I'm surprised a folder color option isn't already integrated into Windows 10 . . . right click on the folder, click on properties, then select the color option --- they've got everything else in there, why not color?
From what I understand, you don't need folder painter running to keep the colors/custom icons, correct? Because it just changes the .ico for that folder. You can already do this with folders and files in the customize tab, but this provides an easier interface it appears.
Correct, you don't need to keep the program running. I just installed, extracted the icons and put them in a safe location, then manually set the folders.
If you have your folders colorized, does this have a negative effect on your RAM or CPU? I mean since i have an old pc will the speed be reduced or would it be the same? Thank you for sharing this feature with us!!
I love the idea the issue is if you use a share folder drive like Dropbox the change of folder in your PC is not reflected in the other computers as it saves the folder settings into a local drive

Have followed the steps you out lined in the video. Has not worked, when I install and go to a folder and open up colorize the colours are in black & white. Any suggestions please.
Noticed that browsing the web after I installed this, pictures were not refreshing correctly.. e.g looking at Auto Trader, the next picture would not refresh.. Removed the software and everything works perfectly again.. Loved the idea of it though.., should be part of Windows, but I ran in to problems with it..

Cool Idea...... However, this should be titled "How to Colourise Folders on Windows 10", because you cant do this "in" Windows 10 natively. I did test this one out on an laptop running win 10, and windows detected it or another programme as Malware. I wont be running this on my main pc.

It's just a bunch of .ICO files; copy them from the software and reuse them elsewhere
