I'm pretty sure my first "Guy" was Drew McIntyre back when he was the chosen one. Obviously it took him awhile to reach his full potential but even back then there was something about him that just captivated me.

As a kid in school throughout the 2000s and 2010s, LITERALLY everyone was a John Cena guy and I was the only Randy Orton guy in my entire group of friends. And I was always made fun of and teased for it. But I’m so glad I stuck by “my guy” for over 20 years now. Everything he’s been thru with almost being fired so many times, being called boring thru out his entire career, people saying he was never a big draw, I’ve heard it all. Wrestling has never really been my number sport/source of entertainment but Randy really is my child hood hero. All the personal demons he’s had to get past to become who he is now is truly amazing. So cool to see how beloved he is by fans in the arena but I can’t help but notice how much he’s taken for granted by fans online and sometimes even WWE themselves. Great video Simon, happy holidays

So relatable. Randy orton became my guy when he was just heel..pure heel..whereas eveeybody loved cena around me..but Orton was my guy and still is. Then CM punk became one of my guys not in his WWE run after he left wrestling. After leaving, I started watching his old videos and just loved him. Also Finn balor is also my guy. His demon persona was something else. Then Alistar black became my guy, his unbeaten run amd his presentation just did it for me. In recent times, LA knight became my guy. He was nothing..but them he became someOne I started rooting for. LA knight..Yeah!! But Orton will always be my guy, I just come back to watch wrestling just to see him champion again before he retires.

I can see the WWE easily use UK's wrestling beloved Mr Miller in an angle ? He has social skills, the media experience, the look, the mic skills, the physique and the wrestling training, plus the in ring experience to succeed in some small way ? If not the #WWE, the #AEW could certainly incorporate him in a story-line within their story-line starved product ?
    Happy X'mas #SimonMiller.

When you mentioned CM Punk it reminded me of how I got into wrestling. Basically I wasn't making it as a baby face content creator and I was getting disillusioned. So my friend mentioned my heel turn promo style video wound up reading like The Pipe Bomb. I asked what the pipe bomb was because I never paid attention to wrestling even in the 90s and 2000s when I was a kid. That promo resonated so much with me because I was always the outcast in friend groups and in the workplace. After that moment I started studying wrestling promos and that's how I now structure my scripts. Then once I started studying the promos, that was when I started watching highlights of wrestling because it finally clicked for me! Now that WWE is coming to Netflix I'm fully invested. Basically, CM Punk has always been my guy since I got into wrestling as he was my gateway. Now I'll list off my guys:
    1. CM Punk
    2. Drew McIntyre (I'm Canadian but Scottish heritage and have dual citizenship so I support Drew for that reason alone, and I find him just super entertaining to watch!)
    3. Joe Hendry (he's just too fun to not like!)
    4. Christian Cage (his 2005 Impact debut promo resonated with me)
    5. Danhausen (I love the gimmick and like him I'm a smaller guy. We're also the same age, with him being just shy of a month younger)
    6. Seth Rollins (I love his gimmick and his flamboyant style fits with my style too)
    7. Darby Allin (him being a smaller more athletic dude did it for me)
    8. Will Ospreay (just love his style of wrestling and the crowd's reactions to him are great! I'll admit I didn't like Will at first, because I found him a bit too brash then saw him when he was calmer in an interview and realized we had some similar life experiences)
    9. MJF (he's just super compelling and his promo work inspires me)
Anyways, thanks for the video Simon and Merry Christmas to you!

Oba Femi became my guy the night of deadline. I hadn't watched nxt since they became 2.0 so I never got to see the build of a lot of the wrestlers on the roster. The second his music hit, the feeling in the arena changed. The crowd reaction was crazy and the way Booker T put him over on the way to the ring told me everything I needed to know about this guy. I'm currently going back to watch his NA title reign and I gotta say, THIS IS MY GUY🔥🔥🔥

Back in the day, my guy was Mr Perfect. Even though he was a heel, I always rooted for him. In the early 2000’s it was William Regal. The obnoxious wave to the crowd always made me laugh. While I will always be an Asuka super fan, I’ve always had a soft spot for Michin, Deonna Purrazzo, Thekla and Xia Li (Lei Ying Lee). On the men’s side, it’s probably Kevin Owens and Keith Lee.

My dad whose passed, his guy was Damien Priest. He sent him a message one day and told him real men have beards. I tried to tell him he had facial hair before WWE and early NXT, but he wanted to see his thought mean something; he died before the heel turn so he never got to see his vision come to fruition lol. He also loved the viking/war raiders, the team up the other night made me tear up cuz it would've blown his mind.

my guy was Edge. From day 1. From his promos before he had his debut, "Toronto's own, Edge", I was hooked. When him and Christian won the tag title over and over again, won the first 3 TLC matches, came back from injury and be the guy to dethrone Randy Orton from his IC run, when he won the king of the ring, when he became the first person ever to win a tag title with Hogan, from the guy who unified the united states and IC title during the invasion, the guy who bean Angle in a hair vs hair match, who won his series with Eddie Guerrero, when he became the first ever money in the bank winner, when he finally cashed in the money in the bank to become the world champ.

Looove this conversation! Broader, why did i fall in love w heavy metal in 1971-82? I don't flubbing know (sorry if you have copyright). I can understand how that evolve into thrash metal, but then post punk? Very different structure. What about my love of new wave in that time period? Of course i couldn't share that with my metal friends....lol. why do people prefer a particular artist? Or author? There are layers....and most don't ask themselves why.... I'm just a nerd in that respect. Big fan of channel and your presentation..

First time I stopped and left it on wrestling as a kid was the Piper's Pit where Andre tore Hogan's necklace off. Andre was the largest human I had ever seen, but seeing Hulk in action was amazing. Had the Hulkamania shirt, was a big mark for Hulk for a long time. That Clash of the Champions that Sting and Flair first did an hour match, I became a Sting guy for years and that was the beginning of me watching WCW wrestling. Years later, loved the Hardy Boyz and everything they did, esp Jeff.
More recently when my son was getting into wrestling, started learning all the new folks. Was so psyched to see Edge's return at the Rumble. We were all impressed w/Rhea Ripley when she was first on the main roster, but when we went to RAW in Louisville in 2021, Rhea was the ONLY person all night who fist bumped my then 7 yr old son. He stood on the rail for the entrance ramp all night and could barely see over it and no one else stopped, but she saw him and smiled and I have it on film. Our entire house have been hardcore Rhea fans ever since. We also became big fans of Facade and Dani Mo when they were so nice to him at his first OVW show that same year. We've become friends w/them and got to see them earlier this year at a GCW show for the first time in a year and a half and it was so great to get to see them again.
Doesn't matter how big the wrestlers are, sometimes it's seeing things on TV, sometimes it's personal interactions, but they can always make their mark on you and change everything.

Yes, Slater. I started to watch in July 2016, and in that time, we had the first Draft in years, and Heath was the only one who didn’t get hired, so, the “I got kids” storyline hapenned. It was so good, i was so happy when he won the tittle with Rhyno and became de first ever smackdown tag team champion.

This resonates so deeply with all of us, I think. When I first started watching wrestling was just before the Monday night war really kicked off. In WWF, my guy was immediately Shawn Michaels. Just immediately I was drawn to his attitude and rhythm in the ring. At the same time, in WCW, my guy was Lex Luger. I can't explain it completely, but something about him was so awesome to me. I remember loving it when he would put someone in the Torture Rack and I went absolutely crazy when he picked up The Giant for the Rack. There have been others over the years, but that's where it started for me.

Also, in WWE today, I am drawn to Jimmy Uso. I love Jey like everyone else, but there is something about Jimmy that I want to see more of. The moments when he shows up at ringside with the hood and bandana and gives that big smile with the tongue out that says "Yeah, it's me. What's up?" And he is so funny during all the old Bloodline segments with Roman. I really wanna see them do more with Jimmy.

My guy right now and since his first stint in the WWE has been Andrade, I just love his work in the ring his presence, his selling. ALL of it. I’ve begged for this man to have a manager, but truthfully give me charlotte and him as. stable, it…. Would feed families.

My first, and eternal, "guy" is Mrs Foley's Baby boy. I read Have a Nice Day when it came out, and that's what got me into wrestling. Another surprising guy for me is AJ Francis. I've met him several times at MLW shows, and he's just a great dude and deserves anything good that comes his way.

I love this concept of "my guy'. I'll be honest, I have many wrestlers who are my guys. It's those performers who give me some unexpected or something that's needed. R-Truth, he has me cracking up whenever he's on screen; Darby Allin, performs like every match is his last and I don't know how his body handles it; or Jey Uso, this guy just energises who arenas

Chris Jericho is my guy.. Back since the Raw Is Jericho times.. Don't even know why i loved him as a kid.. he was always a heel.. was losing most matches.. but he was always so cool.. i stopped watching when he 'left' wrestling around 2005.. i was mildly aware of what was happening but never followed it much until I saw the instagram post where he signed with AEW.. didn't even know what AEW was at that time.. but it rekindled my love for wrestling.. since then I've had many more guys, mostly from AEW but also many from WWE.. So i know i will always love whatever Jericho does no matter how much hated his work/character is..
    Thanks guys..

CM Punk was my guy when I started watching in 2013. Still is to this day and was so happy when he came back to AEW and then WWE. Since Roman became the Tribal Chief he’s been my undisputed guy - aura and presentation of his character is phenomenal. Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton are also my guys, they are smashing it. Jacob Fatu and Dom Mysterio I can see being my future guys - both have so much potential in their own unique ways 🎉

RIP LATINO HEAT. You truly were a huge part in molding me into the man I am today.

Punk was my "1st Guy" I liked how he stood out from the other talent at that time. And loved his Mic skills. Then he left, and shortly after I did too... Not consciously just happened. I would catch it here and there between his exit and then...Flash forward to Beginnings of BL and I'm pulled back in only to shortly get treated with the return of Punk!

Kane was and still my guy. The big red machine got me into wrestling when I was in elementary school. I went away for years before getting back to it and added Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to my guys lists. Kevin was the latest addition in particular due to his recent work in the feud against Cody and the documentary which WWE just released recently!

As a young kid, it was Hulk Hogan, then Scott Hall, and then it was HHH and he will always be my all time favourite wrestler.
Since Drew came back to WWE I've backed him as my guy but I'll be honest, what ever Dirty Dom is up to I'll pay attention to because he's been so much fun to watch and his character work has improved massively over the past couple of year's. Plus, Dom is way more entertaining than his deadbeat dad ever was. 😉
