother..... I've never seen a hairdresser lay all that wet hair over a client's face!
This looks like something that would happen to me 😪 sadly, no one ever seems to deliver what they say they can. I never complain, just leave disappointed and broke.
@@stj971 I've been cutting my own hair for year's. Don't like scissor happy hairdresser's Now I have a guy living next door to me who is a painter and decorator but by trade was a hair dresser. I have some beautiful haircuts now,and my hair is in great condition. How lucky am I
With the advent of the bob 30 years ago they got lazy, and no one wants to layer properly. Now everyone has to have that boring old-hat cut. I now cut my own hair, and my boyfriends. This lady needed some length kept at the back.
She was taking huge chunks of hair to cut, chopped at the back...she used clippers to clean up the neck, why in the world didn't she pin the uncut hair up out of the way, and use clippers with an attachment to cut the back in the first place? I was afraid the girl was going to take off an ear the way she was chopping at it. Poor lady. I hope she didn't tip the "hairdresser". That's going to grow put weird!
I think she got her hairdressing qualifications in a lucky bag. Seriously, I've never seen such a shoddy technique from a "professional". I'm not even slightly trained and have ADHD and even I'm not as bad as that!
Ну так по скоренькому , берет пучками , неряшливо, ножницы тупые? Клиентка не красавица, но можно было сделать стрижку другую. Да сама мастер страшная и не ухоженная.
18 minutes that felt like 18 hours. That was painful to watch and it's a terrible cut on that poor woman. I hope it grows out quickly so she can get a decent , flattering cut.
Perfect customization. Beautiful cut that creatively and skillfully took into account the client's two-toned hair color with gray growing in on top and dark hair still at bottom. This was done by a true hair stylist. Too often we are stuck with mere haircutters who give everyone the same cut with no consideration for hair color or texture. This is especially true for seniors who are no longer coloring their hair and have layers of silver, gray, or white, and original hair color. I appreciate the effort put into this cut. Wish you were here!!!
I must say, my favourite part was when she blew the hairdryer directly into the clients face.😂 Poor woman got a shock! Or another shock to go with all the rest.😜
Yes.... hoping the model was a friend or relative.... None too gentle pushing the head around & combing hair into the face ...(not a hairdresser but used to volunteer for professional shows....
The gradual change of color of her hair is really nice. Natural or treated? Well, I’m at the end. Her scissors looked dull and kept grabbing . It was nice to see her smile❤️
True that was interesting to see how she had to pull hair out.. It seemed anyway? I wondered if it hurt the client at all? She had to feel it and maybe wondered if she had any hair left back there? lol
Definitely looks younger with the pixie haircut. Too bad so many people are so doggone critical in these comments. Please think before you feel you must comment with your negativity. It's important to realize, "This cut was not for you!" Move on.
I think client was smiling at the end because she realized she still had her ears, nose and eyes still intact! I had to fast forward to make sure this “hairdresser” didn’t injure this client! Painful to watch.
@@maureenkappler7129 That is terrible, I guess she should have thought twice as you could have gotten an infection or worse. An injury report should have been written up just in case it turned into anything else. She probably did not want that done, to be honest. But for the client, it would be best under those circumstances. i know you would not want to make a scene, and yet you must protect yourself under things like this that can happen. We hate to do it, but it should not have happened at all. "I am sorry" would have been a nice and respectful way to try to make it right. But yet we do not know what the outcome of any accident as such can cause later on and then we do not have proof. But with an accident report, written at the time and signed that something did happen, and explaining how it looked and what was done, and what the client stated, maybe would help down the road just in case. No one wants that to happen but you would not have wanted an infection or died from just getting hair done either. I imagine she wanted it forgotten and to move on, * too busy to bother with more* and not draw any attention to it. Do not think she could have missed what she did? Glad it ended up just fine, anyway.
I am a woman of similar age, strong build and jaw line, and hair, so I watched with interest. I choose a longer, softer end point, a jaw length frothy bob, and try to encourage my waves, with a bit of scrunched in product and I’m good to go, but I thought I might learn something….. I did, what not to do! This makes her look so masculine, it’s too young for her, shows her unfortunate skin on her neck, and will need frequent work. Oh dear.
I was licensed in 1984.I worked in the business for 30 years. I've never seen anything like this. I was a Cosmetology Proctor/Examiner in my state for several years and I never saw a up and coming stylist execute a haircut while taking their exam like this. In my class she would of not passed her exam. PERIOD. But believe it or not...there are stylists in our country who are out there just like this woman. They just don't last in the business because they can't get a clientele.

I am going back to see how she managed to cover the chopped areas and what tricks she used to finish. I may not make it through the entire vid!
Thank you, that's Exactly what I was thinking!
Aha. That is called thinning shears. Drove me nutz and the texture it left behind was horrible.
I am absolutely stunned this service wasn't stopped by a senior stylist.
Maybe you folks should update your skill set. A few years ago doing a haircut with thinning shears was a thing. This salon seems to be from a different country and just because different techniques are used doesn’t make it wrong! The cut was definitely an improvement to the customer’s hair!
I've never seen such a bad hc
I've been a hairdresser for 40 yrs. That stylist needs to go back to school. I wouldn't even let her groom my dog.
This was excruciating to watch but I couldn't tear myself away. What a train wreck.
I felt the same way!
Terrifying. Not especially attractive for face with such strong features and lip "shadow". That cut was never becoming back in the day, her hair is too coarse and dry for it and it was cut too short. She needs more length and large curls to soften her features. I would put a topper on in the meantime
like the never-ending-haircut
@@sheryn6922 right?!?!
I'm 76 and never seen a stylist "attack" a haircut that way. I too couldn't take my eyes off the trainwreck!
The client was itching and was never wiped off with a towel. Her neck is red from digging the clipper on her neck. It seemed like the lady liked it. The lady needed eye braw wax and lip wax!
Well it turned out better than expected!
The worse hair cut l have ever witnessed almost pulled the poor woman's hair out. 1 out of 10.

Why would you pull that woman's hair. I wouldn't let you near me.

38-year cosmetologist, I actually feel sorry for this client. This young lady needs to go back to beauty school. older, large features like me....that cut is not right for her. She had a nice head of hair before the cut. Makes me afraid to get a pixie, i have same hair, i keep getting trims and use a hot iron.
Yikes
I don't know how to cut hair, but love to watch the other hairdressers when I am getting mine done...
But she had nice thick hair to begin with.
Unfortunately, this lady has a very masculine looking face so a slightly longer, softer haircut would have suited her better.
It’s a man!
I DONT THINK THATS A LADY..
That is exactly what I thought and I am still not sure if its a lady or are we allowed to ask that these days....looks like my Uncle

With the advent of the bob 30 years ago they got lazy, and no one wants to layer properly. Now everyone has to have that boring old-hat cut. I now cut my own hair, and my boyfriends. This lady needed some length kept at the back.
Oh, my goodness…the stylist barely combs through a length of hair before she starts chopping away! Was there even a plan??
Like she’s trimming a flipping HEDGE!!
Maybe the customer asked for a short style. I like it. The long hair was pulling her face down. Now all she needs is a dab of makeup.

I can’t even watch. It hurts to see such a terrible job done on a trusting soul.
I’m 1 minute in and couldn’t watch anymore😮
Omg! This stressed me out so bad..I'm a retired hairdresser and this was so stressful..
Another stylist here said she wanted to reach out and GRAB those scissors out of her hands! Watching this ATTACK so did I 😡

18 minutes that felt like 18 hours. That was painful to watch and it's a terrible cut on that poor woman. I hope it grows out quickly so she can get a decent , flattering cut.
This needed to be left longer in the back. The client has a hairy neck, and it’s going to grow right back and look gnarly.
I'm glad someone else noticed the hairy neck, an yet they all assume it is a female customer!!!!🤔
I must say, my favourite part was when she blew the hairdryer directly into the clients face.😂
Poor woman got a shock! Or another shock to go with all the rest.😜

She had to feel it and maybe wondered if she had any hair left back there? lol
