Always great fun to watch the battle reports, thanks all for a great production. Have to say that without the slight miss use of the shaman poison I think this could have changed the result a bit. Having 5 up is so much better. Have to say it does mean the poison to me doesn't look as great as it first did, kinda wish he could put it on a unit in combat.
Great battle report. One thing I noticed, the Shaman cant give poisons or elixirs to units that are within 3" of enemy units. Gives him more opportunities to use his cool spell though :)
I run stalliarch lords for OBR with all mounted units (Arkhan, liege kavalos, and as many deathrider squads as possible). Fast, deviatating, and Arkhan returns a deathrider to each unit and/or wounds to the kavalos every turn. Curse of years to soften up large blocks of infantry prior to the deathrider charge and the liege providing them with plus one attack. This is the sort of list I never see Luca running and one that does well against the mortal wound spam of third edition :)

where does it say that bonereaper can use each ability only once? From what I read they can use them as many times as they like as long its different units that receive and issue the order.
Game would have been quite different if the stalkers were used to tag objectives instead of your upper gothizzar harvester. Just right there you didn't get back any of your 40 mortek guards. Feel sad about this :(
I'm pretty sure that you take control of an objective at the end of turn, so if you move all your units off it you don't take it even if you started on it turn 1.
Yeahh, but I was hoping to see that I wouldn't need to utilise that strategy against the Kruleboyz since they don't have a complete Battletome as of yet. The interaction with the Gothizzar Harvester and the Mortek Guard is incredibly effective...but next to no fun for your opponent and honestly not very healthy for the game in general. I mostly brought them in the hopes of having cool monsters on the table that might gain me additional victory points.

In this regard it wouldn't have worked out because monsters are needed to camp objec, but he had to move up, it would have been hard to keep them together effectively this game. And Matt was very good on his deployment. So Luka could never really camp with them.
Can anyone explain to me why you would have 2 units of spearmen with a decent defensive ability, and one unit of super expensive crossbowmen that can do a TON of damage at range but die like bitches, then put the crossbowmen right up front and the spearmen in back on a flank out of range of any possible charges?
Unfortunatly another game where Luca can't use his Harvesters. Incorrect unit placement lead to not able to use Harvesters main ability to save/return models. Next time take 2 units of Stalkers or Morghasts, or just take Arkhan The Black.
Don't diss the Hobgrots, I managed to kill Yndrasta with them! They are really good move blockers, whilst not great in combat, they can prove to be annoying when they chip off wounds

Drain Vitality can't effect the attacks of the Kruleboyz. You can't have multiple dice triggers and the person who rolls chooses, so your opponent just chooses to trigger the mortal wounds instead. Another thing of the OBR ruined.
@@Blight02 It is an effect triggered by the rolling of a six. If rolling a six triggers a mortal wound or extra hit on a six they can choose to resolve that trigger instead. Only one trigger can be applied now according to the core rules.

The Kruleboyz Allegiance ability isn't till after Re-Rolls are made, i.e. Unmodified Roll. (again, called out specificially in 1.5.5) I.e. They have different triggers and are looking for different things at different steps. So there's no "pick one". There are times when abilities may overlap, but this is not one of those times. You could make this battleplan a lot more wild if you didn't make the 3 objective tokens disappear. Rather, they stack up. So there are literally four objectives in one at the center of the table. Making it a bloodbath in the middle.

Rumors of OBR's complete demise are greatly exaggerated. Just the base warscrolls plus allegiance abilities already put them out of the D and E tiers. We're now bottom of B instead of Top of B. The important thing now is list diversity. No more 3 blocks of Mortek, instead it's 1-2 blocks of mortek then filling in with deathriders. Harvesters and Arkhan are just amazing and the whole army is now just 1-2 drops (since our artifacts aren't 'great' and we get no benefit from other battalions). Also with the changes to battleshock, being fearless is a big deal.
@@SS-vr9tp so named characters are never the "general" as they can't get artifacts or commander traits. Arkhan is good because he can triple cast mystic shield, resurrect mortek guard, and use heroic/ monstrous actions. All for a pretty affordable price.

They would be better off not using the now terrible rdp mechanic and just having access to the generic CA’s. You can’t possibly spend all of your rdp each round, you have one army wide CA (+3 move) that you can use once per turn and is essentially worse than being able to auto run 6 or reroll a charge, it’s terrible. Don’t lie to yourself. Maybe what GW should have done is bin rdp and just let OBR heroes generate a couple extra CP each turn to represent their “martial prowess.” Bottom of b tier isn’t a good thing, and they have no chance against mobile armies that can project power.

In 3rd edition, Kharadron Overlords with 400 points of Fyreslayers (runeson on magmadroth w/ 10 vulkite Berserkers, exactly 400 points) is going to be a deadly force to deal with. Its hard as hell to get Fyreslayers off an objective, and they have melee that KO doesn't. Long explanation, but thats allies

The unit of mortek guard that’s strung out in a line at 42:17 is definitely not coherent. You said that they are because they’re on 25mm bases and there’s no gap between them, but 25 mm is 1 inch, so there’s no way that they are are within 1 inch of two or more models

No they are coherent as an inch is longer than the base of a 25mm model. This includes their ability to fight in two ranks naturally. So in a line, as long as they are all directly base to base, they are always within 1" of at least two other models.

I learned the hard way not having Harvesters up in the mix. They are useless otherwise. Get them in and start smashing. And rebuilding dudes!!

Hob- goblins are goblins that live in houses, and are generally less feral...
I feel bad for OBR...they get nothing from all the new command abilities, unless I am mistaken.

Technically 25.4mm is 1 inch. So it means that is coherent RAW, but totally not RAI

OBR are often just draining to play against. Definitely my least favorite army.
