How was the truck now starting? Did it sound like it was turning over or did it just make a click? If it just made a click it may just be the starter solenoid, which you can check by jumping the solenoid. Be careful with doing it though, I did it with my truck and it scared the absolute shit out of me the first time
The_Fonz_HD in this video I did it the same way I did in the first I think I burnt up the starter as it didn’t do anything after I replaced the solenoid it’s been sitting over 2 years now
I have a 1997 F250 7.5 litre, I gotta say it's really cool seeing you guys restore that old warrior to operating and road worthy condition!

We got one that fires right up but it's a crew cab and it's red but missing a front end and its a 1992 7.3 liter love my truck
Nice old truck, I would love to have it. That hole in the bed is likely an old ball mount that someone had for towing, thats what these trucks were made for. A trick for cleaning that engine is to go to the dollar store and buy 6-8 cans of oven cleaner. Make sure the engine is cold when you spray it on, let it set 10 minutes+- and then use a garden hose to wash off, cleans up pretty nice. If you use the oven cleaner with a hot engine it will take the paint off as well. Great job, a good way to learn about automobiles.
Gary Sisk yes the hole was was for a fifth wheel which we still have but I didn’t know at the time right now the starter is shot needs rebuilt and fuel lines need some sorting and an oil change sounds easy but this is a idi disesl which requires a good fuel system no air intrusion which is its problem so it’s gonna need some hard work

You probably need the glow plug controller, it's behind the air cleaner, some fresh diesel, I have a 91 7.3 IDI, that sat for a few years,
Greg Barth yes I replaced glow plugs I started ok once it was started up for the day. It’s sitting now starter needs to be dropped and inspected to see if I burnt it up

The truck isn't half bad looking, now if you could only fix the rear wheel well. Myself, I'd take some spray rubber bed liner to the back bed and maybe get some of that rustoleum rust converter in a spray can for the floor underneath the truck.

RETR0_ GOAT hope too when ever the weather is just right I’ve got to drop that heavy starter and the past few months between school and horrible weather haven’t been right look forward to doing more on it this summer I love that tuck so much along with my two cars
And the hole was for a goose neck ball it really wasnt an option but was installed after purchase

I'm no ford guy but I think the hole in you're bed was for a gooseneck hitch. As far as I know the gooseneck hitch was a add on you could get from the dealer or you can install it you're self. I seen a 2000 dodge ram 3500 4x4 with a v10 that was a dually but it did not have a gooseneck hitch in it

Yes it’s my grampas I must have Burnt up the starter or something it hasn’t run since after this video I think I know it’s been over a year it was leaking badly around the fuel filter and air intrusion was coming in between the switch that joins the 2 tanks I have yet to drop the starter out and see what it is the I need to sort the fuel issues
