- President Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida held a joint press conference in the White House Rose Garden Wednesday to discuss new collaboration efforts between the two nations. The two leaders discussed an enhanced military and intelligence partnership and a focus on economic cooperation. CBS News senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang reports.

It's not difficult to figure out. How do you think you maintain a cease-fire? You maintain it by having enough weapons and firepower that if the other party breaks the cease-fire, then it runs the risk of being in a worse position than simply maintaining the status quo. That's how agreements are maintained, not by trust or goodwill, but by risk analysis and self-interest of all parties.

We can find various speculations on the interpretation about the US side taking a more proactive stance towards preventing conflicts in East Asia at this Japan-US summit meeting(Kishida-Biden).
I have one concern regarding this matter.
Historically Japan, being free from the fear of being labeled anti-Semitic, has been more sympathetic and supportive of the Palestinians than Western countries.
Washington, which wants to continue supporting the genocide in Gaza until "the Final Solution", does not want Japan committing it negatively to Washington.
I am apprehensive that Tokyo has made a deal with Washington for the security of East Asia and the lives of the Palestinians.
