Is this the first video youve made that lines up with a show/movie coming out? I was starting to wonder if you knew the MCU even existed lol i respect that about you. But its still ok to line up with a show or movie to make more views or money. I wouldn't blame you.

After watching a ton of your character bios, I think this is a rare occurrence where a character’s history doesn’t become a huge, convoluted mess. Great channel btw!
Also ton of respect to this guy for not just dropping videos of characters depending on what movie is coming out. Its like he doesn't even know the MCU exists. Groot is the perfect example of an obscure character given new life when brought back into the public eye years later. There are sooooooooo many obscure Marvel characters just waiting for their time to shine. That's why I love when you showcase characters like this. How about a video showcasing Red Norvell, the red headed Thor stand in. He is just waiting to be brought back and become a superstar.

As much as I like the MCU Groot, the original Groot is easily my favorite. Specifically the Silver Age depiction. Though that Hulk issue (an annual?) was actually my first reading of him and every other monster/menace in there. I had seen many companies sci fi monster/menace anthologies by then but it was what got me searching old boxes at flea markets and yard sales specifically for Marvel's/Timely's. And once I started to find them it gave me a whole new appreciation and view of Marvel's superheroes' first appearances. I realized that they were just natural extensions of monster books that just happened to catch on and keep coming back.
One of those little corners of the Marvel Universe I love to check in on every once in a while. The monsters that go bump in the night~
Found your channel a few days ago and have really been enjoying these videos. Funny story regarding those passages you quote at the end regarding KIng Groot's survival: I wrote both of them. The original phrasing was used since we still saw Groot's body at the end of the original story. We had no proof the termites fully consumed him, and we opted to go that route since he was obviously sprouting up again here and there since. Once we got to the writing of the Handbook entry, he (or they, rather) had a more established method of surviving death in the books, and it was decided to bring it more in line with the "splinter" method. I do like your theory on a third Groot; if they insist on their being more than one (I have never been fond of them retconning the Groot who found redemption with the Commandos and the one who became a Guardian not being one and the same), it's a very nice way to take care of all those Monster Island cameos and the like.
I would like a cartoon show series to be made about (GROOT & ROCKET).
Your research is amazing! Love your videos, they flesh out the world of Marvel I've loved for so long in such a great way!
I love how the marvel universe started as a monsterverse than became a hero verse.
WHAT I IMAGINE ABOUT A (GROOT & ROCKET) CARTOON SHOW SERIES:
I imagine that during the two friends’s adventures, Rocket later decides to help Groot, and try to trace the rumors of survivors of Groot’s race.
In addition the one of the rumors involves, a hidden planet that is strongly protected, and on it the survivors of Groot’s race live on it.
To add an ancestor of Groot’s has the ability to understand almost any language, and with speaking in clear sounding words.
Plus to add Groot’s ancestor has the magic power to create new forms of their alien species, and make it possible for females to be formed.
Now I imagine that a brother of Groot’s ancestor is evil, and he had the same name as Groot, but he had a title to him that was (King Groot) & he was overthrown.
In addition the evil (KING GROOT) was then exiled from their race, sent to a ruined planet, and he lives on a large island that is on the planet.
I also imagine that it took decades for the evil (KING GROOT) to finally realize he was an awful ruler, he was disrespectful towards others, he was selfish, he was very prideful, was very greedy, and he deserved his exile.
I imagine eventually the former (KING GROOT) became very sad, felt genuine guilt for all the bad he had done, he wanted to see his brother again, and he wanted to be with the rest of his race again.
Now I imagine that good Groot’s ancestor is still alive, it the amount of magic he has that’s keeping him alive, and his ancestor has been waiting a very long time for a worthy one of his race to earn the right for the magic power he has
I also imagine Groot’s ancestor has a vision, that showed that Groot might be worthy of the powerful magic he has, and so he sends a message to GROOT on how to find him, and to add how to avoid the many dangers to get to where he is at.
Now I imagine that (Rocket Raccoon) he helps GROOT, the best he can, I imagine while on their journey they have fun, make new friends, and see a few of the new members of the (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAX).

“In addition I imagine that (Gamora) quit being a member of the (GUARDIAN OF THE GALAXY) & decided to just be a mother raising her kids, and I imagine Gamora’s sister (Nebula) she became a member of the team.”
“To add I imagine that (Adam Warlock) is a member of the (Guardians of the Galaxy) & I imagine that DRAX he discovers a new love, he married her, and their first offspring was born.
“I imagine (DRAX: The Destroyer) he won’t quit, being a member of the team for a while, but when the time comes he knows a few people who would be good to take his place.”
“Plus to add I imagine that (Mantis) she stays on the team for a while, I imagine eventually she discovers a species that is very similar to her own, I imagine that she falls in love with one of the males, and I imagine she wonders if he feels the same for her.”
Now while all these events are going on, I imagine that Rocket & Groot, run into danger, when exploring an abandoned outpost, that’s on a unknown world to them, and I imagine they come across some creatures that looks afraid, but they don’t know what their afraid of.

An interesting, off the wall character to consider is Lunatic/Arisin Turk from the Defenders and Manwolf's run in Creatures on the loose. As Lunatic his speech pattern was a zany pastiche of catcalls and commercial jingles. As Turk he was the godking of his world. A homicidal maniac either way. One of writer David Anthony Kraft's most memorable creations.

The Vampire by Night is a woman named Nina Price who first appeared in 2005. I don't believe the Werewolf by Night was ever on SHIELD's Howling Commandos unit but they did have another lycanthrope called Warwolf.
