    10000% agree with you. I got my 900 2 days ago and so far it’s fantastic! I didn’t want to spend so much on a manticore so I feel I’ve made the correct choice. The Manticore seams to be running away with all the hype at the moment, mainly because of the 2d mapping, power & interface which is stunning and cutting edge but come on…there are other new models out there from Minelab too…please more 700 & 900 vids/info/tests ect. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work! We all appreciate it.

    100% agree!!! I've worked my way through a CTX,2-800 (water issue) and 2 -600s (water issue) and currently own the 900!! Could have bought the Manticor but being primarily a water hunter dont need the screen!! The 900 is proving to be the way to go IF IT DOESNT FLOOD!!!!!!! Love it so far and seems to be everything you are stating! Great video and superb run down! Thanks!! 👍👍👍

    Great honest review. I have the 800 and have watched other reviews on the 900. Yours made sense to me. I look forward to your other videos on the 900 to make my final choice. Thank You for putting this out there,,,,

    I moved up from an Equinox 600 to a 700. The new VDI scale -20 to 99 is a world of difference to me. I started out with a Fisher so the 0-40 scale of an Equinox I never got use to. The 700 is more stable and recovery is much better than my 600.

    What is a realistic minimum sensitivity you'd run on the 900? I was on a dig the other day with lots of chopped tiny bits of iron and the ground was generally very noisy. I was trying to persevere with it set around 23/24 but still noisy. Should I put up with the noise or lower it to 20 or less? How much depth would that lose? Any thoughts? :-)

    You can plug in the old 800 phones into the 900. Also some aftermarket phones are the same. Like the August 650B .
    I never used the WM08 and thought it was a waste of time.
    I think the 900 is better and the 800 should have been like that at the start.
    Its better using All Tones than the 800 using Full Tones. The 800 was best using 5 tones i feel.
    You can use the numbers on the 900 when the 800 were no where near as good for telling what you had.
    Stem is much better on the 900 and means you dont have to buy a Telenox or etc.
    Waterproof to 16 feet instead of a risky 10 on the 800.
    Better lugs on the 900.
    Better arm cup on the 900.
    I wont judge the price as perfect. The 900 has an extra coil but i dont use it. Yet.
    But the 900 is a better machine and if you cannot afford the Manticore the 900 is the way to go.
    I will see if the 900 can withstand real EMI when i go to a certain landspot on the south coast . If its good there then it passes. That is hellish on all my machines.

    Surely the 700 which searches across the same multi frequencies as 900 is the best buy?
    Same performance but a few less add ons ?
    700 surely better performance than the 800?

    • @HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting
      @HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting  Год назад

      The 700 operates from
      4 to 15 kHz, the 800 and 900 operate from 4 to 40 kHz.

    • @marklovell2933
      @marklovell2933 Год назад

      Correct me if wrong but the 700 operates on the same multi frequencies as the 900 therefore 4-40 khz. It only operates when run in single frequencies from 4 to 15 khz.

    • @HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting
      @HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting  Год назад +2

      @@marklovell2933 no you’re correct, the Multi IQ operates on the same width but single frequency selection is limited on the 700.
      The difference between the two is that the 900 offers more user settings and selections allowing you to in essence fine tune the 900 a little more.
      I can’t speak for the 700 but for a long time my detecting partner used a 600 while used the 800 and in terms of finds there was nothing between them. The 800 and 900 extra settings are aimed more toward the gold hunters.

    If the manticore gave me a down-loadable gps map of signals...id be all in...but as I see it, it has tighter signal numbers...but hey, I can average 38-41...versus seeing 39-40 in my face...2d mapping as a cross section as presented means little to me

  • @michaelarmstrong5754
    @michaelarmstrong5754 Год назад

    Regarding the manticore......have you done an airtest on a cut quarter and does it beat the 800, and what sort of height on an airtest would I expect on say an edward penny as the 800 is quite impressive

    • @HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting
      @HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting  Год назад +3

      Haven’t done air tests because they are very unreliable and don’t match any real-time digging. However I did a test bed that had a cut half, and several other hammereds at varying depths. The Manticore hit on them all as did the 800 and 900, I had a silver George IV shilling at just over 10” non of the machines apart from the manticore picked it up.
      The one thing that stands out with the Manticore is that it hits hard on ridiculously small objects, so small that often the pin pointer struggles to find them. As yet I haven’t dug anything too deep with the Manticore but that may be because I haven’t found anything that deep yet.
