im so sad im just now seeing this video lol. this was so helpful for me i would have loved this when i started out!! i been struggling haha. thank you!!!
I use a combination of a couple of the methods you demonstrate. I wrap my hoop with Coban and use "T" pins to hold the stabilizer. I haven't hooped fabric or a garment in decades. I have a couple of Bernina 830 machines that have the capability of moving the design in the machine to correspond to the markings on the fabric eliminating the need for gadgets for aligning fabric in the hoop. For very precise alignment I digitize a specific basting box around the design, stitch it out on the stabilizer first then I align my fabric to the that outline on my stabilizer. For me, my method has always worked successfully.
I have a husqvarna sewing embroidery since 2015 I’ve have only had a quick half hr training which of course did nothing. I have since only used the sewing part of it. So hoping to learn more
I learn everything about embroidery through RUclips. There’s no other place where you can learn the theory behind this art form. I hope to one day learn to digitize. Right now I just want to learn to run embroidery designs correctly. I’m very grateful for your generosity in providing this video. I’m wondering if you can show at some point what a design should look like on the back and samples of bad vs good and why?
Hey Ninette! It’s great to see you exploring embroidery on RUclips! I totally get your interest in how the back of a design should look. We can deffinitely create a video that shows comparisons of good versus bad stitching on the back, so stay tuned for that! It’ll really help you understand what to aim for. Happy stitching, and keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for this. I was on the fence, but your video caused me to realize I just "have to have" these. The ability to do the EB stuffies will be a game changer for me as I do quite a lot of them and am always wrangling with the stabilizer and hooping. Ordered from you since your video sold me on the system. Great job!
John, every video I watch, I find myself adding items to my wish list! Wish I had found your business 20 years ago. Can't imagine what I might have been doing by now. Thanks so much.
Wow thank you Jhon for thw tip to pre measure the thikness of the fabric!! I always fight to get my projects hooped tight, because i tighten my hoops to much and thwn its a struggle to get the fabric in...and i always have burn marks. Now its goung to be a breez... Thank you for the valuable info.
I am glad I saw the comment about pacemakers with the mighty hoop. If I had purchased that I would have had to return it. I have a pacemaker. Thank you for this video.
What a wonderful legacy! My husband bought me my first single needle machine eight years ago today, and I ha e loved machine embroidery ev we since. Love your hooping techniques!
Thank you ever so much. I’ve just started machine embroidery and I’m at my wits end. I have a gorgeous Janome 550E and no matter what combination of fabric and stabiliser I use I get puckers. I’ve thrown away more fabric and stabiliser than I can really afford.
Just new to machine embroidery and am looking forward to watching more of your videos to learn all I can to stitch the best looking pieces I can. Thanks for the videos!
Thank you for this really helpful video. I have found that hooping brings me out in a cold sweat, but since I have used your double sided sticky tape method, no problems encountered. Again thanks a million for these tips.
Thanks for the kind words :) With all the content we continue to release it is not possible to do one-on-one classes, we do periodically do virtual and interactive webinars on various subjects.
Great info. I had such a big problem with hooping & puckering when I first started with embroidery. Still trying to improve the quality & my ability to quickly hoop well. ❤️👍
Dear John I have learned alot from your video! Thank you for all the great tips, I would like to know where can I get the hooping station you used and the magnetized hoop I have a janome 500e embroidery machine, and the biggest hoop that I have that came with the machine is a 7.9"×11". I would love to purchase one of those hooping stations, I live Ontario Thank you . Sandra.
I learned alot about hooping. I have been using the t pins since watching this video. I love how they hold the stabilizer so taut during the embroidery process.
My auntie wears a 2X sweatshirt and I absolutely loath hooping sweatshirts especially larger ones. I can't seem to get the sweatshirt tight enough. I will try your method. Thanks bunches.
Thank you John, I enjoy watching your videos. Gave me really good tips on hooping, even though I have been embroidering for over 20 years. I do enjoy your video's. I have my hooping stations from Gary as I am just down the road from him. Thank you again. Regards Caroline(Queensland,Australia)
Thank you for this very informative video. Hooping is a Rey difficult task to do! Thanks for making it look easy. Can you do a video on your best tips and tricks to help center items on hoop without a hooping aid? Thanks
Thank you for all your videos special this one . It's really helpful. I have a question. is this magnetic hoop works with Alliance single needle babylock?
Thank you John, I thought I had learned everything one needs to know about hooping but you have presented some new ideas and tips I had never seen before.
John, I have a SWF 1501 and use Hatch v2. I know you explained why round hoops are so much better with reducing fabric shifting, but I'm seriously looking at adding a mighty hoop or other magnetic hoop to my system. I currently use a large DURKEE 12"x12". What's your favorite magnetic hoop and what would you recommend for my large embroidery of motorcycles which is mostly done on Dickies workshirts or cotton poly blends.
Matthew Caswell we got the full range of Mighty Hoops with our new ZSK. LOVE THEM!!! Wish they would have been available when I was a commercial embroiderer. Well worth the investment in my opinion.
Wow! I really needed this info as I always seemed to struggle with hooping. Always enjoy listening to your instructions which are so explicit. Looking forward to learning more techniques from you. 😊
Great videos, learned I had a passion for Embroidering, recently. With the help of these videos and Digitizer’s Dream Course I will be an Expert Digitizer sooner then later.
Very interesting videos and valuable information, but can we get the products which were shown in the video in India. Thank you very much Sir for providing valuable information.
The hoops with the small red pieces, are they magnetic? I have a pacemaker and am wondering if there are any metal hoops that I can use. I also have a Husqvarna embroidery machine.
