- If you want to get referrals in your restoration business from insurance agents, you need to UNDERSTAND AGENTS. Not all agents are created equal. Some insurance agents will make great referral partners while others may seem to be a waste of time.
In this video we break down the two types of agents, independent and captive agents.
If you want to get jobs from them, you need to understand the differences between the two.

Shane told me on the phone the other day “ you can’t have a successful company unless your getting jobs from plumbers” will my dads been in the restoration field for over 30 years!! And let me tell you he was able to support his family raise 4 kids and put food on the table still to this day with very minimal work from plumbers… Shane is more of a RUclipsr then a actual CEO he dosent wanna tell you what you really need to hear
Correct I tell you what you NEED to hear
Not what you WANT to hear
I’d like to talk with your dad!!
State farm and companies like those ,the agents gets a percentage of the company growth that motivate each other to work together kind of set up like mlm that what makes the agents tight
Good to know! Thanks for sharing
Great video brother keep it going
Thanks! Will do!
Can you make a video about sales department and getting jobs from homeowners and about speaking with property managers?
Will do!
Oddly enough, I have been paid well on Loyds in Florida.
Lucky!
I have tried the captive route but have always been turned away. I’m told that I need to be part of the preferred vendor list before they can even talk to me. How do you get around this?
I used to hear the same thing for years myself. It isn't true though. If they had someone they liked and trusted, they would refer jobs to them. You will need to focus on more of a servantmarketing approach. Do you own a restoration company or are you a marketing rep for a restoration company?
@@TheRestorationContractor I am saving up to open my own restoration company. Currently I work as a senior project Director for a company in Southern California. But part of my duties is to attract more referrals. I have tried writing comp bids directly for adjusters, but I’m not sure how I can translate that for agents.
What can we offer insurance people to entice them to give us business?
We got them 5 star google reviews!
Let’s get some war story videos!
Deal!
Is it smart to get approval on a bio?
Maybe... depends on the job really. We normally just did the cleanup and billed it after the fact
The problem with bio is keeping the trained staff. You really cannot just wing it. Throwing some water techs on a "seasoned" death is a recipe for disaster.
bio is different beast for sure
A little comment.
They all help!
