The scary thing about the AC4 soundtrack is how each song almost perfectly matches the mood and tone of the mission it is created for. I have never seen it done this well in any medium.
I think it's more accurate for the most part to say that it set or created the mood and tones for each mission. Try playing it without the background music or you could try switching and mixmatching the BGM with the missions to see differences or similarities in the effects.

The city of Farbanti, notoriously known as the "flooded city" due to the asteroid crater impact upon high tide and the large landfill is not that far from the center of the city as I remember...
I remember the last time I played this mission vividly. 7 Years ago, I was doing another ace difficulty run and I had taken everyone but yellow 13 out. On this difficulty he took about 5 missiles to shoot down and I remember as I got the last off on him and he looped back around above me. Both of our cockpits were facing each other and it felt like time slowed to a crawl right before the missile made contact. It was like the two of us shared a moment only 2 opponents could share before his plane burnt up, it was poetic.

He and Yellow 13 have found a rival in one another - Dare I say, opposite sides of the same coin. The final battle with the _real_ Yellow Squadron is always an emotional one for me, because it means bringing to close a tale of two aces - Erusea's gentleman ace, and ISAF's ribbon fighter.
I really despise that Ace Combat 7 ruined the look of both Anchorhead and Farbanti, the latter being the most egregious error. When I played this mission for the first time, I, without thinking, did the exact same moves on a cruiser as Mihaly did in AC7, in what looks like the same place even. I only realized two seconds after that ship was destroyed lol.
I once flew head on at the yellows and launched all 4 XMAAs at Yellow 13 (I presumed he was the guy at the head of the formation). I flew through the awesome fireball... It was glorious... Then another time one yellow glitched out and flew outside the border. So I had to fly alongside him until he decided to fly back in again... It was really weird...

Besides Megalith Agnus Dei this is definitely my favorite song of the game, maybe on the same level, since it plays when you finally get to fight Yellow 13 himself. canonically, Yellow 13 was trained by Mihaly before the Continental War... during which time their aircraft touched mid-air on three separate occasions... twice it was 13's fault, resulting in only grazing each other, and the third it was Mihaly's fault when he imitated 13's maneuver and gave him a taste of his own medicine. I recall that the third incident destroyed both aircraft, but left the pilots unharmed.
I made this one up at the end of mission. Tank commander: Attention Resistance fighters and command of Erusean forces This is the Lead commander of the ISAF 35th armored battalion division, we have your compound surrounded, you cannot escape us, we request that you lay down your weapons and come out with your hands up, if you seek to resist our request to lay down your weapons we have no other means but to fire upon you... open fire! I wouldn’t think so. I’d think yellow 4 was trained by yellow 13 thus their intimate relationship in the game.
@@DaVinkiee thanks for telling me about who trained Yellow 4
canonically, Yellow 13 was trained by Mihaly before the Continental War... during which time their aircraft touched mid-air on three separate occasions... twice it was 13's fault, resulting in only grazing each other, and the third it was Mihaly's fault when he imitated 13's maneuver and gave him a taste of his own medicine. I recall that the third incident destroyed both aircraft, but left the pilots unharmed.
I made this one up at the end of mission.
Tank commander: Attention Resistance fighters and command of Erusean forces This is the Lead commander of the ISAF 35th armored battalion division, we have your compound surrounded, you cannot escape us, we request that you lay down your weapons and come out with your hands up, if you seek to resist our request to lay down your weapons we have no other means but to fire upon you... open fire! (gunfire...) (static...) return fire! (explosion...)
One of my favorite video games ever. I come back to it every weekend! AC1 - ACInfinity :D
Ace Combat 7 brought back this level and did a remix with the same music. Even brought back Stonehenge.
Those yellows never stood a chance.
