there is NO GRAVITY on the ISS
Yes there is, it's only a few hundred miles up and force of gravity is only 14 percent less. However, being in orbit, it's moving so fast horizontally that as gravity pulls on it and everything in it, it falls around the Earth. Since everything is falling together, there is weightlessness... but if the ISS were on the tip of a structure a few hundred miles high and stationary, the people inside would have weight.
Obviously an attempt to be similar to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
NASA would never send one person unless like interstellar NASA is a shadow of it's former capability

In a way movie is scary. Just being left for dead as most lonely man that can ever be.
Very beautiful six years in the space station and no one has tried to reach him. Very lovely. Whole time he remains focused to keep the space habitable for the next uses. So he forgets not his mission. So in real when someone is up there on earth they are supposed to do their max to reach them. Which is currently the case. This film is nice because it is what he is doing of his days that counts so first he should have kept on celebrating the festivities as ordained in the calendar year. Because he felt attracted to a woman. All his technical abilities are ok but only his spiritual ability is to be worked on. So despite on earth the nasa still exists what it depicts that they don't try to reach him kuz he is not doing the actions they want him to. Which is as simple as following the calendar yr festivals. For example focusing on celebrating the birthday of someone. This is a very beautifull depiction of what happens when someone is hyperfocussed on mission and vision but less on tradition. This is just an opinion. But very beautiful. The astronauts landed in khazak. If you made it once you can make it twice. It all about time. Nice film to be compared with seule au monde where to combat loneliness he talks to a ball. He keeps his integrity by keeping the FedEx boxes and he finds the solution combating waves and gets rescued and delivers the packet. But his wife waits not for him for five years already went by so he is presumed dead. Very beautiful.
