The production of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire built more than just the ground floor of the iconic Firehouse set--they fleshed the living quarters above in a fully-realized multi-story shooting set! Adam and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire's Production Designer Eve Stewart walk through these previously never-before-seen rooms of the firehouse to examine what it takes to make a set like this feel lived in and real.

Please tell me you're gonna show us the practical ghosts in this movie like slimer
For those of you who have not seen the film, DON'T DO IT.
DO NOT PAY TO SEE THIS FILM. This was the worst film I've ever paid to see. It made Pink Flamingos feel like Gone With The Wind. Soooooo bad 👎 😑
@@chestyvulva dude the movie was amazing! I don't know what you're on, but it was great😂
I watched it because of u
I’d honestly watch Adam savage set tours for the rest of my life. I love this content, the whole series and how well you draw answers out the people who work on the set.
unfortunately most sets arent this cool. these people, from top down, are all super into the franchise and love this work and their passion shows
She needs her own show! She's awesome!
Her passion for these sets really is something to see, the way her face lights up when she's talking about the design process shows a genuine love for her work. I'd love to see more of her or more people like her. This set tour has been overall great so far.
I love that she was so proud of starting out in theater. Theater is one take and in 3D.
The details that go into that set are just mind-boggling. I LOVE that they did this with a practical set instead of trying to CGI-polish in everything. I would think as an actor it would be SO much easier to understand and get into your character when you can so realistically plant yourself into their daily lives.
It's so hard to believe that this is a movie set. It look incredibly realistic! Excellent job!
Eve really is such an inspiring character herself.
That set should never be pulled down, it’s a piece of art. Start selling studio tours to it.
That's a great way to preserve sets for generations.
In London no less, already many tourists there. I'd go!
The fact that they thought through the details of the floor and ceilings being re-done because of the containment unit explosion from the first film absolutely blows my mind. They truly have the love for the source material and it shows in every detail.
Years ago I visited New York City and made a pilgrimage to the firehouse. Spent ages going up and down streets, failing to find the bloody place! This was during the "snow bombe" so few passers by, one lady coming out of an apartment had no idea what Ghostbusters was. Eventually someone pointed me in the direction of a building covered in scaffold and tarpaulin...
These kind of sets makes me believe in film again. Not just digital screens and digital animations.
I would love to see a mini-series breaking down how they built the firehouse and set. Showing off every fine detail. They could also do it for the lab. I could watch it for hours on end
I just love her enthusiasm , you can tell she loves her job and attention to detail 😎
I love Adam's enthusiasm and pure joy
Sony checks help
@@BartT75good for him, he's living his dream
Sony just paid for travel. Adam did this because he loves the franchise and production.
Don't you love Adam's inner child always close to the surface. And yeah, this is an amazing set by Eve and her team.
It's important to keep your inner child alive. It keeps you mentally young.
Shame they can’t keep the sets I’d pay to see them!!
This was fascinating, but you can see in a couple of shots that this entire 3 story structure is built inside a sound stage, and I would have loved to have seen the outside, in particular how it is lit, because there is great "natural" looking light coming through those windows. so good.
I absolutely love listening and watching Eve. Between this video and the tour of the labs, you can tell she is so passionate about her work and especially her work on this movie. There is a woman who's never worked a day in her life. That passion makes all the difference and I know other set designers are just as passionate about their work, but it's great to see a face to all of the others who don't get the spotlight but work just as hard bringing these worlds to life for us. Makes me incredibly appreciative of her and other set designers as well. And thank you Adam and the Tested crew for making her feel like the most important person in the room. ❤️
I really enjoyed the movie, and especially having seen several of these behind the scenes clips. They did a nice job of capturing the original feel while making it a new story that stands on its own. So many sequels or remakes nowadays seem to mangle the franchise.
Eve Stewart It's incredible, it shows that he put a lot of heart into the design of the sets, I hope to see his work again in another Ghostbusters movie
What a lovely person! Regardless of how the film ended up being you can't fault the passion behind it.
What a wonderful woman! Thank you for introducing her to us, Adam!
Please tell me they've taken lots and lots of high-res photos of every square inch. I want to see all the little bits and pieces of this set. It's absolutely beautiful and how I always imagined it looking. About the only set that competes with it in my mind is the Turtles lair from the first TMNT film back in the 90's.
I really love that this movie is still using the practical effects to make the movie come to life
That's why I love the modern Fury Road approach, try to do as much as reasonably possible in-camera and then use effects to take it to the next level.
I love that this BTS series has shown the level of detail and love that has been put into this new film!
Also there has been easter eggs I have noticed in this coverage that I didn’t notice in the film!
I would love to see more with Eve Stewart! What a fantastic lady and what a brilliant Production Designer!! This is something I have always wanted to do or be part of!!
Adam and crew did a great job of capturing the real feel I got in the theater last weekend when I saw the film. Great!
They did a fantastic job mimicking the 1900s art style for the building.
I wish someone had done this type of tour in the Addams Family mansion back in 1991!
This was great. I love the Ghostbusters firehouse. Such a perfect location for that story and those characters. I wasn't expecting the set to actually be three separate floors on top of each other. I thought maybe each floor would be a separate set and they'd use movie magic to make it all seem like one location. Really awesome to see they actually built it top to bottom.
Everybody needs Adam Savage to come by their workplace and just gush for an hour over how awesome their work is.
So fun. The Ghostbusters were my favorite thing as a kid. I just went to see the new one and I was getting teary-eyed at all the easter eggs and nostalgia. It was so much fun & it was the new GB film original fans deserved. ❤
What a cool interview. Two people who have so much in common (one set designer, one prop designer) and both so passionate about the details about physical things that the viewer of a movie might not even notice (when it's done right, when it feels just real).
What an awesome set. You can really tell she enjoys her work. Especially when people notice the details.
This lady’s charming personality and love of her artistic work is immediately endearing. What a treat to have a chance to share her passion through her words and the results of her efforts.
I like how the Firehouse is shown a lot more in detail like never before in the movie. It's a character in itself.
I hope I someday find something that brings me as much joy as Eves sets bring her
You really can smell Trevor's room! But what else made me go "oh" is the creaking floorboards
I would pay so much money to wander around the Firehouse.
Good use of the word Peripatetic. (adjective, 1.traveling from place to place, in particular working or based in various places for relatively short periods.
"the peripatetic nature of military life")
The movie was great. So much of the crews love for the franchise comes through on screen.
Ghostbusters always been huge in the UK everyone working there was probably a fan in 84 & 89 I know I was
I’ll say this. The entire budget is up on screen for this movie. Such care and attention and love. Adoring these videos.
We should all aspire to love and pour ourselves into our work like this lady
So fantastic to see all the care and attention put into these sets
Eve Stewart enthusiasm is a joy to see
Always nice to meet more of the people who all bring their A-game to give us these movies!
Feels like they should be up and running for a TV series! They have their interiors totally designed. That's gotta save money next time right
I love seeing the thought processes and work that is involved in production so awesome to here them speak on it!
These set tours have been awesome. I wish they would sell those proton pack sketches as posters! I would love to hang those up on my wall!
Can we get Adam in the next Ghostbusters movie ?
Eve and her team are simply amazing 👏
I love these kinds of videos. Awesome. Although I had kind of hoped we would see Adam try out the fireman's pole....
Eve Stewart seems like an absolute Gem.
She was fantastic!!
Hopefully they'll be visiting Ray's Occult shop :)
The Yes Have Some channel has posted a video in the bookstore ( ruclips.net/video/dCKPU5Tmp3M/видео.html ) and some other fun videos around the set. I'm sure Adam will post his visit soon, I'm looking forward to it.
@@JAbell1966 - That scratched my itch! Thanks :)
Eve is amazing, I can tell shes great to work under
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
Now that we have seen all the floors of the Firehouse, someone needs to create a floor plan of the Firehouse from Frozen Empire.
It would be really cool if the Firehouse internal sets would have been 3D scanned so they could be virtually walked through
My wife and I went to the movies on Saturday and love it. Honestly, Phoebe is our favorite character in both Frozen Empire and Afterlife. I love how they developed her character, and just who she is the person, between the two movies.
It's also amazing how perfectly natural she looks on set, as young, black haired girl. if you go look at her in real life, she's a young blonde woman, who actually looks to be quite a bit older than she really is. Whatever the case, she's a wonderful actress.
In my appartment in (NL) we use -1,0,1 etc. in the elevator for the floors, simple 😂
If i was american, i would have had a career in filmsets/prop building. These are so interesting to see and hear about! Thanks Adam & Tested team for doing these tours!
But, who you going to call next?!... 👻
she is really good at what she does
Love this ❤
So many sets are like the Tardis. Bigger inside than outside. Usually you cannot tell when watching a film so it does not spoil the illusion.
YAY, Eve is back! :D
Going to see the movie rn! 😊
6:55 why is Glen Campbell's photo 🖼️obscured❓
They would probably have to pay to use his likeness !
Please tell me if there is already, but don't you think it would be great to have a public library of these analyses and catalogues for recreation, e.g., the binders they spoke about, full of notes and information like grout colour, and the brick and window dimensions of NYC.
6:40 - Lovely Paneling & Paper
Thanks.
So awesome! WHere can we find the drawings in digital form?
I love the fact that he never grew up from being a movie geek like most of us
Awesome Video Adam Savage 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I noticed the pink headboard for Gary and Callie is the same one from Dana's apartment in the first movie.
I wish the script and editing of this film would have had the same care and attention to detail as the set designers and prop makers.
So they didn't really based it on the Firehouse from Los Angeles. The dining area where the guys eat before their first call they don't have stairs that leads up to a third floor.
Fact. I actually got the feeling in the movie that it was an actual living space that exists. 😊
hi i am working on drawing alot of the firehouse so been screen shotting and using your video for reference i hope that is ok?
i do how ever have some questions about the sets are you able to talk about the sets on here outside of what you posted?
So even the set director says it was a romantic angle. Phoebe was crushing on Melody and vise-versa.
i could watch her talking about stuff for hours.
Right?!
Great video sir
I wish so much that they would go all Wizarding World this and add it to a theme park.
This is amazing! I really hope this doesn't become a lost art with CGI and AI becoming so common these days. This type of set makes everything so much better quality!
This woman is amazing.
Adam I know your on a set for the frozon empire but might I ask in the firehouse when you go up the 1st floor stairs where do come on on the 2nd floor. Do you exit the stairs in the liitle room next Callies and Garys room? I just can not figure this out.
Cool.
Came here for the thumbnail, and to make it rain on an Adam Savage dancing on a pole. 🤭
But the most important question in my mind comes from Ray Stantz:
“Hey! Does this pole (do those poles) still work?”
is that a creality ender 2- pro in the bedroom?
Adam is so lucky. 😊
I'd love to have a job like hers because I spend a lot of time judging movies for stuff like this and for some reason I really hate continuity errors from scene to scene.... 😮❤
Here in Argentina we count ground floor and from there 1st floor, 2nd floor
But in Brazil it is 1st floor and then 2nd...😊
I just wanna walk around the whole thing and poke at everything.
It would be great if they created a digital Ghostbusters reference library that contains absolutely every detail of the Ghostbusters world, a library so detailed it contains, as she said, the colour of the wall grout and brick castings...probably a copyright nightmare though, but great for the movie industry.
Having watched Afterlife and not liking the tone so much (I honestly think that 2016 was a better attempt, ableit failed, to capture the original), Eve alone is really making me want to go see Frozen Empire.
What happens to everything when the set is torn down? What effort is put into preserving for future sequels? Or is it just rent the same stuff but mostly start from scratch?
Why is that album blurred out at 6:47? Looks like Donnie Osmand? or George Strait?
To me, it looked like Glen Campbell.
@@nathansnyder971 Yeah, that was the one I was actually thinking. Not George. Thanks for the clarification.
That was a Sony blur request.
@@tested Ahh, ok. Thanks. I was thinking it may have been related to a spoiler, but I did not remember it from the movie.
I'm co confused. There's a new Ghostbusters movie? Why? Why haven't there been any press at all? No ads? Nothing? Like I love Ghostbusters, and I... exist. No ads anywhere. You'd expect it to be all over the metro, bus stops and stuff. Without these videos I wouldn't know of it.
So, who is blurred out at 6:54?
I think that is Glenn Campbell!? Popular singer way back when. Looks like an album.
Adam we want to see BTS from Ecto 1 too!!
