Ozaki Wagyu beef dish at 2 Michelin star Werneckhof By Geisel, Munich

  • Anyone walking between the bourgeois facades of the Werneckstrasse in Munich's Schwabing district would expect a well-kept Bavarian restaurant behind the name Werneckhof by Geisel. But once inside you will discover a truly unique experience, combining a European and Asian cuisine.
Master of this culinary conviction is Tohru Nakamura, a Munich native with Japanese roots. Together with his team he serves a modern cuisine with influences from national and Asian culinary culture. Tohru is a purist, high-quality products are the most important and the chef puts special touches with lots of different aromas. But the essence always stays the nature of the main ingredient.

There's absolutely no shame in going to a restaurant like this and then getting a pizza afterwards. No shame. You go to a place like this to taste refinement, not to get full. It's filling a different appetite. It's like going to an opera or orchestra or museum. It's not serving the same need at seeing Avengers.
But that said, you'd be surprised how full you can get on a multiple course meal.

Kram Sivad usually these types of restaurants sell a six or eight or 12 course menu, with no options. This would be one of those courses. But, you could also go to an American style steakhouse like Ruth Chris or Peter Luger and spend the same $150 for a 18 ounce ribeye with crabmeat topping and lobster mac & cheese. Both are enjoyable experiences. You don't go to Michelin star rated restaurants, concerned about the price.

You just might need a doggy bag. I’ve had 7+ course menus (of which this dish is a part of since you have not heard of a tasting menu before) where I was too full to move on to dessert. Also, the price needs to be put into the proper context. Yes, 200-300 dollars per person for dinner is a lot of money, but for this you do in fact get a lot of food, much more food than you will ever receive at your local restaurant, and each course has plenty of luxurious ingredients whose individual price points far outstrip the price of the menu. In fact, when you actually think about it, there is value for money to be found here in the special occasion sort of way.

Such a dumbass "conversation." Sit down to a tasting menu where 5-13 if these dishes are served. You'll be plenty full. This isn't some drive-thru one-course meal.

I like how he picks up the ingredients with his fingers, grabs them with the surgical tongs and places them on the meal like some food artist. What a load of bullshit, who the hell would that feed, a hummingbird?
