Watching the story as a social worker, and i am so proud of my career. We dont look at children with truancy issue as criminals. We believe, there's still alot to unravel, understand the root cause and adress that.

That Karura mention....I think we need to recognise that this over spirituality makes no sense if you are not balancing with your responsibilities. Alot of us neglect our physical responsibilities.

I had to come back 06/27/2024 to watch this a second time. Akina Boni are this generation's Matiba, Raila, Jaramogi, Muite etc. I always respected him but what he did this past week was epic.

It is important to note that approved schools were started after the emergency in 1952 (the emergency was basically a declaration of war to the people of Kenya), so as to facilitate the jailing of under age men convicted of being mau mau. They were not started to necessarily help us, but to to jail us, as per the international laws (it was illegal to have under 18s in adult detentions). You can read more about them in Britain's Gulag, the brutal end of empire in Kenya.

Kids need just need love, structure and their basic needs met, which gives them stability and orientation in life. This is resilience on another level.

I think Kenya and China must be the only countries that has a business of hiring disabled people. Its diabolical that someone saw a profit margin and was willing to invest the upfront costs to hire the beggers
