I have a 2008 2.0 auto titanium x hatchback and 2010 1.8 edge estate and never had anything go wrong. Both are very good cars and look good 11-13 years on
I test drove a passat 1.6 fsi 2006 and a mondeo mk4 2008 and the mondeo has better quality plastics inside,is much more comfortable and has better steering and handling. Also better realibility. Fsi engines are trash
Did I hit a nerve? If you like the mondeo, that's perfectly fine, I didn't. I did however own this one for 6 months and my opinion didn't change so I'm afraid there's no hope for me.
Tbh after watching a fair few review videos for the mk4 i'm more inclined to believe the reputable review channels than some random guy who admits he is biased against fords. I get my Titanium in 3 weeks and having already driven it, i'm sure you're missing the point of a well looked after mondeo
I have an mk4.5, and have to say that nothing in what you said is true, really nothing. And I'm not a Ford guy or anything, I like whatever drives well. Got the Ford because of the size, diesel engine and got a very good deal. Only downside to me having owned a Toyota previously, is the blody gearbox, wich you mentioned nothing about.
Which part was untrue? I had quite a few positive things I mentioned in the video. Are you saying that those were wrong as well? That's one of the great plus points in this was the legroom and luggage capacity, which I did point out. Gearbox problems? This is something a genuinely hadn't looked into on the MK4. I'm quite curious now.
@@autofanatica944 The negative stuff, I really don't find any that you did. Maybe it's personal preference. About the gearbox, mine doesn't have an issue, It's just that previously owning an Avensis, there is no way to shift as quick and smooth. And it can also decide at random times to have stiff to engage first gear. That's my only complain about the car.
I'm not doubting that it's good value for between £900 and £2k in the current market but I can buy so many things for that money and I personally have bought many (9 this year so far). I just don't like them. I've mentioned this to a few commentors now, you do you. It's a free market and I'm not stopping you from choosing to buy Ford if you want. I will buy Ford and BMW but probably for resale only as it's not really my thing.
There isnt a mk6 mondeo for a start. These are very reliable, and the zetec is bottom of the range, poverty spec, exactly what do you expect? The txs has more toys than a german car costing twice the price. The injector issues were mk3's not 4's and I've never seen one with a starter issue. The 2l and 2.2 are psa lumps by the way, not ford, that are very well known for being rock solid, and even better than Fords own 1.8 lump. They are also known for having better steering than anything else in its class.
Did I say something about a MK6 at some point that I've forgotten about? I don't remember. The Titanium X models would probably not have a lot of the issues I spoke about on the video as most of my criticism was in the aesthetics. I didn't say one way another in this video who built the engine nor did I think that mattered too much for this. I take your point though as I did say "typical Ford" and it's obviously not the same whiny sound you get from the MK3s. I also don't remember mentioning starter or injector issues in the video. I also don't remember discussing reliability that much in this video either. Almost all my complaints in this video were on the fact that I personally didn't like the interior or exterior styling and I didn't particularly like the way it drives. I've said it before and I'll say it again now. If someone owns a Mondeo and enjoys the experience, that's fine. If they disagree with me, more power to them. I just don't share that opinion.
You mentioned all of these things in the video description. There isnt a mk6 mondeo, the vignale isnt the top spec either. Also the mk4 had several high end options, the titanium business, the tit x and tit x sport. They're all fantastic cars. My txs 2.2 has 450nm torque on overboost as standard and is rammed with toys, it's never missed a beat and I haven't had a single issue with it at all. The ride is great and it flows around B roads. These were also built in Belgium and the quality shows, they're more reliable than the mk5s even. Check out Alan Howitt on here, he services mk4 taxis and swears by them, they're all on well over 500k miles
Would you be interested in re reviewing a mk4 mondeo at some point? Ive got a lightly modified 2009 titanium x sport with the 2.2l diesel engine id be willing to let you review
Yes......... I'd like the chance to show the differences between a Zetec and a Titanium spec. I've been thinking about looking at more Ford products too. I met someone the other day that is a Probe enthusiast. Has 2 for spares and one running. He seemed to think no one would be interested. I told him people would probably love to take a look. I never really gave them much thought years ago but now there's so few left and people don't give them much love. The main issue I have is time. I'm trying to get the footage I've got ready and I'm working on a video of the Defender 110 just now for someone (I've always had a special place for the defender) and I had a day to film it cut short by work calling me in on short notice to handle a problem. :-( I currently have 5 days at work and 2 days with the kids. It's not leaving me any real filming time. Drop me an email or a PM on facebook if you want to organise something. Thanks for the offer too. I do appreciate it.
It is my most hated review......... Had a guy in the comments offering me to take a look at his Titanium. That might give me a chance to have another go at it.
what are you talking about ?!?! did wv pay you for this? have mk4 ,2.0 duratec, 290 000 km, with 0 problems... its drivers car, and by looking at you, you just drive.. 124 200d is for you, sleepy sheep
I don't have sponsors. I just work in the taxi industry where a lot of drivers have saloons and I get to see how long they last and how quickly they deteriorate. I've put several Skodas and VWs over the 400k MILES not KM. Not found a Mondeo that's done that yet. I'm not saying they don't exist but not in my experience. I am more of a Merc guy myself. I did a review on the Viano 639 and I admitted bais there but I did look after a fleet of 5 of them.
It sounded like you called me a paid shill that doesn't deserve an opinion because you think, just by looking at me, I don't know which end of a wrench is which. That's not exactly a good way to start a constructive debate now is it? If you had a point beyond insulting me because I don't agree with you, I'm all ears. I also want to add, if you do like the mondeo, fair play. You do you. I have no intention of stopping you. Also, where we you in the comments when I praised the new Ranger for being the best pickup in it's class (in my opinion)? Will you be happy when I eventually get round to doing the new Mondeo and have much better things to say? We'll see.
Check out Alan Howatt 's youtube channel, he's looked after fleets of every mondeo since the early 90's and praise's them as an amazing taxi vehicle. Js
hes just slapping his jaws for the sake of it mondeo is a good work horse

There is a reason taxi companies purchase these cars , what would you say that was ?

This is a great car, he just want to downgrade. If you look at the passat prices this is a waaaay better car!!
you sir have no idea, this is a huge amount of car for your money on the second hand market.

Straight up he's down on it. Mondeo is a great car .. esp the Titanium diesel models. Economical, great handling nice set of features.
does it have mark3 16" wheels and balloon tyres? that wont help handling
are those 225/60/16 tyres ?
