    49:45 reformation in Hindu community was possible not just by Lathi alone. It was possible because the back then the leaders as well as all celebrities (art and business ) were vocal about it. Tell me which leader and liberals celebrities including all movie personalities and business tycoon even mention this SC ruling - let alone call it historic verdict. Growing up I have seen so many movies calling all wrong things in Hindu community - caste / Dowry killings / female infanticide etc . I have not seen a single movie criticizing teen talaq - except Amitabh and Nargis movie

      Hindu women in Nepal are more modern than Hindu women in India. This lathi argument is such a bogas argument. Nepal never had such laws but still they progressed more than Indian women.

      Reformation in Islam is not possible, because of apostacy and Blasphemy enshrined in the book itself, and the book itself can NEVER be changed.

      @@npatel7775It's the same argument that colonizers used to give to justify colonialism. Yet many countries progressed better than former colonies without being colonized.

    I wish this was fully in English so I can send this to some westerners who think Hindus spend their whole lives just oppressing Muslims

    Lots of sympathy for the Muslim women. It is tragic but also it is their own community and elite Muslims who are biggest issues. I’m a Hindu feminist (not a man hater) and I’m just so disgusted by people like rana ayubb. I appreciate arshia ji for showing us the plight of Indian Muslim women

      Man you would be amazed at the number of how many Muslim women from middle class and lower middle class backgrounds also supports the views of Rana Ayyub.

    If dowry is wrong so is alimony because it's just extortion, be an adult and find a job, you're not owed a lifestyle after divorce. There's no calculation on how much is fair and men become financially unstable.

    • @AquarianMan
      @AquarianMan Месяц назад +4

      This isn't a proper comparison

    • @Jojo_D_Northstar
      @Jojo_D_Northstar Месяц назад

      @@AquarianMan it is. Like I mentioned there’s never a fair calculation nor a fair duration. Men are paying for their whole lives to an adult female. I can understand a few months to get her off her feet but after that the woman should get a job she’s an abled person.

    • @kaartya76
      @kaartya76 Месяц назад

      True but only when there is parity between Muslim man and woman in India. Muslim women are in shackles when it comes to education, acquiring a job. They are treated as the man’s “Kheti” meaning farm. For breeding. When anyone is so regressive and bigoted the question doesn’t arise to go out and work. She will get beaten up by her husband, brother, and her father too. It is very different in Hindus and in US. Women are encouraged to education, build career etc.

    • @Whatsinaname423
      @Whatsinaname423 Месяц назад

      As our society is largely patriarchal, the women in general put their career in the back burner or take up a lower paying job to take care of the house. It is in lieu of this that I feel it is morally right to pay alimony.
      17:00 even husbands have recieved alimony.

    • @Vivek10010
      @Vivek10010 Месяц назад +1

      @@Whatsinaname423 So the alimony should stop when the woman gets a job, or is re-married (or even live-in), or any situation where she can financially sustain herself?

    Reform in Hindu community though lathi is such a bogas analogy. Hindu women in Nepal are more modern than hindu women in India. In Nepal, there was no such reformist law but still hindu women have better life than indian hindu women.

      @npatel7775 Месяц назад

      @Hindustan_life I have lived in Nepal as well as in India. And Modern don't mean non religious. Modern in the sense they know their rights and are not intimidated men. While in India majority women don't know their rights and are easy intimidated.

  • @DiatomAlgae
    @DiatomAlgae Месяц назад

    The simple issue is that Religion can't be forced on anyone.
    Forcing people to follow a particular 'Religious' law would be contrary to Article 25 of the Constitution.
    The concept that a person's religion is decided by birth is wrong and contrary to Art 25.
    ONLY laws made by a democratically elected body can be Enforced,
    Religious practices can ONLY be followed voluntarily, they can't be enforced.
    Religion is a Right, NOT a Duty.
    That is why ALL disputes have to be settled under Civil Law and NOT under Religious Law.
