As many of you know this is a reattempt at the original walkthrough I played back in 2018. Due to the small size of the text and scale it was very hard for mobile users/small screens to tell what was going on. In this version I played at a more appropriate scale so you can actually tell what’s going on. RUclips only allows 12 hour videos (this was well over 14) so I had to edit this down significantly in order to keep it within those parameters. Luckily, I only had to speed up the map travel, cut out the grinding/non-important fights, and speed up bartering/inventory management. If you want the uncut version you’ll just have to watch the individual episodes off the playlist. All dialogue and quests were kept in so luckily I didn’t have to sacrifice anything story related. Time stamps are in the description (special map encounters included) along with links to the playlists and former longplay too. Enjoy!
Hello. I just want to say, thanks for doing this. The last walkthrough was a big effort, and many probably weren't waiting for this, which is always welcome. Maybe many other will play the classic games with videos like this (Which could become a refuge from the actual situation in gaming to some people and with the risk of looking near to utopic, it could make people remember what is a good videogame, and make a change), and others will try the max difficulty, which is truly a challenge. Again, thanks for this effort.

There's a reason I go to Star Marshal. It's nice to be able to just enjoy the game without having to hear some dude breathing into the mic or saying stuff that has no relation to the content.
It's tricky to justify since you need a good throw to ensure it doesn't go off the mark and it's rare you're in the dark. That being said, dropping them on the floor and leaving one active in the inventory mitigates that issue. Very useful for dealing with the deathclaw near the Hub.
@@krashface4870 Lol I started with 3 man. See this is why they need to remake or port 1 and 2 to the consoles without roms or a game expansion. I had no clue Ron was apart of the franchise this long.
Troika team were geniuses. I love Fallout and Arcanum. They were young back then and full of great ideas. I dont think it would be possible to create such games today. The ascetics of making video games changed.
Having never played anything other than fallout 4 I would just like to say that after watching this video the music and this game is absolutely fucking phenomenal.
This is outstanding. Learned new things even after all this time and multiple playthroughs. What's the idea behind taking off your armor between fights?
Always glad to hear even veteran players can learn a thing or two from me still. No in game reason for swapping from vault suit to armors. I just was doing it for extra immersion.
I think Ian is the mysterious old man that the FO2 protagonist meet in Vault city's bar since he tell the protagonist that they look like "someone he know" if you talk with him
Used to spend hours pick pocketing everyone, and then had to reload when I would get caught. If you don't get the waterchip in time your vault dies, and then the mutants can find the vault before you beat them too. Was a great game with multiple endings. Loved it
I always thought of this game as a linear, relaxing one. Where if I'm done building in 4, or RP-ing in New Vegas or 3, I just fire this up, farm some Super Mutant encounters for XP, or clear out The Glow or the Hub again, as is routine. Well put together vdeo.
You play so dangerously but effective. Though your looting skills need some work. A follower has infinite carry space if you trade everything to them. Theyll trade those items back to you for a fraction of its usual worth. And then u can just freely pickpocket everything back
Yeah, there's definitely things I can still improve on. With loot I feel it doesn't matter as much in the first game when you break the economy with gambling or high barter. Early on it's great to make fast caps, buy not so much once the Sniper rifle is acquired.
And I was going slow intentionally to show off information. Nothing worse than watching the first part of someone else's series and it takes 20+ minutes to get started.
Thank you kindly. High Int certainly seems to help. Could’ve been my decent Luck too? I really need to play vanilla Fallout without the fixit restoration mod to see the real differences. Even with those high stats it’s very easy to loose to ZAX.
@@StarMarshal Very interesting. I've played multiple times with high int (maxed actually) and high luck and perception but have never been able to do it. Might be some super unlucky rng.

Who knew the overseer was the true villain in the end. The main character risked his life several times just to save his home, and what does he get in return? He gets pushed out by the overseer, realizing people would want to leave the vault.

Glad to hear it. Yes, Tactics is my next target for the Fallout series. 2 will follow shortly afterwards.
Ok thanks for the answer a will watch every single episode
Instead of fallout 5 I’d be down for a modern remake of this one
Just wanted to say that this video made me want to play the game. Thanks
That's really awesome to hear! First time playing?
Yes, i am not big on computer games but this does make me want to try.
@@lordofopossums3036 it's definitely a fun way to kill time. Hope ya enjoy it.
The best fallout game by far they should make a remastered version for us play today.
awesome video, love the bigness
I like how you can beat the final boss with nothing but your words and wits.
I'm a fallout fan fallout 3 was the first one I played thx for showing us fallout 1 game play
Fallout 3 was my introduction to the series as well. Sure thing, thanks for taking the time to watch =]
I remember playing this as a kid.. no clue what I was doing. All I knew was I wish finnese actually made my guy shoot and move in a cool way. Now I'm Lv 99 in fo76, and it's pretty much everything I wanted as a kid.
You’re a goat for posting and doing this. Me and my daughter are about to enjoy the whole thing over my weekend :) came here to see some good stories and good lore. Unlike the tv show 👊
That's really awesome to hear! I apologize in advance for Lord knows how many ads YT is going to make you sit through. I keep the ads off if I can help it, but I never remove any music from the game so copyright forces it. Hope you both enjoy it despite the interruptions! I've got Fallout 2 and Tactics as well if you need more classic Fallout.
Man stfu the show is good
Guarantee you haven't even watched it
U gonna salute dis man for recording dis for 12 hours
i just bought this game today. Thank you for your video. It is not easy to learn how to play. I got killed by these giant rats already. About to start again.
Muchas gracias por tu trabajo, ws excelente. Fallout 1 y 2 son muy buenos juegos, unas joyas.
Imagine loving all the Fallout games instead of it being a competition? They’re all good in their own ways.
no they are not
I usually prefer a commentary on these types of walkthroughs, but honestly with how Fallout is and the fact let's players can't shut up about politics I'm fine with no commentary
There's a reason I go to Star Marshal. It's nice to be able to just enjoy the game without having to hear some dude breathing into the mic or saying stuff that has no relation to the content.
Well tbf it's not like fallout isn't political lmao
@@Pokepoketpoke Fallout suffers from being infected by people who will make the politics not what they should be about
thank you for playing silently. no bullshit talk. cool
Anytime. Thanks for watching.
I've been recently introduced to it due to fallout3 being free in epic. I wanted to see the very first one thank you for this
No problem! Hope ya like the classics too.
Is it still free?
I had no idea that flares were used in the dark to improve accuracy.
It's tricky to justify since you need a good throw to ensure it doesn't go off the mark and it's rare you're in the dark. That being said, dropping them on the floor and leaving one active in the inventory mitigates that issue. Very useful for dealing with the deathclaw near the Hub.
Hold on!!! Ron Pearlman did the intro for fallout 1 too. That's crazy.
He literally was the historic narrator and possibly storyteller of the series
@@krashface4870 Lol I started with 3 man. See this is why they need to remake or port 1 and 2 to the consoles without roms or a game expansion. I had no clue Ron was apart of the franchise this long.
Troika team were geniuses. I love Fallout and Arcanum. They were young back then and full of great ideas. I dont think it would be possible to create such games today. The ascetics of making video games changed.
Having never played anything other than fallout 4 I would just like to say that after watching this video the music and this game is absolutely fucking phenomenal.
Wow, you're really good at this game. Holy shit.
Really good graphics and story line tbh
Wait, another fucking fallout 1 longplay? My birthday isn't for like another week dude
Well consider it a surprise then. Happy early birthday =]
I think Ian is the mysterious old man that the FO2 protagonist meet in Vault city's bar since he tell the protagonist that they look like "someone he know" if you talk with him
ian dies in necropilis torched with flamer
Used to spend hours pick pocketing everyone, and then had to reload when I would get caught. If you don't get the waterchip in time your vault dies, and then the mutants can find the vault before you beat them too. Was a great game with multiple endings. Loved it
I always thought of this game as a linear, relaxing one. Where if I'm done building in 4, or RP-ing in New Vegas or 3, I just fire this up, farm some Super Mutant encounters for XP, or clear out The Glow or the Hub again, as is routine. Well put together vdeo.
The master has bin forgiven
the power armour is so satisfying
The madman did half of the military base on 1 HP 😱
Ah another Fallout veteran who knows tricks and other stuff :D
12 hours of fallout holy mole
You play so dangerously but effective. Though your looting skills need some work. A follower has infinite carry space if you trade everything to them. Theyll trade those items back to you for a fraction of its usual worth. And then u can just freely pickpocket everything back
Yeah, there's definitely things I can still improve on. With loot I feel it doesn't matter as much in the first game when you break the economy with gambling or high barter. Early on it's great to make fast caps, buy not so much once the Sniper rifle is acquired.
came to this so i can watch the ending. I'm in the basement of the cathedral and ran out of the motivation to finish
All I remember from my older brother playing this when it came out are the stim packs
This is an important form of game reservation! Love & kisses to people who perserve & archive media history.
without slavery you'd be stuck in africa
Adding comment to show appreciation!!
This game taught me more English than 10 years of primary school
Thanks for this video 😊
The most impressive part of this 12 h long video is that he only needed 30 seconds for his character build .
And I was going slow intentionally to show off information. Nothing worse than watching the first part of someone else's series and it takes 20+ minutes to get started.
First of all, this is such a beautifully done playthrough. Second, I thought there was no way to beat ZAX at chess. Did you mod in a win condition?
Thank you kindly. High Int certainly seems to help. Could’ve been my decent Luck too? I really need to play vanilla Fallout without the fixit restoration mod to see the real differences. Even with those high stats it’s very easy to loose to ZAX.
@@StarMarshal Very interesting. I've played multiple times with high int (maxed actually) and high luck and perception but have never been able to do it. Might be some super unlucky rng.
@@NightShot444 did you select the same settings for the game? Might be why. I didn’t experiment too much with those other variants.
@@NightShot444 I just looked it up. Turns out there’s a bug so if you play the standard version you can never win.
@@StarMarshal Oh! Thanks for the info. Also, love the stuff you do. Really looking forward to starting your fallout 2 playthrough. I can tell you've put a massive amount of hours into these games and it's so great to see someone play my childhood games so masterfully. Keep up the great work!
Bought the fallout pack from steam years ago, now to try to play through the first one!
It's a great experience! Hope you enjoy it =]
thanks Marshal Star!
HELL YEAH! THIS VID IS GONNA LAST ME DAYS!
Who knew the overseer was the true villain in the end. The main character risked his life several times just to save his home, and what does he get in return? He gets pushed out by the overseer, realizing people would want to leave the vault.
Gonna grab a nuka-Cola and watch this, it's gonna be great.
Joseph?
The Joseph Dredd?
Then he wandered the wasteland (cursed Earth) to enforce THE LAW(instead of finding water chip)
