Azlask, the swelling scourge is a new legendary eldrazi that will be responsible for inducing a ton of Salt in a lot of playgroups. Mtg modern horizon 3 spoilers magic the gathering edh commander
i would love to see this built in the most degen style possible just to have a "F you" deck to whip out when people are being pricks
For me its my Hidetsugu and Kairi chain spells with Clone, take extra turns, steal their stuff and make them discard their hands. I take a really long turn and win, makes me fell bad every time I use it LOL ;p
I built this deck this weekend with Eldrazi spawn creation and token doublers. Then double activated abilities so I could get extra value of activating Azlask. Played one on one games with a streamed line Sliver overloard deck. I went 2/1. If I could make it to turn 8-10 slowing the other opponent down blocking to build experience counters. I would activate my commanders ability then copy it and swing for an obsurd amount of damage. I had big time issues with drawing cards consistently. So back to the drawing board. But to anyone that wants to build this. I think its an awesome deck to play and longer the game goes the more you have a chance to just swing for an insane amount of damage.
Definitely need to see this build I’ve been really excited for this commander to come out.
The Ezuri Otharri combo you added to your experience counter deck works perfectly here as well
And make them all Scions and Spawns with Maskwood Nexus ;p
I would love to see it built! A sort of Typal soup that has a win con in the command zone.
Finally, a commander that produces experience counters faster than the others. Mizzix can be thrown in the ninety-nine to make instants and sorceries easier to cast and won't distract from the commander's goal because it too can make experience counters faster. I would like to see how you can make this companion deck because I've been putting off my WUBRG deck to play that companion with a strong commander.
I think people are over complicating Azlask.
Scions and spawns spam lots. Get in triggers like bastion of remebeance, zula port cutthroat, grave pact.
Flood with scions/spawns. Sac to summon ulamog (of whatever flavour) trigger on death effects then swing with an ulamog that gets like +15/+15 for the turn.
Obviously 100 scions with ahinalator is game winning but i juat dont get why people are not hyping the infinate spawn combo with stuff bastion of remeberance.
You can literally get infinite experience counters with Ojer Taq and Spawnsire of Ulamog, holy hell this thing is busted
As somone who is building this least for his next CEDH tourny. I can't wait.... We need to discusses more :P
I thought this was the ore interesting of the commander choices out of the 2 options. You can do typal, or aristocrats or aggro alot of applications.
But can we put all XP counter generators in this deck? Ezuri seems like a good fit right out of the gate.
You definitely can. I have a Sisay Experience counter deck with all of them in it, but you could use them in here too if you want. Ezuri would be great, but so would Meren in terms of racking up counters quickly. Othari synergizes well with both of these. Minthara will help finish your opponents. This deck will be stupid

You can just don't care about experience counters and try to annihilate every permanent on the board. Keep always five mana to protect those scions or put an eldrazi monument , and you get your last game before to be kicked out of your playgroup :)

I still love playing my Kamahl fist of Krosa deck because it can cast repeatable Overruns so when I saw this spoiled...Yes please.
Very Underrated, basically having a stackable 5 mana anthem effect on my commander is busted, that's right if you manage 10 mana its +X/+X x2 + annihilator 2 and if you use other Experience counter generators you don't need to cast your commander till your ready to win in a single turn...is Azlask like the Eldrazi equivalent of a Craterhoof? Oh sorry buddy (Decimator of Provinces cry in the corner) ;p
It's definetly gonna be an annihilator tribal thing and I'm just not gonna play against that in casual.
The new Ulamog, the Defiler is over the top broken as well. I used to be able to begrudgingly accept some power creep in the game, but this new MH3 set is ridiculous. Cannot stand how all the new sets just continue to be stronger and stronger making so many older, great cards completely obsolete.
Edit: Ha, just heard back from the rest of my playgroup, and they have all agreed that nobody is going to build an Eldrazi deck, nor even play and Eldrazi from the new set.
Also, darn you WotC, my medallions are gonna go down in price again with another reprint.
The powercreep is getting worse, but i think reprints like the medallions is a great thing for everyday normal ppl that love to play edh but dont want to or cant spend lots of money on cards, nevertheless wishing you the best in your mtg jurney friend 😄

it is over the top, indeed. But again, a classic example of people not being able to tone down their decks. You dont NEED to run those crazy busted degenrate OP top broken cards. Why are people so afraid of not including those cards in their decks..
@@ChrisenMedia ya, this is the reason nobody in my playgroup plays Eldrazi. We had one (well two, but the second guy won't play with us anymore cuz he won't limit himself) guy that was willing to tone down his decks after demolishing us with HIS Eldrazi decks, and he has since said he has wayyyyyy more fun with slower decks and longer games where he can build momentum rather than pubstomping or winning in one big overwhelming turn. He's also said it made him a much better player because it taught him how to actually watch and compete consistently against three other players rather than just hoping his deck would get there first, or that nobody had a counter spell at the right time. He relied ONLY on his big decks rather than his skill, whereas now he enjoys winning AND losing because it was his skill that made the difference.
