I built a dedicated Harlequin Rasbora aquarium in this 60cm aquascape. I love the way it turned out and planted aquariums are perfect for this species and they love swimming in and out of the plants! I needed to move them from the large aquarium because I have big plans for that tank with the Electric Blue Acaras!!.

You should take part in Team Seas!
big fan btw. can you make a bala shark aquarium. you can mix them with other sharks as well
I love the finished tanked but I also loved the hardscape before you couldn't see it anymore 😁
I don't often leave comments but I am taken back how impressive your scapes are mate, they just keep getting better and better.. I started watching your videos from the beginning and honestly you've taught me so much I thank you! I have been really into my fish all my life but nw aquascaping has taken over and the tips and advice you've gave me has helped me become pretty good...keep on doing these videos mate they make my week
Cheers Mark, that's really great to hear :)
LOVE the darker substrate MD! The moodier colours & red moor roots definitely give this tank a slight Halloween-y vibe, can’t wait to see this one mature 😍
Love the scape and specially when you completed the hardscape and added the moss, I went "WOW", it looked so aesthetic with just the moss also. But the final look is super lush and am sure the rasboras will love it in there :)
Yes♥️🌿🐟🌿🙏
Love how he says over time the wood will change colour n match, yes it's true. But we all know MD, you will change the scape in a month. It looks amazing as always well done.
This was definitely a “trust the process” tank because the whole time I was screaming “no it’s not centered!” But I absolutely love how it came out and the balance it ended up having. The colors and textures were so artfully arranged. It was beautiful.
Kept thinking that the dark "substrate" was just going to be scattered beside the rocks like you usually do. Shocked me when I saw you spreading it all over! This was a cool surprise, the substrate being dark contrasts so well
Each time you build a new tank, I think, that's my favorite! Then another tank is done and I'm like no wait ...that's my favorite! Keep making beautiful tanks. 🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠
I feel you - Lets see how long this one stays the favorite :D
Honestly your a part of my nightly routine your videos are so therapeutic and put me to sleep. I love watching the videos and viewing the great aquascape and plus the fish!!!
This tank looks amazing dude OMG!! Look at the colors of the plants against to this incredible fish. Well done!!
I can see why this size tank is so popular. It allows for a lot of plants and a good amount of small fish, especially schooling fish which are so popular in the hobby. I think you Rasbora are going to enjoy their new setup.
This is absolutely the most beautiful planted tank you've ever created!
Hands down, my favourite scape. Every single bit just clicks. I liked it with just the moss, but when you started adding all of the things it just went straight into artistic mode. Love the redmoore wood and the red plant pop ups. After this, i think i still got a space to fit another tank in my room. Well done!
So, I'm a total aquarium newbie! I just upgraded the 29-gallon I had to a 65 gallon and I decided I want to get it as decorated/planted as I can afford before adding more fish (right now it's looking pretty sparse, not gonna lie), only... well, I've had a really hard time visualizing how I want it to look -- I'm not experienced enough with aquarium plants to see a picture of one and think, ahhh, that'll look perfect next to this other plant/behind this rock. Plus, the variety is overwhelming! It was really nice to watch what you've done and which plants you used, and it helped me feel confident when I bought some plants of my own.
I have a bunch of java ferns - which are propagating like crazy - already along with anubias nana, so I got java moss, anubias nana petite, and cryptocoryne petchii like you used, and then I branched out and got some alternanthera reineckii mini, red flame echinodorus, and cryptocoryne wendtii. I'm hoping it'll be a good mix of back-, mid-, and foreground stuff along with some driftwood. I still want to buy some rocks and a big piece of manzita wood to stick in there upside-down, but that'll come later!
Holy crap, you are really talented MD Fish Tanks!
OMG dark sand looks so good😍😍it made all the green and red plant's colors pop up more than normal sand
MD you should enter an IALPC just for kicks, I have faith that you will place well 🙂 you have a great eye and talent for aquascaping.
I wont place well as im not an ADA fanboi 🤣 (place my scapes are no where of the level)
@@MDFishTanks That's hilarious! 🤣
@@MDFishTanks Well I have to admit that this is one of your best scapes yet, looks so natural and full of life. Once again you have outdone yourself, 👏 amazing job.
I would love to see you utilise your small tanks you had your shrimp in to breeding pairs of certain (small) fish only having 1 male and 1 female in there with a small scape
You are a truly talented artist! I love the ocean blue and how it contrasts against the oranges, greens, and reds. It's stunning. It reminds me of a rainforest jutting out from a river. Well done :)
2:28 ah… Crocs with socks!! The secret to withstand days on end of aqua scape maintenance. Love it! 👏
Okay, this is my favorite fish tank you’ve done. Absolutely beautiful.
Superb! Love the tank, loved the narration, music was cool, your video editing chops are outstanding! Super enjoyable to watch, and inspirational as ever!
I think the black subtrate is great and the fish will love it
I'm so excited that you made a tank for Rasboras. They are delightful.
The landscape is just fabulous. I love the color of the gravel really shows off everything.
Love the scape. Love adding snails to tank. If they multiplied we can always get puffers
Looks great, really like the dark substrate, rasboras are going to really pop in there
Beatiful aquarium. Rotala on the back and alternanthera on the front added charm.
Wow! The colors on those fish are amazing.
A thing of beauty. The rasboras are so easy and overall healthy fish and makes a great choice for a fully planted tank with the reddish orange against the green. I combine them with chilli rasboras for some scale, pygmy cories, Amano and cherry shrimp and rabbit snails!🪴🥩🍒🌶️🐌🌿
The substrate is perfect for this tank and makes a nice change.
Over all of the videos ive watched, this has to be my favorite scape
I recently rescaped my tank with black gravel and it's really made my ember tetras and blue fork tailed guppies pop!
I think this is my most FAVOURITE tank in your studio just tempting to me me one 😅
i agree with you as i also keep sanils in my tank and they are doing a really nice job
Yep if snails multiplied we can always get puffers
I absolutely love that dark substrate! Gorgeous scape!
I've been following you for a very long time, and I thought I was up to date with all the videos you posted, but it seems not.... today this video appeared in my recommendations. it was an unexpected surprise 🙂
Omg I haven’t even gotten to the end of the video and I’m already so happy you did the dark “slate” substrate. Love a good dark contrast!
This is my favorite scape in your gallery now! Something about the dark substrate with the black background with the popping colours from the plants and fish. Looks beautiful! Great job 👏
This is the most stunning tank that I've seen on this channel . My previous favourite was the River styled tank
One of my absolute favorite tanks, watched a ton of you videos and this dark substrate takes it to a new level. I think the bulky ferns detract and hide the wonderful hardscape. Some more Buce would have been my preference, but bravo. Thanks for the hard work and for sharing your skills with us.
You have an amazing talent for building an aquarium. I love to see how they turn out when you get it all put together.
This set up is stunning. Think I'm going to have to rescape my tank now
Really like the dark substrate. I’ve got lamb chops and harlequins. Love their colours. Looks great
Always love your series! Also, I didn't think the gap looks odd. It kinda looks like a dark cave (could be the camera lighting) @ 16:12 . Thought that "cave look" was really cool too!
This is my favorite tank you've made
Very nice. Such a good design of the underwater world in such a small capacity.
I am now sold on dark substrate and black background. The colors POP
My fav look is black substrate, always and forever!
I love how your scapes are evolving. Amazing editing too. 👍
Harlequin Rasboras one of my favorites. Great scape!
Cracking job on this MD, love the contrast of the quins against every. Perfect choices, even I doubted the substrate choice but was spot on!!
This scape is by far one of the best I’ve seen. Great work MD. So tempted to scape another one. 🐠
You never fail to impress me with each set up you do. Each one is ncredible and beautiful. You're talented
So much care and preparation! Thanks for sharing this informative video!! 🐟🐠🐡
just set up a 20 gallon tall for my new betta, drew a lot of inspiration from you and i think it turned out great. thanks for being one of my youtube aquascaping mentors!
I just saw the thumbnail and I already know this tank is going to look amazing 🤩 keep it up md u inspire me every time 👍
Really beautiful set up and complements the rasboras so well! Always love your work!
One of the most beautiful tanks you made
I noticed recently when looking for scape inspo that you don't often use dark substrates, which I basically only use! This looks AMAZING! Just the style I am trying to incorporate in my tanks, & any / all buce are sexy. I'm addiced to them 😂 Really cool scape :)
Love this scape. You really inspire me to try out of my comfort zone
The Gravel Looks fantastic in there 😀
Have to admit that the scape wasn't doing too much for me until right at the end, then it all seemed to come together. Clearly you had a vision ... Nicely done!
Great end result! Black substrate works really well!
Very nice. Got a small nano and I'm gonna follow and do something like this. Less plants. I really like when the driftwood shows more.
Fantastic scape as always. I love the darker substrate. I missed you coming into the studio " like you always do ".
Beautiful build, I've learned so much from you're video's. Thanks for all you do
ELECTRIC BLUE ACARAS NEXT 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Apistogramma is so beautiful, Amazing fish
Not about the latest beautiful tank, but about your info on lights.
I wanted lights for indoor plants, well between: red blue light, white lights, spectrums, watts , lumens ......
I watched your lighting video, went out and purchased a standard, average every day, white light bulb from the supermarket, and after a week and a bit things are looking promising!
Thank you!
WOW ABSOULUTELY STUNNING... GREAT WORK....
I gotta say, you did a phantastic job on this one MD! The tank gives me such amazing vibes, I could sit in front of it for hours and just loose track of time looking at this...
I´ve been a long time viewer, all the way back to where you had your little shed in the garden full of tanks. Over the last few months I´ve developed this feeling that because you´ve been scaping so many tanks, the setups slowly started to get a little repetitive. Don´t get me wrong, I still liked most of them a lot, but I was kind of missing a more sophisticated aquascape in my opinion.
Now of course it´s your own personal choice how to set up the aquariums and I appreciate your idea of keeping aquascaping easy and budget friendly while still creating pieces of art, but I gotta say today's video was quite an unexpected though very welcome change! I think the use of those branches, together with the black substrate and the varieties of greens and reds just did it for me! So congrats!
I also liked the overall style of today's video a lot, it seemed more relaxed, not quite as hectic and the choice of music was great. Because of that I could really focus on the creation of this stunning work.
So yeah, just wanted to let you know my feedback and give credit where credit is due! Keep up the good work, I´m looking forward for more videos like this in the future!
I love harlequin rasboras. Theyre a very good schooling fish. They look good in any planted tank. Also, incredibly hardy and easy to keep. Perfect fish for beginners. As always, amazing aquascape. Have you ever entered any competitions?
This scape is awesome, MD. I wanted to thank you real quick, man, cause you've inspired me to try my hand at some eco-system tanks. I'm so excited!
This is absolutely gorgeous! One of the best tanks I've seen you do!
Love it, you should try using New Zealand iron sand, you don’t need nutrient layer its black, looks amazing and grows plants beautifully
Can you plz do a project for a Dutch style aquascape 🙏😁
Man I'm jealous of all the stuff you have been able to source. I have such a hard time finding resources here in my area
Oh, this is a very beautiful composition. I love all the plants you have used
been waiting for this video for so long, keep up the good work
This tank is so beautiful!!! The music was a great choice by the way❤️🇺🇸
One of the best looking tanks so far IMO. Great job!
I love pretty much everything you do… but this one… well it’s one of my faves.
Dude...Lots of channels can be a bit pretentious in this field around creating beaut aquascapes, you just smash it without all of that cost and fuss. Much kudos, great to see your skills improve at the same time as mine! On the journey together. Next...Marine and Reef - I just ventured and its a whooooole different world but PRETTY EPIC.
That's some stunning coloration on those rasboras!
Fantastic! Lovely aquascape :)
Have you considered getting any loaches (in general - not for this specific tank). They will dig through gravel, flattening the substrate and uprooting the plants while hunting for snails, but they’re energetic and derpy - really entertaining to watch, I think you’d like them. Botia striata are more chill / community friendly - yo-yos act like they’ve snorted a thick like of coke (at least mine do) so not great with slow moving fish.
I will admit 90 litre is one of the best sizes, as that gives you a giant variety of fish options
WOW!! I absolutely LOVE this tank!! The colors of the wood plants substrate and fish all compliment each other so beautifully!! All of your tanks have been such an inspiration but I have to say this one has been the most inspiring for me. I am curious to see how it looks throughout the next few weeks before it balances out. Do you have a video explaining new planted tank set ups on fertilizers and beneficial bacteria? I was wondering if you have a favorite brand also. And how often do you test the water perimeters and what do you test for...also do you have a certain brand you like to use for that too? Sorry for all the questions...I am about to try a planted tank. I just want to get it right if I can as to not waste a ton of money. Sure I know its a learning process but if I can avoid some fails that would be great. Again gorgeous tank!
I am in love with the scape!
I love the way you have done the plantation, an amazingly beautiful scape, got a lot of inspiration to try something similar. Kudos to you for sharing your hobby. Probably it's only me but I see some white spots on the rasboras Hope I am wrong and they are healthy.
Your channel could also be called “MD Plant Tanks”. Your plant scales are amazing! 😎
you are thhe best at aquascaping
beautiful hardscape, wonderful aquariums, I set up an aquarium based on your videos congratulations
OH MY GOSH THATS REALLY AMAZING....
You always make the best looking aquascapes. Congratulations!!
Never seen a filter that can sit in the corner like that. Awesome. A small one would of worked well in my little setup. Unfortunately im using a hangon which i dont necessarily like
Gorgeous - reminds me of water shores south island of New Zealand.
TWent a little overboard on the planting for this one 😂 Classic MD lol I loved the look about half way thru planting! Thank you for the vid!!
Really cool natural looking scape! I looove anubias petite and the dark base is a fun switch, always cool to see you try new things!
the cinematics of this video was 🔥
Really amazing scape MD!!
