    Don't apologize for being down. This is the reality of withdrawal and you're sharing that. Just because it's a struggle doesn't mean it's not worth it. I've tried to quit several times in the past and your video popped up in my recommended seemingly out of nowhere. I feel like maybe I should be taking it as a sign that I should be trying again soon. Thank you.

      It’s definitely worth it! The days of withdrawal may seem arduous and almost impossible at times, but you have those moments of reprieve when you know you are setting yourself free.

    thank you for making this. my husband has been struggling for 7 years. had 2 months sober after rehab but has recently relapsed. i haven’t been able to understand what he’s been going through and the way he’s acted. kratom has ruined us. thank you for the vulnerability. i hope life is finding you well today ❤

      I’ve been on Kratom 2 years. The first month was wonderful! I thought to myself Kratom isn’t a drug since I could buy it at any gas station. I spent all our savings 40k$ in 2 years buying the liquid Kratom shots. I lost so much weight, I don’t exercise any more, I’m losing my hair,I don’t sleep with my wife anymore(I’m on the couch every night).
      Gabapentin and cannabis helped me get through the longest in the past. I’m so sick and tired of being constipated it’s a living hell!
      I wish your family good luck on getting through this Kratom ordeal ❤️

    The path beyond this is thru it. You've got this. I went thru the torture of Benzodiazepine withdrawal. Took 3 years to notice signs of emerging. I am now 5 years on and continue to improve year to year.

    • @sobrietyproject
      @sobrietyproject  3 месяца назад +3

      Never took benzodiazepines long enough to have severe wd, I heard from many that it is worse than opiates coming down. Glad you are free!

    • @THXx1138
      @THXx1138 3 месяца назад +1

      @sobrietyproject That's the thing about benzos- one could take them for a short period and suffer injury. There are others who have taken them daily for years without issue. Vast majority of those who suffer the injury take them as prescribed. It's not an addiction issue but one of physical dependence. There are changes that occur within the central nervous system that remain. Opiates don't do that.

    • @ko7302
      @ko7302 Месяц назад

      Honestly don't compare benzos with kratom. Quiting benzos can KILL YOU. I have been on them its NOTHING like quitting kratom. Kratom helped me get off that satanic drug. Glad you got off of them. It's so hard.

    I really am proud of people who keep on pushing even though the odds are against them. You shouldn't feel bad or blame yourself for things that you can't fully control, like your sleep schedule, your energy level or your concertration. Take your time, healing is not an easy task, but when you are completely done with it, your sober and healed self will be grateful for your hard work. I believe in you. Trust yourself

    The trick is to taper down, to the very smallest possible dose.
    I use like 15gs, 2X a day. Whenever I want to stop, I have to taper down half doses until I’m below 3 grams a dose.
    Then a week only one dose a day, then I can stop without withdrawals.
    Last time I stopped without taper it was well into two weeks before withdrawals eased. And without sleep aids, there’s no way.

    I have to suffer Suboxone withdrawal.... I've gone 14 days before I started throwing up. Now I can go about 3 days maybe more if I push it. But it takes 6months to a year to get off Suboxone. After you been doing it for years. I know what withdrawal feels like it's hell. I'm sorry

    I've noticed that the strain available to you has everything to do with your withdrawal. Some people experience a diluted version -- but if you find the real thing your dependency will be intense. My withdrawal was awful. I was like rolling like an alligator in a puddle of sweat in my bed. It was extremely physical for me. Just totally uncomfortable. But hang in there! It does get better. You'll take a big turn in a few days.

  • @Pure1989

    I hope the best for you my friend! I've been on kratom for about 7 or 8 years myself. It did help me quit nicotine and alcohol. But I do wish I hadn't started it because trading one thing for another just isn't what I was aiming for but it is what it is. My job is physically demanding and a family to take care of so quitting cold turkey just wouldn't work for me. Maybe in the future I'll be able to quit it and be completely sober for once in long time. I'm ok with it being my only vice for now because I have lowered my doses quite significantly over the years.
    Shalom my brother.

    • @sobrietyproject
      @sobrietyproject  3 месяца назад +2

      Hey, congrats on quitting nic and alcohol! I certainly support those who use Kratom responsibly, but completely understand the feeling of dependency. Cannabis , sleeping aids and a lot of caffeine, but you don't get any withdraws of any kind if you just wean down. Either way kratom withdraws are nothing compared to real drugs. I took 20 grams a day for 4 years straight and then quit. When you quit kratom you get a very minor withdraw symptom for a little bit which the worst of it is restless legs while trying to sleep and that can be remedied with cannabis and sleep aids. You'll be good in a week or so.

Clonidine, Lyrica, DXM pre bed make withdrawals non existent, I’ve quit kratom several times and use it for periods of time when I’m stressed or have a lot of my plate. These compounds i recommended together should be discussed more because I almost could not believe the relief I experienced from them.

      Lyrica and gabapentin are both gabapentinoids can be used interchangeably.
      Immodium- Large doses.
      Immodium works by targeting opiate receptors in the intestinal tract. The same ones that are subdued by opiates and in turn cause opioid induced constipation.
      Unfortunately it does require large doses, but can be a huge help.
      MARIJUANA PRODUCTS. can shift your mindset . Helps a lot for me.
      Small doses of benzos. Use with caution however.
      Good list though. Be careful with clonidine as it can lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.
