- I just wanted everyone to know what's going on with me, and by extension, the near-term content on the Serious Keto channel. I wanted you to know why video releases may be a little erratic and why I may seem a little "off" in some videos.
This video was very hard for me to record, and I hope that people will be respectful in the comments. I know this video won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I consider us all part of a community and it was important for me to share this with you.

Sorry for your furbaby loss. Lost my two elderly cats the last two years. At age 57, I told God I'm done, no more , it hurts too much. Clearly God knew I was to continue serving the needy...rescued a one-eyed black mini panther kitten. Two thousand dollars later, his eye bad eye removed and neutered, he's thriving and a big love bug. 💖🐾👁
The same thing happened to us. We were not going to get another one after we lost our old gal Vera but a family friend found a tiny kitten on her porch so I said "bring her over!" Lol they bring such sunshine to our lives. Kittens are the purrrfect medicine for the heart

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my 3 rescue fur kids in 3 consecutive months the summer of 2022. it takes time, yet I still cry. Praying for you all. ❤
I'm so sorry to hear this. The loss of a pet is devastating. He will always be with you. You took care of him through the end. Good cat dad.
We lost all four of our geriatric pets over a 12 month period: a 16yo dog, a 20yo cat, and two 18yo cats. It was really hard. The house was way too quiet. We ended up adopting three rescue kitties, two 2yo (bonded pair), and a 7yo. We still miss our old guys but these new little ladies bring us lots of joy.
It’s the best tribute to the ones you have lost to adopt another who needs a home, isn’t it? They don’t replace the dearly departed in any way, but they help you focus on something positive.
So sorry for your loss Steve...I went thru the same thing in November with my dog Sparky...he would have been 12 last week. The new puppy is 8 months now and has kept me sane, but she doesn't replace my dog who died from cancer. I've always weighed the deaths of pets against all the wonderful good years together and, in my opinion, there is no contest. They enrich our lives so much. We lost 3 elderly cats over a 3 month period. Got a new kitten, who died after a couple of months of FIP. I just took in a grown male cat that the neighbors were having trouble with in their apartment. He was very traumatized, but he's starting to act just like the video of Thumper.
We lost our beloved cat, Marshall, also. He looked alot like your Thumper, w beautiful gray hair. He was about the same age when he started showing the same symptoms of shutting down and started hiding. He lost half of his weight in just a few days of not eating, and finally, didnt have the energy to make it to the litter box or jump ip on our bed like he used to. My husband came across some information about omega 3 and vitamin B12. So I started him w that 3 times a day from a dropper n he quickly regained his weight back and back to being himself. We were able to enjoy him for another 1 1/2 years before he shut down again. Hope this will help others. So sorry for your loss.
I love cats. I have a feral family in my back yard, a mom and her 2 kittens. I also have an indoor cat. All the feral cats have been to the vet for vaccines and neutering. My indoor cat also gets regular vet visits.
I soldiered through this and was holding my own, but then you said, "Goodnight, Thumper." Take some time, Steve. We will be here.

Oh Steve (and family), I am so sorry for your loss. Our furry babies are so much a part of the fabric of our family. We have to be responsible guardians though, and be an advocate. We had to bid farewell to our sweet Tabitha back in September. She was 16, and it was heart wrenching for us. My sincere condolences.
Sorry for your loss. The last time a cat of mine died so traumatized me it was 25 years before I adopted again, about a year ago. Now I've got two little "panthers" controlling my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my 22-year-old cat a month ago. It was best for her but it was hard to let her go. I hope your memories of Thumper help ease this time of grief.

I’m so sorry, Steve. Thumper sounds like a super cat and member of the family. It’s so hard to lose our furry members. My husband and I have had many dogs and some cats throughout our lifetime. We lost our best, Annie, about a year ago. And because of our age and health problems, we knew she was to be our last. It still hurts not to have a dog around, particularly as we have very few friends. No one will replace Thumper, of course, but be encouraged that when the time is right, you can get another cat and another hopefully 20 years of new adventure awaits you. This, too, will pass, but your amazing memories if an incredible cat will be yours to treasure forever.
Even though some will say, "It's only a cat," you know he was a full member of your family. Take all the time you need to grieve. We'll still be here when you're ready to pick things back up. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Oh Steve. I had to put my mini poodle Holly down last week. Within weeks she gotten so ill that we had no choice. After a week I'm still mourning. I too have to fight the guilt I feel about it but I also remember how she would look at me imploring me to end her pain. In her trust in me it is like she knew she was asking me to do the unthinkable. Now I am trying to concentrate on how loved she was and how much she loved me. As I go through the day memories of her little behaviors that showed how devoted she was to me are bittersweet but prove that she lived a loved life. I will pray that your pain eases and you can smile again in remembrance.
Steve, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you. I have lost three fur babies over the past 3 years and I totally understand the depth of loss. The ending had me laughing, but with an ache in my heart.... because I've been there (most recently in 2018 with my Doberman- cancer, 2021 with my Great Dane- cancer, & 2022 with my other Doberman-DCM).
My heart hurts for you all, but thank you for not making Thumper suffer once it became apparent he was not going to get "better".

I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet kitty, when you said "Good night Thumper" I started crying. Our little 12 year old dog Nibbles has a bad heart murmer, and enlarged heart and congestive heart failure. I give him medication twice a day and he is doing pretty well, but we know he is living on borrowed time and we are so grateful for every added good day. Thank God for softies like you and my husband! Y'all make the world a better place.
I am so sorry for your loss! My husband and I had to make the same, extremely difficult, decision almost two years ago with our 16.5 year old mini schnauzer, Sasha. She joined our family at 8 weeks old and quickly became the queen! She was my constant companion. I work from home so she was with me all day and slept in between my husband and me at night. Losing her was one of the most difficult things we have ever gone through, so completely understand. Much love and prayers to you and the family. Give yourself the time to grieve! Much love, I understand what you're going through. I had to put my Tawnee, AKA Tawny One, to sleep almost two years ago. She was 18 and had kidney failure. I had given her fluids under her skin for six months, but when she quit eating and didn't want to be on me--where she always was--I knew it was time to say goodbye. I had jokingly told my mom that I was going to get two kittens when I had to say goodbye to Tawnee, and about two weeks after she died I found a tiny yellow kitten crying in my yard. I took him in and bottle fed him and ended up with one of his litter mates as well. The joy they've brought has definitely eased the pain of losing my Tawny One.
So sorry for your loss Steve. But don’t forget to relish the great memories and be comforted in the fact that you and yours gave him a loving home for so long. As a cat parent myself I know that they appreciate the love as well. Take the time you need - we’ll still be here…..
Crying with you. Our daughter and son in law had to put down their Golden Lab a month ago. When they weren’t home he would find a way out the door and would often come over to “Grandmas house.” He would open our door and walk right in. He was a people dog and didn’t like being alone. We miss him so much. He was such a sweetie. Very cute video at the end. I know he was comforting to have him sleep with you. 💕

I can relate. Had to make that decision last October. Waldo started doing the same things, not eating etc. Swore, no more cats. It hurt too much. Then 2 weeks before Christmas our dog alerted to the back door at 2am. Turned on the light and there was about a 6 week old kitten, starving. Long story short, she lives with us now. God works in mysterious ways. It does get easier. Hang in there.

He stayed within 5' of me for almost 13 years. I felt the same guilt about making the choice to let him go to where he would no longer feel pain. Brother, I feel for you. I have personally buried several great cats in the woods behind my family home after their happy lives were over, my tears falling into the holes as I filled in the dirt. They are truly members of the family and it is very difficult to say goodbye. Peace.

They are your family. I was and still feel very guilty. I never watched Marly and me or any other dog shows because I just start crying. You were his human. That alone says a lot.

Aweeee Hugs...I lost both my Golden Retrievers due to age related illness(15.5 and 14.5) in 2020 one month within each other. I understand how sad this is. lots of hugs to you both. I am so very sorry for your loss. Thumper had a wonderful life with you both. 😢💔

Our 14 YR West Highland terrier did the same thing, she wouldn’t eat and after 8 days of struggling to get any food down her we decided we couldn’t let her go this way. We called a kind vet who came to our home and we held her as she took her last breath. And with our 18 YO deaf cat we knew he was going so we tried keeping him inside to keep an eye on him but somehow he made it outside, left and never returned. We walked and looked and looked but he was deaf so we knew he couldn’t hear our calls. We take comfort in that we know he went on his terms. Animals are part,of the family they give so much but we must love them enough to let go when it’s time.💕
As a cat mom, there's almost nothing harder than losing your kitty. They live for such a long time, that sometimes we have them in our homes longer than we have our own kids. The loss and grief are very real. They are family, despite what too many naysayers think. Sorry for the loss of your kitty, Steve.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I completely understand what you mean. When my cat Snickers passed at 16 years last October, I was a wreck for a good while and still get choked up thinking of him. I'm sure Thumper knew how much you loved him. He clearly loved you too.
Ohhh myyyy goodness!😢💔 I haven't commented on here, but maybe once a long time ago. I'm so, so very sorry for your loss! We TOTALLY understand the loss. We love our pets as our children. They have their quirky and sweet personalities. It is devastating.
Through the yrs we've had to put 3 of 4 dogs down, due to old age except 1. He passed in his sleep at the age of 17.
It honestly made us not want to get another pet, because you just feel so heartbroken, you dont want to go through that over and over again. But, 2 1/2 yrs ago, we bought our sweet boy Diesel, Cane Corso dog. He is just precious and we wouldn't take anything for him. He loves us so much, as we do him. He has to be beside us at all times. We know there will be a day we will have to face a loss again, but we now try to look at it as, they only have a certain lifespan, and though it will still break our hearts deeply, and though our fur babies are only with us a short while during our lives, we are with them for their whole life showing love and care for them to live a full, happy life..
The emptiness, I know, seems so hard, but know he was one happy, cherished, and loved fur baby, and y'all loved him more than he could've ever asked for.❤
He lived a good life!

This was my third time and I really don't want to have to experience it again. Another commenter posted something really wonderful to the effect of "our pets give us many of the best days of our lives, and one of the worst."
Amen! That is so very true.. They do give us many, many wonderful yrs of love and memories, and also one of the most hurtful heartaches/heartbreaks when we lose them. I totally agree!😪💔

I'm so sorry for the loss of sweet Thumper. He really loved you! We have always been a cat family and have had several over the years. Those of us that work at home always have our little companions right next to us. When they are suddenly gone it breaks our hearts and our routines. I'm so sorry for your loss, Steve. They find a way to let us know when the time is right. We lost our 16-year-old a few years back and our 20-year-old almost a year ago to the day. We adopted a new rescue kitty in November and that helps, but we still mourn our fur babies. And please don't apologize for showing your emotions. I was crying right along with you. 😢

It's wonderful you were together for 20 years. And it's obvious how much you love him. I've had dogs and cats my whole life (68 years so far). They always go, fast or slow, old or young, foreseen or out of the blue, it all sucks. It' the price for their companionship and love, and I'll keep paying it because it's so wonderful to live with animals. My heart goes out to you and your family. Of course take all the time you need.
