I thinking the getting up is not to bad for ridiculously high stilts you could prop yourself near a 20 or more foot vertical rope and just climb the rope. Its the falling that is the issue in injury... anyhow was curious on what ranges are practical for performances / performers to uses... is it like mostly done with 3 ft stilts?
yup that did it for the falling and getting up but now i am wondering what limit of height stilts is to high like when falling hurts to much and getting up is not possible even with a partner or with sticks/rope... Is it 5ft stilts , 10ft stilts for the get up is to hard. Definitely i would imagine anything higher then 3 maybe pushing 4 feet would be when the fall becomes to much impact
I think it depends on training and how fragile a person might be. Certainly just falling while walking can hurt some people. I feel pretty comfortable falling at 3' if I have to. I know that the West African tradition of Moko Jumbies they are on 5' and taller. I've seen a video where one guy fell and it didn't look good, that being said all of the Moko Jumbies I have seen are in top physical shape.
Ohohohoh the first thing I thought when I thought of wearing stilts was “hooo boy I am definitely using my skating knee pads!!!
My choice as well
So, never stilt alone. Got it. lol I’m definitely training with a friend before I take stilts to a convention!
I just love that shirt.

Most people I deal with are doing 3' or slightly taller for parades and 2' for Acro stilting.
Great video Dave!
