Hi Curtis! Hm, that doesnt sound right at all. Maybe I explained that section poorly. At the end, I was showing, if you really want to lean into the build and practice the different elements, it can reach that level of dps. But that means you have to use trap, dps ultimate, light weave your skills, etc. It was just kind of demonstrating that there are more levels to the build that just pressing 2 buttons in solo content and if someone had the interest, its not "hard" to maintain the upper 60s - low 70s area without even changing elements of the build like cp, food, attributes, etc. If you notice, the clip shows the dummy at 90%. That was intentional. I waited for the spike from the initial ult use to plateau out, to not inflate the numbers. If anything, I showed the low end of what is maintained on the dummy. As you use ults from there, it spikes up a while and plateaus back down.
@@Dooma I think I noticed what I did wrong, I took flare off and added scholarship but I didn't add the ulti. I did go to vet vateshran and try this build today and completed it in 45:26 lol. Very close to under 45 but it has been awhile since I ran that so this build can easily get the under 45 mins and no death achievement because it felt like easy mode compared to the oakensorc build I tried it on a long time ago. Just need to run it a couple times to get back into it and remember all the mechs. Thanks for replying!
That’s honestly really awesome. I’ve been waiting to hear how it is working for people. I’m really happy it’s chopping through the content like that for you. And awesome job to you for flying through vvate after so long away. 💪
Thanks man. Im an older combat vet that doesn't have all his joints tight anymore. New games get frustrating when I can whizz around like I used to. Thanks for these builds. You helped put some joy back in mine and others like me again
Yessir! You are very welcome Shynobi. You are exactly the type of player I made these for. I am glad they made their way to you. I appreciate the comment. 🙏
I still dont understand why this guy isnt one of the biggest ESO content creators yet... this is by far the highest quality ESO content available on RUclips. I really, really appreciate you for putting so much time into making those incredible videos! Thanks Dooma!
Thank you BDC. 🙏 I don't know what to say. I didn't expect to wake up this morning to this degree of overwhelming appreciation and kindness from everyone. Thank you. This comment section today has given me a lot to think about with just how much there is a need for modified builds for players to this degree. Both from a want and need standpoint.
Due to my physical condition, I had to think a build like this with my arcanist but I didn't thought of this way of doing it, thanks to you I will be much more efficient in my solo runs !!
The IQ power needed to make some of the builds you come up with is insane... Ppl have over complicated so many builds that work less effectively than this one. It takes a true genius to streamline things like this and you sir do it effortlessly
I'm not exaggerating when I say in the decades' worth of ESO channels that I've come across, this has to be one of the most relevant and applicable channels out there.
For those new to the game your are very lucky to have Dooma dropping builds like this. When i started it was rough and the guides were basically figure it out yourself. Plus for new people weaving takes time to get use to it and for folks like me (after years) got it to 80-85 percent (miss a few here and there) but I rolled tanks and heals so make sure the trail dps was 100 percect weaving damage. For those that been around the block in ESO can appreciate the creativity of these builds; i know i do. Ty for the time spent figuring out the builds. As usual well done n appreciated
Thanks to this build I could complete the Maelstron Arena for the first time. Also I have been doing regular dungeons only by myself, thank you so much, bro!
I would drop Flare for Scholarship and use the Tide King's Gaze ultimate. Those 2 alone and you will see a big step up in damage. If you arent using Ring of PReservation ever, you can drop that for Fulminating Rune or Unstable Ele Wall as well.
Just dropping in again to tell you how much FUN I am having with this build. Just smack things in the chops three times with flail, and then beam them down like an insect under a magnifying glass. Just love it! About to die? Cast your ulti-bubble and spam flail. This thing just cannot die at all unless you stand in red or suck on someone’s one shot. Don’t tell my Main but this is the funnest thing I’ve piloted in ESO to date, bar none. Thank you so much for this!
Ah man, that’s a build endorsement right there haha. Anything that takes YOU off the Magsorc is doing something notable. I am REALLY glad you are enjoying it so much. Made my day reading.
Honestly when I was playing a ton I love doing rotations and parsing and doing trials. But I quit for 3 years from the constant grind. Recently started playing again and love the one bar builds. It’s nice for my busy life. I can even toss my controller to the kiddos and let them do a few things. It’s great.
I am really glad to hear that AZ, thank you for sharing. In the script I actually had "and the builds even allow some parents to play ESO with their very young children" but I removed it from the final draft for some reason (probably time.) It's amazing to see all the areas these type of modified builds add value to people's gaming lives. Thank you for watching and the comment. 🙏
Thank you :) Now my freshly CPed arcanist has a great foundation. I already changed something because I simply didn't have the skills yet and because I like to press some more buttons, but the foundation is very solid and fun.
You sir, just got a new subb thx for the good stuff in this build guide video imma put this all together right when i get back home tonight to try this!
Yup, I knew there was a reason I made a High Elf Arcanist and just leveled all the skills/morphs, all so I could sit it aside and never play it. I will be running this for the foreseeable future. Much appreciation.
thank you so much, this video added your channel to my list... I'm older and have trouble with the two bar builds. Oakensoul was a game changer, and this will be too for my archanist build. So glad you posted it. Peace!
Good job, your builds are unique! I personally moved to easy version of 2 bar Arcanist, but for my other chars I use 1 bar mostly. Will recommend your channel to any new player :)
Omg This build is insane for me. I actually used my khajiit and have cleared lots of veteran dungeons. I admit, I am not the best at playing ESO but I love the game. This has transformed how I play. I just don't die. I cannot emphasise how great this build is. Love it, thankyou so much Dooma.
WOW just found your channel, I play ESO solo mainly due to sight issues. I have yet to figure out how to talk to people but I'm afraid to since I am slower than most following maps etc due to my sight. Thank you so much for your videos. handicap people rule!!! Much love.
Having a blast with this right now, thanks a bunch for the build , I've been playing Season of Discovery since it came out so I didn't play Eso since necrom chapter released, now I got bored of WoW and came back to Eso ,bought the Necrom dlc and made an arcanist, this is the first build I made on it and it feels like a cheat code. Still gotta get alliance war skill tree to level 7 for the flare but even without that it's super durable and fun to play.
i am rly enjoying this as a solo build , also thinking of replaceing oakensoul with velothi to make room for some more skills for utility on the backbar . Thx for the build :D
I have found every piece of the oakensoul ring except for the petrified oak loop, the lead for which is in Murkmire, which is locked behind a paywall I can't afford right now!
Thank you for making this build! A question regarding dps, will there be any significant damage difference if I replace Briarheart set with deadly set and lightning staff for dual Hexos daggers as some of the passives from dual wielders also boost damage? And the Hexos jewelry traits using bloodthirsty instead of robust?
Hi there, you are very welcome! You can swap Briar for Deadly, but you'll lose out on the passive healing from Briar, so as long as that isn't an issue for what you are doing, you are good. You can also totally play it as dual wield, but that trade off is losing the ability to play a bit more from ranged and kite with flail's immobilization, further mitigating damage. Same thing there, if you are good with that, you are good to go. I wouldnt recommend using Bloodthirsty as it only applies to damage and not any sort of non-damage based healing you would do. There is tons of wiggle room in the set up for all kinds of personal changes as well. I wouldnt be afraid to try anything out that interests you. 🙏
This is my new favorite build. I mostly play solo. Did Black Drake Villa solo last night, on normal obviously🤣, without a problem. You can even stand in stupid and not die🤣🤣🤣
I started playing very recently and watching your guides, I love your guides, thank you very much. I've been choosing a rotation for my Arcanist and I'm between this video and the other video called "This will change the way you play arcanist", which would be the best overall? Thank you very much for your content, it is very necessary for many and for me hehe
Hi Cesar! You are very welcome and thank you for the kind words. These two builds are worlds apart. The other one is primarily for pvp and takes a decent understanding of the games mechanics along with a solid apm time (pressing keys fast). This one is the opposite in every way. Mainly for pve, much slower, laid back, and relaxed pace. It just depends on which you are interested in and what you want to do to say which is best. You could learn them both over time and then you will be good to go for pvp and most of pve with just 2 simple builds.
@@Dooma Oh wow! thank you so much for writing me and for a detailed mini guide for me, I appreciate it so much, now I know which one to choose, I won't despair hahaha, as you say when I progress more in the game I will have the option to use the 2 builds and it will be great. Thank you again!! And have a very beautiful weekend
You are very welcome and I'm so glad! You are fully good to go with Gold Road with no changes! Thank you for the comment and apologies for the super delayed response. 🙏 I am just returning from being out from surgery.
nice! just what i was looking for, although i thought i'd do it with a magicka character. going to convert my stam arcanist and see how she fares with this. many thanks! 👍🙏
loves your builds. Was wondering what builds would you recommend for a 2 player group? Me and my wife play ESO casually and are looking for 2 builds that will let us basically as much as possible without having to use pugs.
Hi there! Honestly, anything will work in that regard. (Side note: SUPER awesome you and your wife play together!) All classes have strong solo set ups and then you can tweak set ups to compliment how you are playing together. Add more cross heals, add more tankiness etc. I would absolutely recommend to use whatever classes you are enjoying the most, and theres always a way to make it work in ESO.
Hello! So i just started following the build and i figured id ask; Why a lightning staff over, say, double daggers? Daggers would give more crit as you can run 2x precision, and for enchantments you can run flame and poison or something Also: what do you think of becoming a werewolf for extra weapon damage and movement speed?
Hi there! Next time you are in game, go to the Destruction Staff skill line, scrolls down to passives, and check out the Ancient Knowledge passive. The TLDR is, with a lightning staff equipped, you increase your direct damage and channeled abilities by 12%. Both abilities used for this build, benefit from the passive. Also this is intended to be an adaptive build for players who need a bit of support. DW is great, but lightweaving would be required to maximize it as you are saying with enchants since there are no weapon abilities on the build being used. I havent play tested this at all for a WW, I couldnt even begin to guess how it would perform haha.
Hey Dooma, would it be plausible to a 2 hander instead of a staff? Using Smash, physical, lingering and min force to gain another damage type along with minor force? Or is the staffs status affects buff just that much better? Your video's are great btw, keep it up! Your video's are the reason I came back to ESO after a year or two break.
Hi there Kevin! Thank you for the kind words and welcome back to ESO! Here is what I have been saying for this specific question: Lightning Staff is most ideal for this set up due to passives and solo quality of life things. You can technically run whatever you like, as long as it is sustainable. You'll just have some differences in damage output due to weapon passives, and if you are light weaving or not. Dual Wield is a fantastic secondary option here (you can add Deadly Cloak from the skill line as well to the bar that will synergize great with the set up). It's a solo build, not a parsing/group dps build, so there is more freedom/wiggle room to work in whatever you enjoy most. Lightning staff passives are very straight forward for this set up so it also makes it clear to understand what is going on with the damage increase it's adding to our 2 abilities on this set up. Specifically this passive: eso-hub.com/en/skills/weapon/destruction-staff/ancient-knowledge I hope that helps with your decision and thank you for watching!
Great video, but I have a question about the weapon. Why destro staff on a stamina build? I would understand if it was for the lightning heavy attack passive, but I think I am missing something here.
As long as its sustainable, the resource type for the weapon isnt (much) of a factor anymore after the hybridization, with some outlier scenarios in there. For this build, you will spend most of your time in beams and most of the time not beaming, using flail. 100% of this time is boosted by the lightning staff passive 12% damage buff. Also, in solo content, there are lots of benefits of having a ranged weapon, but all of those aside, simple pressing flail and beam, the lightning staff will leave you with a permanent steroid buff to the majority of your damage.
@@Dooma Thanks for the informative reply! I've been away from the game for several years, and so much has changed. Watching your videos has helped me get caught up again.
Hello Dooma, thanks for this build, really looking forward to putting it together, but I have one newbie question: At the end of the video you mention weaving in light attacks and using the trap, could you quickly summarize what that means exactly? My assumption is: LA Recouperative Treatise LA Barbed Trap LA Cephaliarch's Flail LA Cephaliarch's Flail LA Pragmatic Fatecarver And then just reapply Treatise and Trap when they run out while just spamming 2x CF+PF with LA weaving? Last thing: Would any other weapon be more damage if I don't mind its LA animation, or is Lightning Staff BiS? Thanks alot in advance and for the guide!
Hi there! You are very welcome! Are you familiar with light weaving and parsing at all in ESO? If not, here is a short explanation: www.thegameroom.tv/guides-animation-guides Note: This is a VERY old video from my early days in content creation, apologies for the cheese. Some of the addon stuff is outdated now (or totally irrelevant if you are on console) but the technique is still identical in todays game. I recommend giving that a watch and the short supplemental vid below it. That will make some sense with the light attack situation. Regarding the skills. "And then just reapply Treatise and Trap when they run out while just spamming 2x CF+PF with LA weaving?" You nailed it 100%! 👏👏👏 I recommend keeping lightning staff for sure for this set up. This is due to the Destruction Staff Passive: Ancient Knowledge - Inferno Staves increases your damage done with damage over time and Status Effects by 12%. Lightning Staves increases your damage done with direct damage and channeled effects by 12%. Equipping an Ice Staff reduces the cost of blocking by 36% and increases the amount of damage you block by 20%. Taking out the lightning part: "Lightning Staves increases your damage done with direct damage and channeled effects by 12%." Flail is Direct Damage and Beam is channeled. So this passive will juice the majority of your damage, regardless of light attack ability. Plus it allows you to play slightly from ranged, kiting backwards in beams and using flails to immobilize chasing enemies. I hope this helps make sense of it and thank you for watching!
@@lukrvs Hi there! That is something that was changed after making this video. I spent a day on stream running various content after this change and the build still performed totally fine. You just don’t have the no damage heal any longer.
I have a Dark Elf Arcanist and I don't know what I done wrong but my Max Magicka 15606, Max Health 24384, Max Stamina 30152, Spell and Weapon Damage 4869, Spell and Weapon crit. 41.9%, Spell and Physical penetration 3323, Crit and Physical resistance 1320, Magicka recovery 1009, Health recovery 2896 Stamina recovery 2493. I use the same sets with the same enchants and traits like you, I done the attribute point and CP setup like you, same mundus stone, same food buff. The walking minotaur boss in West Wield has killed me in 10 sec
Hi there! All of your stats are off from what is shown in the video. You may have other things going on impacting the performance (although I am not sure about the boss you re talking about and how it would work specifically against it). I would check out # 2b here for starters: www.thegameroom.tv/build-faq Also, regarding health and resource recovery amounts, roll your tri-pot and then check again, you are likely missing the major buffs from it (fortitude/endurance/intellect) when checking (also make sure ult is charged to 500).
Hi Frost! I really wouldn't recommend this without Oakensoul. It takes away so much, and after trying to squeeze back in as much as you can, you just cant get back to the same level without adding a bunch of buttons to press, which kind of changes the whole nature of it you know? If you are going to end up pressing a bunch of buttons anyway, it's best to just scale up the build to accommodate that, rather than work harder for less output. That's my suggestion anyway.
Why would you use two Fighter's Guild abilities with Slayer for a 6% increase to weapon and spell damage over Tome-Bearer's Inspiration which gives 20%?
Hi There! The 20% you are referring to there from the abilities tool tip, is from the buff Major Sorcery. That buff would be redundant with Oakensoul if used in that way. I do talk briefly about using the ability you suggested at 7:16, but for different purposes however.
Hey, a little question regarding the build.... Are there cheaper alternatives for food and pots than takeway and tri-pot? Would be great if I could save some money on the easier contents :) Thank you in advance!
The slightly scaled down food is Dubious Camoran Throne, but it doesnt include the health recovery. You should be honestly fine without it and the food is much cheaper. For potions you can craft or buy bi-stat potions, so Health + Stamina and save a little cost. If you cant craft them you may have to get someone to craft them for you. They go by the same name "Essence of Health" and its not super often bi-stat is crafted and sold. You can find some around though. I just checked the traders outside Vivec as I am typing this and one of them had a few. There just isnt much out there. You know what I would try, that I never tried while play testing I think. Why dont you go out and do any sort of solo activity, but only use a basic health pot so you get Major Fortitude and a good chunk of your health recovery. You may not need Major Endurance from stamina part of the pot. Feel that out a bit, if there is no stam sustain issues for you, that is going to be an enormous savings on potion cost for you. Let me know if you don't mind and if you try it out, I'm curious myself now haha.
Hi, nice video. I wanted to ask you 2 things that don't add up to me: 1) why use staf? Being a stamina based character wouldn't it be better to use a 2 handed weapon? Or if you want to keep your distance, use the bow? 2) why the snake? I've been trying it for a while and I don't have all the items in the guide yet, but it doesn't seem to have any resource issues, wouldn't it be better to use the stone that increases the critical damage chance, since the build benefits from it? 😊
Hi there! Since ESO was hybridized, the weapon chosen is often more about the weapon passives. For this build, the specific staff type shown is going to have some of the best passives to make things simple and effective. It also allows you to play a bit more from ranged to kite as needed, using flail snares while kiting backwards and beaming, keeping a more safe distance than what a melee weapon would allow. The reason we are using the Serpent Mundus is because we don't have a way to return stamina when our resources are low, since heavy attacking with a staff will return magicka. Having the serpent mundus rolling in the background will help keep things afloat in tense moments. If you find yourself never having sustain issues at all, than the Thief mundus will be a great alternative for you, increasing your crit chance. (you need a higher crit chance to take advantage of crit damage.) Great questions and thank you for watching!
I'm only 40 but I can already tell my reaction time is dropping and my ability to keep up with everything going on is dwindling, thank you very much for doing what you do even if the tryhards don't agree with it. I have always believed that mmorpgs should have the ability to be played by everyone and not gatekept.
😅Hey now, I make these for you as well lol. Seriously though, I'm glad it helps with the chill time. I get it. I'm not trying to sweat every time I play either. I run around with 1 bars half the time or more myself now.
@@Dooma I've been running the one bar arcanist build (with minor changes for my play style) and beat vma for the first time on my first try with only one death. Definitely got likes and a sub from me haha.
Hi there! I am working on adding scribing skills to builds now. I am doing it on stream for everyone to see/have access to as well if that is something you are interested in.
Hi Brony! My original version of this has Reaving Blows, but since this build will be for many players who won't be light attacking, or potentially hitting buttons very fast, Reaving loses value at light speed here. Truthfully, I didnt break down by the numbers which one is superior on the high end of apm. It was important to me to put the superior option for the low end, and in that case, Focused Mending is definitely the better option. Especially considering how Fatecarver (beam) doesn't procReaving Blows, and players will be spending long periods of time overall channeling beam. With Focused Mending, this way, at least the Briarheart heals rolling in while beaming, will be strengthened to help a player recover. I hope this helps make sense of it and thank you for watching!
Awesome I'll have to give this one a go but i wounder is it possible to run a sword and board instead i could really see this being a kick ass hybrid tank and if so what skill would you recommend switching out for a taunt?
Hi Synergy! I would love to help you there but my content is kind of "all things but tanking" haha. It's just one thing I don't do so I don't have a lot of experience with it. We do have a 1 bar tank build on the website from The Fox Den that you may be able to pull some inspiration from. I know Nine-Tales personally tested it in Veteran Trial content. www.thegameroom.tv/arcanist-builds
Tried adding Glyph of Weapon Damage to jewelry even though it's only for weapons. But, it's the only one i could think of for "weapon glyph" for jewelry. Can anybody give a bit more clarity to which one it could be? Thanks!
Hi, I would like to ask, in the video you talk about Restoration staff and its bonus, but you use Lightning staff, a bit confusing, so what staff do you recommend to use? And what passive bonuses do you have? (I guess all class bonuses + all fighters guild bonuses and what else do you recommend for this build?(all lightning staff bonuses?/other guilds like undaunted or mage/psijic etc., anything from them?) I'm totally new to eso and I'm looking for a build like this so I definitely want to try it, so thanks a lot. The only thing I'm missing in your video/written guuide is what passive bonuses I should have, as a new player I don't really know what is important for what build and so I would like to follow the advice of an experienced player/creator of the build, yknow.. Would it be possible to write in a reply here or in the written guide what passive bonuses players should have for this build? It would be great! 🙂
Apologies for the confusion, just ignore the resto staff part, youll want to use a lightning staff. The resto staff was just to demonstrate Radiating Regen in its "strongest form" vs. the health recovery in the build. (When you equip a powered resto staff, the tool tip on Regen will increase, giving a higher value). Regarding passives, here is a copy/paste from our Discord to help with this question for newer players: Passives in ESO are very important for builds to function properly. At minimum, as a baseline standard, you always want to have the following passives, for every build for every role in the game in combat related content: 1) All Class Passives. 2) All Weapon Passives of the weapon types you are using. 3) All Armor Passives of the armor type(s) you are wearing. 4) All Racial Passives. 5) All Guild Passives of the ability you are using that will increase output or sustain in anyway (EX: Fighter's Guild passive Slayer, Mages Guild Passive Magicka Controller, etc.) 6) Alchemy Passive Medicinal Use 3/3. 7) Both Undaunted Passives --- Once you have excess skill points you can circle back and fill out the passives you missed like the misc. guild passives, world passives, crafting etc. But as a minimum baseline, you should have enough skill points to get all the passives from # 1-7 above, on every character, on every build. It is a lot, but its part of the grind of ESO and why grabbing skyshards and things like dungeon skill points along the way are so important. Just about every player in the game, at some point, has had to circle back and farm more skill points to round out a build until they had enough to where it didn't matter, so being short early on is totally normal. While this is probably not the answer you wanted to hear, there are 2 good takeaways: 1) Once it's done on a character, its done. You never have to worry about it again for that char. 2) You now have the knowledge base and confidence to not have to worry about "what passives do I need" anymore. Now you know, every class, every role, every combat related content piece in ESO, you should at least have 1-7. I hope this helps!
@@Dooma Oh, thanks for the reply and explanation. I'm pleasantly surprised. (I have experience that a lot of video/build creators often don't answer questions...) 🙂 Is there any way to get/get access to your discord? (on your website there is only instagram/youtube/twitch but I can't find the discord...)
You are very welcome, happy to help! I have always said, if someone takes the time to leave a (respectful) comment on my work, I will take the time to acknowledge it. I've tried to stick to that as best as I could. With the size of the channel now, it's kind of impossible to keep up with daily. I do answer some here and there from my phone when I have a minute or whatnot, but I usually let them build up for a few days then take a block of time and catch up on all of them. For example, just out of curiosity, I started a timer on my phone, I am about 90% done with the last 2 days of comments and I've been at it (intently) for right at 2.5 hours now. Nothing too crazy there, but definitely a notable block of time out of the day, that has to be continuously happen to stay caught up. Replies to replies are a little different at times, they get buried much faster (like this one here), so sometimes those slip through the cracks. I took the time to say all of this just to share from a creators side, especially those that may be bigger than myself. Their comment volume is probably fully overwhelming and other than random things here and there, they may just not have the hours in the day to respond to people while also creating work for their platforms. I just went around and deleted our Discord link off of all the platforms as well unfortunately. We have it temporarily locked down. There are some attacks going around and we just want to keep it stable for all the people there until the dust settles. Ill make sure to make an announcement when it's open again though!
@@Dooma Thanks for the answer, yes it's true that with so many videos with so many comments I can imagine that it's close to impossible to answer everything. That discord is sad, I hope everything will be fine soon! BTW, since I like the way you create videos/builds for everyone (one bar/1 button/pvp/IA etc..) and for each class, I'm considering to join your channel and support you a little bit, so do you plan to continue what you're doing? + Also keep your builds updated on your website (for example there will be a new DLC in July, yknow...), according to the patch, etc..?
You are very welcome and I/we absolutely do! We are expanding out the side with a Gold Road section like we did previously for Necrom as well. I have about 2 more weeks of builds coming out, then there will be a bit of a shift to streaming for about 4-6 weeks for PTS play testing and opening weeks of gold road live server game play, then cycle back to more youtube, and likely repeat. There wont be zero youtube uploads during that time, just less. Right now I am dumping all of my back-logged content I have built up before this current patch ends. When u42 begins, I'll start that cycle again of building up build content and publishing guides. It's a bit cyclical. It takes time in game to build up a flow of builds, and I usually share a large portion of that experience through streams. That's the tentative plan for now. I keep things flexible, but in general, that is what I am aiming for as of now. That way you have a clear picture of what you potentially would be supporting in the short term.
@@mikestubeviews9973 Some builds keep slipping through the cracks of updates and stay relevant. I am making my way through the Necro builds again now, but at the start of u41, that solo necro build from the site coasted right through vma/vate.
Hi Curtis! Definitely! If you look at the CMX's in the end clips. The lesser bosses took about 2 minutes and the final took about 6. This is also with me simulating someone moving slower on they keyboard, not light weaving, not using trap, and just sticking to flail/beam, and on veteran.

could you swap hexos with mechanical acuity or another damage set or would it cause you to lose too much defense? i’m trying to think of something that would be able to make it outperform as far as dps and maybe be able to bring into trials
Hi Cjl! Honestly, I would just try Pillar of Nirn here for that. I don't know about trial level of dps, but it will definately elevate it significantly. HI Ruben! Just messing with numbers, I think it may be from not checking while tri-pots are rolling, so a loss of Major Fortitude. 2,800 x.3 = 840. 2,800 + 840 = 3640. (I had 3627 in the screen shot, so very close.) That's as close as I can get and I feel this is maybe your problem. Roll your potions and check again. Let me know if you don't mind, I'm curious if this was correct. Thanks!
Thank you! It totally can. There's a few options for you in the video. Thank you for the comment and apologies for the super delayed response. 🙏 I am just returning from being out from surgery.
Hi 03adrian! If you don't need the damage mitigation, many other damage sources will be better there. Maybe not Cruxweaver since it's main intent/strength is to provide Major Resolve, which we have from Oakensoul, but please do feel free to experiment with what works best for you. Truthfully, most people will not need Flare. But its there for those that do. If you were to drop it, I def recommend bringing in Inspired Scholarship. It doesn't interrupt the flail/beam flow, and makes it even simpler, ultimately increasing your damage.
This is interestingly similar to my arcanist IA build, only I'm using deadly and hexos for that. Time isn't nearly as critical as survival. Same is true for all solo content, honestly. If you don't die, the mobs don't reset, you can solo anything.
Whats the dps with no light attacks but still using inspired scholar and barbed trap? I have a hard time weaving in light attacks between my spammables.
I am not sure exactly what that would be without testing it all up and spending time in front of the dummy. I gave the no light attack expected dps with how it's set up in the video to give you a base line to work with. Hopefully that can help you some.
Hi there! I do plan to mess around with some WW set ups later this patch. I am play testing everything I am doing live on twitch currently. Once I have a bit built up, I will swing back to RUclips and get guides out. But you are more than welcome to come check out twitch to see some of the set ups early if that interests you at all.
Here is a copy/paste from our discord for this question: Here is general advice on passives I tell everyone who asks this question: Passives in ESO are very important for builds to function properly.
Im confused, how do you have the 5 piece bonus for both Briar and hexos yet your gear guide on your site only lists off 4/5 hexos. Am I missing something?
@@Dooma Oh nice, I didnt know that! Thanks for letting me know. Something I was curious (just hit 50 tonight and getting the gear) i was wondering if dual daggers might be better than lightning staff for this build, so I was wondering what the reason was for going with the staff instead of daggers for crit rate? Im guessing because of the ancient knowledge passive right?
Oh wow did this reply one slip through the cracks, so sorry haha. I think in this case "better" is relative. I used to play my personal arcanist as DW for solo content, but since swapped to Lightning as well. Arcanist does a fantastic job of mid range kiting and what not between flail immobilizes and beam shields. Lightning staff lets you capitalize off that a bit more allowing additional attacks and what not from mid range while still also landing your abilities. Plus the passives are perfect. DW is perfectly fine, esp if you are light weaving and making use of double enchants, and is the go to for a bit higher level parses. But generally speaking, a staff is just a smoother experience for solo content for anyone who may be struggling with something, even a little bit. Takes the 'edge' off if needed. Edit: Nope, nothing has changed. Just the usual dk with zens/alkosh type steroid role for the group. Rest of the DDs remain the same. I was really wondering what they could be expecting from you as most of the key pen buffs will be unique and have 1 instance of application. You may be in a learning group or there is a very niche specific role they are wanting you to feel potentially. I would ask them what specifically they are requesting you bring. If they say something like major or minor breach or any of the usual pen stuff, there may be a game knowledge issue there amongst the group. They may however be wanting you to run some super niche squirrely set up that accommodates their specific group, but I really don't think that's the case here. They would certainly tell you that I would imagine. I hope this helps and thanks again for watching!
Hello, I tried to recreate the build today. I have armor, weapon, CP, skills the same as in the viedeo, but only get about 20k DPS on a 6mil dummy(with The Languid Eye and light attaky and bear trap). In addition, when I try to kill a world boss (both attempted in the Deadlands) I die because I can't spam "Cephaliarch's Flail" fast enough to heal. Am I doing something wrong? Greetings, YyTFlo
Hi YyT! Could you tell me which world boss specifically? Edit: The reason I ask is because The Unmaker has a mechanic issue that can be tough to solo due to mechanics. Here is a reddit post about it: www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/xbfgr0/can_you_solo_deadlands_den_of_the_unmaker_world/ I logged in and tried out the dps on a 6m for you vs trial like in the video and it was holding mid - upper 20s, which is a pretty notable increase from 20k. Remember at the end of the video, I was just just trying to demonstrate "what was possible" for those who had the interest and ability to lean into the full set up of the build, and also use light weaving. It will take proper parsing habits to hit the ceilings damage. But the whole point of the video, is that is not needed at all, to do most things. But the availability is there within the build, for those who can push it just a little further. I hope this helps and thank you for watching!
Hi Dmytro! The most recent would be the Infinite Archive Necro. You can find it here under the "SOLO" menu at the top of the class page: www.thegameroom.tv/necromancer-builds
Thank you Mystra! The values are pretty solid. We get an extra 3964 from Arcanist passives that helps. A few options for you with values: (On a 3m Dummy) Medium Slimecraw: 15101 pen. Light Kraghs: 17527 pen.
@@Mystra The baseline pen with the build (with lover mundus and medium Slimecraw) is 9153. Major Breach from Elemental Susceptibility adds 5948 making it 15101. Likewise, the baseline pen with the build (with lover mundus/light Kraghs) is 11579. Major Breach from Elemental Susceptibility adds 5948 making it 17527.
@Dooma So do you think lover mundus or thief is better? I do feel like Arcanist doesn't rely on crit rate as much as something like Sorc! Anyways thank you
@@Mystra For solo content Lover, for group content Thief. Strictly speaking for damage dealing, all classes rely on crit rating to a fairly high degree. Most high dps set ups are focused on squeezing in as much crit as possible, within reason. For example, its why the vast majority of end game dps builds you see are 2x daggers for the weapons crit passive. Why slimecraw is almost always chosen as a 1 pc. monster set. Thief mundus. A crit set etc. The very high crit ratings is also why reaching the crit damage cap of 125% is so important on most setups as well, and vice versa. You are very welcome, happy to help! 🙏
Hi there! Since we are putting most of our attribute points into stamina for this build, any stamina based race is going to be ideal. For maximum damage, a Dark Elf is the best choice. You can make it work with any race, but you don't really need any survivability or sustain from racial passives with this set up, so leaning into more damage from the racial passives is probably going to be most ideal. Good news about choosing Dark Elf, is that if you ever wanted to play a Magicka based set up, it converts over from stam to mag very well with very minimal stat loss to the High Elf.
Hi there! That was just a small example comparing the health recovery to a resto staff ability. The actual gear section of the video (and written guide) shows lightning staff. Apologies for the confusion!
THANK YOU for watching! If you have any questions, please let me know!
➡Twitch: www.twitch.tv/the_gameroom
Im curious as to what changes in PTS makes this hit 70k on a dummy because I tried it on live and it was only 45-50k
Do you prefer to use this version more, or the one that uses briarheart and war-maiden?
Because it's one bar and easy setups. Meta chasers and endgame gatekeepers hate when people run these easier builds.
Thank you JDSD and you are very welcome. I am thrilled the builds have added value to your game time and thank you for the kind words. 🙏

You are VERY welcome Mood, and enjoy. Players like you are among exactly who I made this for. Please do enjoy it. 🙏
Thanks for all that you do, man! I’ll enjoy playing this once she’s developed. I have all the gear already, so that is something.

thank you so much for another amazing build. working perfectly for me so far. just wanted to show my appreciation on every platform. -from Aquaman
Aquaman, Thank you so much, wow. That is so kind of you. You are very welcome! 🙏
The IQ power needed to make some of the builds you come up with is insane... Ppl have over complicated so many builds that work less effectively than this one. It takes a true genius to streamline things like this and you sir do it effortlessly
Thank you Yoshi. I appreciate your kind words. Just trying to put some good out into the world. 🙏
I'm not exaggerating when I say in the decades' worth of ESO channels that I've come across, this has to be one of the most relevant and applicable channels out there.
Thank you for the kind words, Proto. I’m glad you are enjoying the content. 🙏
Too kind Bill, thank you, and you are very welcome. 🙏
Thanks to this build I could complete the Maelstron Arena for the first time. Also I have been doing regular dungeons only by myself, thank you so much, bro!
by the way, any potion that can increase damage? for the easiest dungeons
That's really awesome, I am glad to hear it, and thank you for letting me know!
I would drop Flare for Scholarship and use the Tide King's Gaze ultimate. Those 2 alone and you will see a big step up in damage. If you arent using Ring of PReservation ever, you can drop that for Fulminating Rune or Unstable Ele Wall as well.
Love it!
You don't gotta dish out 20-23k per tick.
You just gotta outlast everything they throw at you.

Thank you for the kind words 6! 🙏 Transmutes, the real end game, am I right? 😂
Already had all the stuff from my stam dk. Popped it on my arcanist and had SO MUCH FUN! Subscribed, for sure!

This is an amazing build. I hit the hardest I have in any class since I started playing a few months ago on pc.
Heyyyy Ink, I am glad, thanks so much for the feedback!
Thank you for an amazing build, Dooma)
You are very welcome! Thank you for the comment and apologies for the super delayed response. 🙏 I am just returning from being out from surgery.

@@Dooma Oh wow! thank you so much for writing me and for a detailed mini guide for me, I appreciate it so much, now I know which one to choose, I won't despair hahaha, as you say when I progress more in the game I will have the option to use the 2 builds and it will be great.

loves your builds.
Soo I'm kind of new to the game but isn't this just 4 pieces of hexo's ward? Or does the lightning staff count as 2 pieces??? 4:37min
Hi there and welcome to ESO! You are right, weapons count as 2 towards set bonuses.
Hello! So i just started following the build and i figured id ask;
Why a lightning staff over, say, double daggers? Daggers would give more crit as you can run 2x precision, and for enchantments you can run flame and poison or something
Also: what do you think of becoming a werewolf for extra weapon damage and movement speed?
Here is what I have been saying for this specific question:
Lightning Staff is most ideal for this set up due to passives and solo quality of life things.
Specifically this passive: eso-hub.com/en/skills/weapon/destruction-staff/ancient-knowledge
I hope that helps with your decision and thank you for watching!

My assumption is:
LA
Recouperative Treatise
LA
Barbed Trap
LA
Cephaliarch's Flail
LA
Cephaliarch's Flail
LA
Pragmatic Fatecarver
And then just reapply Treatise and Trap when they run out while just spamming 2x CF+PF with LA weaving?
Last thing: Would any other weapon be more damage if I don't mind its LA animation, or is Lightning Staff BiS?
Thanks alot in advance and for the guide!
Hi there! You are very welcome! Are you familiar with light weaving and parsing at all in ESO? If not, here is a short explanation:
www.thegameroom.tv/guides-animation-guides Note: This is a VERY old video from my early days in content creation, apologies for the cheese. Some of the addon stuff is outdated now (or totally irrelevant if you are on console) but the technique is still identical in todays game. I recommend giving that a watch and the short supplemental vid below it. That will make some sense with the light attack situation.
Regarding the skills.
"And then just reapply Treatise and Trap when they run out while just spamming 2x CF+PF with LA weaving?"
You nailed it 100%! 👏👏👏
I recommend keeping lightning staff for sure for this set up. This is due to the Destruction Staff Passive:
Ancient Knowledge - Inferno Staves increases your damage done with damage over time and Status Effects by 12%. Lightning Staves increases your damage done with direct damage and channeled effects by 12%. Equipping an Ice Staff reduces the cost of blocking by 36% and increases the amount of damage you block by 20%.
Taking out the lightning part:
"Lightning Staves increases your damage done with direct damage and channeled effects by 12%."
Flail is Direct Damage and Beam is channeled. So this passive will juice the majority of your damage, regardless of light attack ability. Plus it allows you to play slightly from ranged, kiting backwards in beams and using flails to immobilize chasing enemies.
I hope this helps make sense of it and thank you for watching!
hello, why you can heal your self without dmg on enemis? i only can heal with Cephaliarchs flail if i do dmg on enemies can you explain pls
@@lukrvs Hi there! That is something that was changed after making this video. I spent a day on stream running various content after this change and the build still performed totally fine. You just don’t have the no damage heal any longer.
@Dooma ahhh okay thank you :)
I would check out # 2b here for starters: www.thegameroom.tv/build-faq
Also, regarding health and resource recovery amounts, roll your tri-pot and then check again, you are likely missing the major buffs from it (fortitude/endurance/intellect) when checking (also make sure ult is charged to 500).
What do the numbers look like / is it possible to do without Oakensoul? I don't have murkmire :(
Would be great if I could save some money on the easier contents :)
Thank you in advance!
Dude, nice. Thank you.
This slowly looks more & more like my built..
Love it
Haha awesome I'm glad! 🙏
But I did steal your briarheart idea 😅 thx!
Hi, nice video. I wanted to ask you 2 things that don't add up to me:
1) why use staf?
(you need a higher crit chance to take advantage of crit damage.)
Great questions and thank you for watching!
I'm only 40 but I can already tell my reaction time is dropping and my ability to keep up with everything going on is dwindling, thank you very much for doing what you do even if the tryhards don't agree with it. I have always believed that mmorpgs should have the ability to be played by everyone and not gatekept.
You are very welcome, I am glad it added value to your game time.
Beautiful work dude, thank you for this

@@JMC5519 Heyyyyy that's awesome haha. GREAT work and thank you! 💪
I’m a veteran gamer and I can say this makes the game seem way more enjoyable and less stressful for harder content. Great video
Hi Brandon! Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I appreciate it and am glad the build is providing value for. 🙏
I'm curious, can this build be upgraded with the new scribing skills ?
Hi there! I am working on adding scribing skills to builds now. I am doing it on stream for everyone to see/have access to as well if that is something you are interested in.
Wouldn't that reaping champion bar passive be good here too? Heal for 7% of your damage you do? Or would these attacks not trigger that passive?
Getting back into eso and took a chance Getting this class. Still early but i just lazer everything to death. Its awesome lol
Welcome back to ESO, I hope you enjoy the Arcanist!
If you switch out serpent disdain with archive arcanist set. Wouldnt that be more effective?
Hi Christopher! Is it possible this comment was on the wrong video? This build is Briar/Hexos here.
A perfect excuse to play my Arcanist! She has a lot of skill lines that need development. I’ll be busy this weekend. 😉
Haha I'm glad! I hope you have a GREAT weekend with it! 🙏
Tried adding Glyph of Weapon Damage to jewelry even though it's only for weapons. But, it's the only one i could think of for "weapon glyph" for jewelry. Can anybody give a bit more clarity to which one it could be? Thanks!
Hi there! That glyph is "Increase Physical Harm."
@@Dooma Thank you so much!
Hi, I would like to ask, in the video you talk about Restoration staff and its bonus, but you use Lightning staff, a bit confusing, so what staff do you recommend to use?
And what passive bonuses do you have?
(I guess all class bonuses + all fighters guild bonuses and what else do you recommend for this build?(all lightning staff bonuses?/other guilds like undaunted or mage/psijic etc., anything from them?)
I'm totally new to eso and I'm looking for a build like this so I definitely want to try it, so thanks a lot.
Regarding passives, here is a copy/paste from our Discord to help with this question for newer players:
Passives in ESO are very important for builds to function properly. At minimum, as a baseline standard, you always want to have the following passives, for every build for every role in the game in combat related content:
1) All Class Passives.
2) All Weapon Passives of the weapon types you are using.
3) All Armor Passives of the armor type(s) you are wearing.
4) All Racial Passives.
5) All Guild Passives of the ability you are using that will increase output or sustain in anyway (EX: Fighter's Guild passive Slayer, Mages Guild Passive Magicka Controller, etc.)
6) Alchemy Passive Medicinal Use 3/3.
7) Both Undaunted Passives
---
Once you have excess skill points you can circle back and fill out the passives you missed like the misc. guild passives, world passives, crafting etc.
While this is probably not the answer you wanted to hear, there are 2 good takeaways:
1) Once it's done on a character, its done.
(I have experience that a lot of video/build creators often don't answer questions...) 🙂
Is there any way to get/get access to your discord?

Thanks for the answer, yes it's true that with so many videos with so many comments I can imagine that it's close to impossible to answer everything.
Can you do this same set up with the health recovery on other classes? or only works because of the arcanist ultimate?
You totally can! I've been play testing a 2 button Necro using the same thing.

Hi Curtis! Definitely! If you look at the CMX's in the end clips. The lesser bosses took about 2 minutes and the final took about 6. This is also with me simulating someone moving slower on they keyboard, not light weaving, not using trap, and just sticking to flail/beam, and on veteran.
Thank you Titan! 🙏
any reason to not run say dual wield hexos daggers since its mostly stamina based? mightve missed it in the vid but curious.
Hi there! Lightning Staff is most ideal for this set up due to passives and solo quality of life things.
Specifically this passive: eso-hub.com/en/skills/weapon/destruction-staff/ancient-knowledge
@@Dooma oml i cant believe i missed that passive detail, ty for the explanation and insight^^, im working with the build and find it awesome although lacking a good bit it the cp area for now. it works great regardless! keep it up friend love the vids
could you swap hexos with mechanical acuity or another damage set or would it cause you to lose too much defense? i’m trying to think of something that would be able to make it outperform as far as dps and maybe be able to bring into trials

Hey bro, thanks for the video, I have a question, I am using everything from the video, even same race but I can't get the same health recovery that you have 2:55, what have I been doing wrong, max I have is 2800.
It might be better to run Cruxweaver Armor against trash than running flair to get major protection?
How about the mundus stone? What is recommended for use?
2:11
Whats the dps with no light attacks but still using inspired scholar and barbed trap? I have a hard time weaving in light attacks between my spammables.
I am not sure exactly what that would be without testing it all up and spending time in front of the dummy. I gave the no light attack expected dps with how it's set up in the video to give you a base line to work with. Hopefully that can help you some.
Ok. Thx

Im confused, how do you have the 5 piece bonus for both Briar and hexos yet your gear guide on your site only lists off 4/5 hexos. Am I missing something?
Hi there! For set bonuses in ESO, your weapon counts as 2.
Hello,
I tried to recreate the build today.
Greetings,
YyTFlo
Hi YyT! Could you tell me which world boss specifically?
Edit: The reason I ask is because The Unmaker has a mechanic issue that can be tough to solo due to mechanics. Here is a reddit post about it:
www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/xbfgr0/can_you_solo_deadlands_den_of_the_unmaker_world/
I logged in and tried out the dps on a 6m for you vs trial like in the video and it was holding mid - upper 20s, which is a pretty notable increase from 20k.
Glad I found this content! Thanks !!!
Me too! 😀 and you are very welcome, thank you for watching!
Looks amazing! Do you have anything interesting for the necromancer (PvE)?
Hi Dmytro! The most recent would be the Infinite Archive Necro. You can find it here under the "SOLO" menu at the top of the class page:
www.thegameroom.tv/necromancer-builds
Hi! Amazing stuff. Just got one question, pen won't be an issue on this build?
Thank you Mystra! The values are pretty solid. We get an extra 3964 from Arcanist passives that helps. A few options for you with values:
(On a 3m Dummy)
Medium Slimecraw: 15101 pen.
Light Kraghs: 17527 pen.
@Dooma Unsure how you got to 15k and 17k exactly but that's solid :)
What s the best race for this build? Thx so much!
I am not the gameroom, but High Elf would be my shout.
I don’t understand why you go over the resto staff if we’re using a destruction staff am I missing something?
Hi there! That was just a small example comparing the health recovery to a resto staff ability. The actual gear section of the video (and written guide) shows lightning staff. Apologies for the confusion!
