Review is well done. Like that the LED will not get hot like incandescent bulbs. Wish you had played a piece which would be new to us piano freaks. Your smile brightens my day. Thanks.
Interesting lamp and liked the review. Has a lot of fancy features. I like the changing of the brightness of the lamp as my eyes get tired easily and brightness fatigues them. I am looking for a lamp for my Roland 90S but I didn't get to see how it works on a "taller" instrument as the piano music area is much lower than my music area on the Roland. I am wondering if it is sitting that much higher up, if it will then be glaring in my eyes as sit will be above my head. Have you tried it on any of your organs where it is higher to see if that causes glare? Thank you for giving us this review.
You neglected to demonstrate the shade and what effect it has on the light. Oh well. This thing seems way overdesigned for what it needs to do. I'm really unsure about the auto-on feature. I hope that it does not just decide to turn off in the middle of a performance.
James, An Excellent review. There was something I wanted to ask you, You are so fluent in your speech, no matter the subject. You seem to be doing it without a prompter of any kind. Is this because you have been doing it for so many years and no how to prepare ? I know you have an excellent memory, but are there ever any out takes? Just curious, feel free to take the fifth:) Cheers, Rik Spector
For a moment I was like “this is a joke right?”. BenQ really made a piano light!

I think that if it held by a mechanism similar to boom arm microphone holder, it would work really well on a grand.
I guess the power cord is designed to to be like that so that for different regions they only have to make different adaptor heads.
High tech piano lamp! They’ve come a long way from the old brass piano lamps. Thanks, James. Stay safe!
It's quite the impressive device, I've been using it a lot and it's fantastic. I used to have the brass lamps and I personally prefer the BenQ light.
I love pianos I want all of your pianoz
That's a really cool and high quality lamp. I would buy it - I have an upright-facing piano.
you've never met my cat . . . he could knock an anvil off it's stump . . . ;)

Brings out the beautiful Cherrywood on that B3! Glad you're keeping her pretty, James. 😀
It definitely does! Great to hear from you again.
that a lot better than my bankers light that almost reaches the edge
I need to get me one of those!
great review.
When I saw the title, I thought it’s a Light Piano.
It took me a while to realize this was going to be about a piano light, and not a light piano. Pretty cool video though.
Antonio Gallego But not a light light? i.e. heavy.

Most takes are done in one. I started to read at a very young age and I feel that has helped me in speaking and also in writing.
