Yeah, GameCube games including Legends of 🤼♂️ I and II, Smashing Drive, UFC Throwdown, NBA Courtside 2002, WWE Day of Reckoning I and II and WWE WrestleMania XIX.
I’ve never really completed it and it’s probably going to take a week for me to practice, record and edit and ultimately get copyrighted lol. It’s definitely a title I’d like to have on the channel though but won’t be for a while
a lot of nintendo stuff is notorious for copyright. Wind Waker, Master Quest, Twilight Princess all got copyrighted which I knew would happen. Mario Sunshine and Mario 64 also got copyrighted. There are specific sound effects that are copyrighted by Nintendo.
I still remember playing this at age ten when it first came out and being so blown away. Playing Mario on my new N64 for the first time ever felt magical, no other way to put it...it didn't feel like simply a more advanced piece of technology. It felt like discovering real, literal magic.
Still an absolute blast to play, even 25 years later. That's how you know you've made a great game. No wonder it's been ported goodness knows how many times.
After watching it for a bit, I did think to myself - Am I being a dick for being frustrated by the meh quality of the gameplay? Yeah, think we've been watching too much speedrunning.
I just 100% completed this game yesterday and man it was an experience! I had a lot of fun, even though I raged every time I played it. This has to be one of my favourite Mario games, even if I didn't grow up with this game.
To say this game was a huge part of my childhood is an understatement lol I literally was on this shit as a kid for hours at my grandmas house..played this on the N64 along with donkey kong 64, hot wheels racing, and who could forget goldeneye 007
Absolutely... 21 years and barely aged! Any other game from that time now does not hold up nearly as well as this game does... Played it for the very first time this year, and I was so surprised at how fluid the experience is!
I've gone from liking this game, to thinking it's aged a bit worse than people claim, to absolutely loving it. Sometimes I boot it up just to run around the castle courtyard. How they got Mario's first 3D outing so good on the first try is a testament to the work Nintendo put into this game.
One of the most legendary 3D games ever. Still own the cartridge to this day and beaten it 100%. This game was one of the first games I ever played and it brings huge nostalgia, like another legend, Zelda Ocarina of Time.
Thank you so much for this. I remember having to pester my mom to drag me down to the local McDonald's to play this on the PlayPlace game station they had because I was raised up as a Sony kid. So, again, thank you. Truly. You've given an old kid a few comfy nights indoors with a tub of popcorn and the bittersweet taste of Nintendo nostalgia.
@Joseph Waters Sounds like a plan! Now my youngest grandkids are 18 & 19 so they're showing me all kinds of stuff. I wish you happiness and health, my friend. Your kids will love you for it. He 👍❤
Hi LongplayArchive! First I like to say thanks for this amazing long play of Mario 64! By far one of the BEST games every created! I was beyond obsessed with this game back in the 90's and still love it 24 years later! A little piece of trivia involving wet dry world! At 3:18:42, when you launch Mario out of the cannon to go to the underwater town, take a look at the skybox! I didn't know this till recently but the background is an altered image of Casares, Spain! Again great long play! :)
The sound for the Boo's cackle was the sound effect used for Bowser's laugh sped up. When the sound is played at normal speed it's a group of people laughing. With sales of 11 million units it was the best selling Nintendo 64 game and the best selling 5th generation console game. When the game was still new and popular, rumors persisted that Luigi and Wario were in the game. These rumors have long been proven false, although those characters did appear in the later port, Super Mario 64 DS (2004). But in 2020, deep in the code someone found Luigi. He is not used or accessible in the game, but he exists in the code. The music used in Wet-Dry World and Hazy Maze Cave (as well as some indoor portions of other courses) is a reworked version of the World 1, stage 2 version of the original Super Mario Bros. Beautiful butterflies fly around Mario outside the castle if he walks or runs close to them. Big Boo's Haunt is the only level to not share a music theme with another stage.
This was the first 3d game I played , just experiencing this for the first time, transitioning from 2d games to this was one of the most amazing things I ever experienced

Nostalgia. The only biggest mistake that Nintendo did to this game: They were going to have Luigi return once again as player-2 but they couldn't develop cooperative-mode because of it's complicated camera angles so they threw the multiplayer option away along with Luigi. (Why not at least instead make a split-screen mode, or stick with the 80s tradition on developing SM64 into a multiplayer hotseat game?)
@@TBrizzle01 Actually, I also didn't think about Luigi when I first played SM64... until I realized it... and that's why Luigi appeared in the DS remake.

I remember playing this game a lot when I was about 5 or 6, and I'll be honest, I'm not a 90's kid, I grew up in the the early 2000's (though I'm not gonna state what exact year). I always sucked at this game but I had a blast playing it, the N64 we had unfortunately broke many years ago, it upset me a lot. The more Super Mario 64 related stuff I see, the slightly sadder I get, however, there is a videogame store about an hours drive from where I live. And last time I was there (which was about two years ago) there was one or more N64s apparently available for purchase. Hopefully someday I can get my hands on one, and hopefully it lasts a while. Thanks for the memories (I feel so off saying that...)
I love 💕 super Mario 64 greate memories I played it on my Wii as a kid now I'm 16 now after 5 years is been science Wii shop closed rest in peace 😞 but still I can play it On my switch very cool and worth's playing this game now
It's hard to believe that Mario 64 came out in North America just 11 years after the original Super Mario Bros.. Felt like the difference between the Bronze Age to the dotcom era. The graphical jump was so drastic vs. the difference between 2009-2020...

is it odd that I watch this while doing homework? idk things about my childhood just brings me peace.
You just can't get enough of this game, don't you agree?
It's just so fun to play and brimming with charm! Some of the first mainstream 3D games were more curiosities or just flat out janky, but this game managed to not only look and play well, but feel fresh and fun every time you play.
@@tatertot64 Indeed it looks fresh! It has aged well compared to other games from the same era.
This is my favorite nintendo 64 game. Super mario 64 used to come out when I was 7. Child hood memories. 😊
LongplayArchive, great content you deserve more views
Back in the early 2000s when I play this game when I was a kid this game automatically got all the stages and the stars by itself I had no idea how that happened
Your memory card or the cartridge had the game data stored from the previous owner

As a kid I never really knew how to play this game, all I did was swim the river surrounding the Castle and called it a good day.
I can see that last part ending differently in my dirty little mind. lol.
Is no one gonna comment about how he casually ran up that slope in Bob-Omb Battlefield to get the red coin?
TURN THAT CONSOLE OFF NOW ITS THAT SECRET BOO LAUGH 1:24:48
yoo it is ! that game is haunted, possibily personalised.
Wario
Yep, It's confirmed. He's not gonna be uploading anymore.
JaKastrophi wario: wario show u fun
@@T_S_M_G The Boo's Secret Laugh is actually the voice of Charles Martinet from a stock sound effect that he recorded before he'd even auditioned to become Mario!
Remember coming home from 4th grade and directly playing this after I did homework
Big Boo's Haunt has a mean piano. Mean books, too.

Dear Mario
"Please come to the castle, I've baked a cake for you"
Yours truly Peach
Don't you realize that in real life everything Mario did is extremely dangerous
Jolly Roger Bay was my favorite course, damn I wish I could get this game again. So many hours into my 64
fact: i developed a phobia of thwomps and chain chomps by the noises they make from playing super mario 64 DS for the first time and for a long time i refused to go near them but at some point i lost my fear of them ;)
Thank you so much for posting this lpa you see I never played this game 🎮🎯 back 🔙 when the n64 was 1 of the notable consoles along with the PS1 and dreamcast and because of that I've been playing it blind on my switch and a # of stars have been giving me grief because of that
I'm Glad I Got My Own Nintendo 64 Console and My Own Nintendo 64 Games Like Super Mario 64, and Pokemon Stadium.
I'm not the kind of guy who ranks my games, but when I heard the SM64 ending theme.....I knew this game was my favorite. And I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels that way
I just finished this game today (not the 3D All-Stars version, just on the N64 system) and ever since I played the DS version and finding out it was a remake to the original as a kid, I always want to try it until now as a grown up, it's hard but short and it's gonna be my favorite Mario game 😌😊
My childhood😍😍😍

I love this channel.
An absolute classic N64 masterpiece
I remember that game!😊😊😊
Feels like only yesterday i collected my first star. I didn't finish until i got all 120. It was an amazing launch title.

1:10:50 Why is there a unnerving bottomless void underneath the moat?
i'm not a mario fan but this was definitely a impressive game for it's time. especially being s system launch title...
Well, I'm not a Naruto fan, so I guess I can't bash you for not being a mario fan.
The franchise is why we know what a video game still is today. Better than Xbox and PlayStation in every way.
Are you saying that launch titles are never good?
Such Greatness
Ah classic! I played this when I had Nintendo N64!
No
I love 💕 super Mario 64 greate memories I played it on my Wii as a kid now I'm 16 now after 5 years is been science Wii shop closed rest in peace 😞 but still I can play it On my switch very cool and worth's playing this game now
Jolly Roger Bay was always my favorite level
Greatest game in history
I accidentally read some information about bob the robber unblocked on twitter by hudgames. And I tried this game, it's great.
I thought Koopa the Quick would accuse you of cheating if you used the teleport and refuse to give you the star.
1:24:48 Big Boo’s Secret Laugh
TIL you can get the owl cage star with the cannon. It's not faster per se but if you know the angle it's probably more reliable than the owl.
It's hard to believe that Mario 64 came out in North America just 11 years after the original Super Mario Bros.. Felt like the difference between the Bronze Age to the dotcom era. The graphical jump was so drastic vs. the difference between 2009-2020...
I remember playing that game! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
