I’m enjoying Dutch singers and bands being appreciated all over the world and have been puzzling what it is that makes the difference. It is true that this tiny little country has talent in many different expertises, technical, construction , arts etc etc. With music it might be that we don’t accept crap, it has to be genuine and real live even when tech fails. We (used to.. 😢) have so many festivals and venues with live music in all genres. (F.i.: In my village I’ve been frequenting and volunteering at a non profit venue JOIN since I was 13. Local bands used to have their stage playing for friends & family so they learn how to entice the crowd and gather fans who remain loyal) Most importantly: when it comes from the heart we will party even if it is a style we wouldn’t normally even listen to. Furthermore, as you can see in beste Zangers, we are not as competitive the focus is on giving, not on taking. Ps: we drink our water from the tap and I live below sealevel 😉
Ty for your reaction! They are e nice band and yes sort of a Coldplay sound. Other more uptempo hits in the netherlands by Kensington are: War, Streets, and Riddles, and they now have a hit with another slower song whitch I really like called Uncharted. Ps just leave the background music away, we like to hear what you are saying 🤗

Kensington has so many good songs!!! Their old songs and their new songs. On 2019 they released a new album 'time'. Songs like, 'bats', 'what lies ahead' and 'uncharted territory' are amazing!!
Old songs: 'do I ever' and 'riddle'
And "Island", "Perfect Family Day", "Chronos Pts I and II" or "Insane". What the heck, I like every single song from "Time". Just how I liked every single song from the previous album, "Control".

While in the usa a lot is shielded from you guys cause in a way europe except england. Is not pushed by radiostations on your side. So music ways we are much more developed as i may say so. Please check out Di-rect and Kensington together when they collaborated at an annual festival type thing. They play covers of Nirvana, rage against the machine and other bands together with a huge choir and orchestra, epic show! Again, love what you guys do, keep it coming!

Still exploring Dutch artists 😁 You are getting famous overhere in The Netherlands when you keep this up! I have not seen a reaction to our number one female rock singer, Anouk, yet. She was discovered by Golden Earring (another great Dutch band with songs like Radar Love and Twilight Zone) lead singer in 1997 and has been one if our most succesfull artists since. She sing mostly rock and ballads. One of her most popular ballads is Lost (ruclips.net/video/mM6i4DhMwx8/видео.html ).She is currently also a coach in the Voice of Holland (adult and kids version).
I'm so glad I discovered this channel. The reactions from the both of you while getting further into songs like these (especially with a certain lack of 'knowledge') is really exciting to see! How it started out with "We usually comment to more heavy bands", while having no clue at all you're talking about the second loudest band in the Netherlands, lol. It's one thing to see another person react to a certain type of music, but it's another to see someone reacting from another continent with no foreknowledge at all 😁

Guys, you should definitely listen to the last song of the last album time. This song is called No me, and is one of the absolute highlights of the album. The composition is beautiful, surprising, nice key changes, the lyrics are poetic and deep. After the second couplet?, the Bass sets in and the heartbeats of the song goes up...and if you listen to the drummer at the end of the song, how he drumms his sticks on 🔥 ....just wow

She even managed to play a small part in the Nashville series. She deserves to be a big country star because she is such a sweetheart. I sincerely hope she performs at the CMA awards one day.

Ilse also participated in the eurovision song contest with another dutch counrty artist (Waylon). They called themselves ‘the common linnets’ and they made the song ‘calm after the storm’. Most of the dutch people hated the song, but finally they reached the 2nd spot at the contest. It became a huge hit in Europe. Which was amazing, but they never wanted to be a band. Hi men, nice to see that you react so quick on propositions of your followers. In the Netherlands we have a concert that reminds a lot to "Beste Zangers". But it is much bigger. It is named "Vrienden van Amstel live". Here the artists come to have beautiful time together. About 80% of the performances are duets of singers or cooperation between bands. Kensington and Direct are friends. So when one of these bands heard that the other band was not invited they decided to do a duet together. The name of that performance is "Heldenblok". It is a tribute to their hero's of Music. So in this performance you will see Direct and Kensington as friends playing together. It is amazing. Completed with orchestra. I am your fan, for a long time. But I dó have a question.., that you both maybe could answer: why do native speakers NOT listen to the lyrics? And not-natives are touched/in tears by the words/meaning of the song..?

Wow, you discovered one of my favorite bands ever! Their live shows are incredible, so much fun! You can react to any of their Ziggo Dome shows, to get an idea how they are. This song is one of their mellow ones. But look at "Let Go" for example. Eloi's voice is really THAT good, there is almost no difference live versus studio; the drummer is also insanely good.
