One of the many factors l do appreciate about the Big Bang it did end at the top of their game not in the basement I was a fan ( comic guy and gone thru Brief History of Time more than once) right from the start I would have been disappointed if they did the sit com swan song with cast change and/or bring in a shoe horn character The characters that were added were organic they reflected the personal growth of the boys and Penny It was sad yet it was time Good stories have a begging a middle and an end

I've no regrets for the show ended for two reasons - it's hard to keep on bearing Sheldon's behaviours. 2. Watching reruns over and over still feel like something new. Still gives laughs as before.

I guess Parsons has taken some heat from fans. . . and to some extent. . .by TBBT cast members , many of whom will never again approach the success of the show. But i've also read that Jim Parsons really had started talking about having enough after 9 years , but. . .in to a large degree. . .continued for 3 more years before finally packing it in for the sake of his castmates and the entire production team. I loved this show, not only for the great ensemble of characters, but also for memories of my late brother, who I'm reminded of so much be several of Sheldon's traits! Ian won a national Maths competition and topped the national Scholarship ratings in the Science category at high school before gaining a 1st Class Honours degree in Maths at Rutherford's old Uni. It was somewhat disappointing that he didn't continue in academia, as his PhD Superviser would have been Prof Roy Kerr (as in the Kerr Metric)! On Sundays, it was the duty of my wife and I to calm his frustrations about those of lesser intelect (even in his work in Meteorology), in much the same way Amy FF and Leonard did with Sheldon!
I'm glad they didn't try to keep going for one reason. When other shows try to move on without a beloved character, it ends up not feeling as wonderful and fresh. Leaves a bit of a hole. Imagine NCIS without Gibbs. Or Grey's Anatomy without Grey. Yes, they've done it on those shows but its just not the same without the main character. A bit lackluster.

The analysis there isn't quite right. Although Sheldon was have a final Sheldon spree towards the end there, they started arcing his character towards the final epiphany for several seasons. Starting around season 9, you can see little deliberate arcing moments where they make Sheldon more and more compassionate. It was done very deftly and is an example of the outstanding writing behind this show.
I watched an episode the other day where Sheldon and his girlfriend are out doing their thing and the rest of the gang get together and honestly, I enjoyed the gang and their interaction and jokes - which were more Adult issues Sheldon clearly is a little boy trapped in a man's body - it was funny at first but it dragged on too long The jokes and observations are truly childish

I remember when this show first aired... I didn't watch it. I remember seeing the show come on and I changed the channel or turned the tv off. I never watched it, I wasnt much of a tv fan, I havent had a tv for five years now. All I see of the BBT is on my phone. The show is so funny. I enjoy every video I can find. I still havent seen an entire episode from beginning to end. Of all the shows I never watched from the early 70's to .... five years ago, I wish I had watched this one. I'm sorry. Everything as a shelf life
I remember when this show first aired... I didn't watch it. I remember seeing the show come on and I changed the channel or turned the tv off. I never watched it, I wasnt much of a tv fan, I havent had a tv for five years now. All I see of the BBT is on my phone. The show is so funny. I enjoy every video I can find. I still havent seen an entire episode from beginning to end. Of all the shows I never watched from the early 70's to .... five years ago, I wish I had watched this one. I'm sorry. Maybe they can bring it back as a bunch of rich old Scientists with crazy experiments, some good some bad. One or two of their kids could have intresting roles? BRING IT BACK!!!
I've watched and enjoyed the shorts but I've yet to watch the show.
The early seasons are great. The later seasons, not so much.
It had to come to an end with the ending it did ,why because Jim's(Sheldon) character worked tirelessly to achieve his goal of earning a noble peace prize , and eventually he (and Amy) did just that , so sorry to say but,it could not of continued and it finished with an Amazing big bang .
