- Welcome back to Boxing After Dark, In todays video we travel back to 2016 in a bout of England Against Kazakhstan for three of the four belts of the middleweight division. With both Kell Brook and Gennady Golovkin AKA Triple G undefeated at the time.

Brook was surprisingly competitive. Tough as nails.
Brook is one of the most badly managed fighters in the last 20 years of British boxing, they never pushed him when they should have and he ended up getting maimed by someone 2 divisions above him
GGG's ring generalship is a pleasure to watch. His desire to assert his will on his opponent can only bring joy to a boxing fans heart. The pressure and relentless aggression had Brook done by round 5, constantly on the backfoot.
Brook was way smaller, hardly surprising
The thing that is surprising is that GGGs best win is a welterweight or Danny Jacobs lol in close to 50 fights
This was when GGG was at his machine-like peak. Formidable, tough and scary. A human terminator. Brook is still in rehab now.
They didn't mention that GGG broke Brook's orbital bone in this fight. Then Spence broke the other one in his next fight. I'm glad he got a good pay day with the Khan fight to end his career. He deserved it.
GGG has been the most fun boxer to watch for his entire career. It'll be a while before we see another artist like GGG. Great video.

It's such a shame so many great fighters dodged fighting GGG during his best years. We'll never know how many great fights we got cheated out of. At least Brook had the courage to put it on the line.
And costed him his eyesight
You forgot to mention the main reason Ingle threw the towel in, GGG broke Brook’s orbital bone early in the fight. It was only a matter of time before he got seriously hurt. Great stoppage imo. Then Spence broke his other orbital bone not too long after. Brook needs to stay retired. A very solid career and no need to take years off the back end of his life taking needless punishment. GGG should retire too and goes down as one of the top 5 middleweights of all time. Put him next to Monzon, Hagler, Greb & BHOP.
Golovkin was never hurt..
Ggg kept it simple; dominate Center with tight guard, pressure counter puncher is most difficult style to beat. Very good at cutting off ring and dictating high pace volume. Also most entertaining style for fans

Kell fought well here, but he couldn't match GGG strength. Kell landed a lot of good punched but those clean hits seem not bother GGG. This GGG version would dominate everyone include Canelo.

Great video. I remember thinking around that time that khan was looking great beating alexander at welterweight and shouldn’t have gone up to fight canelo. It should’ve been the big british showdown between brook & khan both in their primes.
This was the summer when we wanted Khan Vs Brook and Canelo Vs GGG, and instead we got Khan Vs Canelo and Brook vs GGG.... aaaargh!

Are used to work out with Willie Monroe Junior. I’m not a manager I was a private chef for him made some stuff for him doing training camp and I would always tell him I wish I was on his management team because he should have gotten more money then what he got because at that time nobody wanted to fight triple G
There is no boxer I'd rather watch than GGG.....a precision machine.
This fight is why I'll never care for Euwank. Dude lost his pen at the last minute and pulls out of the GGG fight. Brook walked away from, imo, an easy unification with Vargas and went straight at GGG. Brook had some good moments but GGG's jab, power, and chin are a nightmare for most middleweights let alone a career welterweight. Still all the respect to Kell for fighting 3 of the best of his era in GGG, Spence, and Bud
GGG is old. He was the #1 p4p at one time. People calling out a fighter after they're 40 are weak sauce suckers.

Kell brook was a decent counter puncher in his prime but ggg too tough

Triple G beat canelo twice, got robbed and then lost to him after his prime was over
I tell you what tho I respected brooks performance here then Charlos recent one against Canelo. Brook met GGG who was a monster at that time center of the ring and he went at it with him even if in hindsight taken the fight was a bad bad move because of the injury he got but he didn't go in there just looking to survive and secure the pay day he went and gave it a go. Dared to be great where as charlo just after the first round or two just thought nope I'm ducking an diving in this one
I liked Kell Brook's he was a terrific pressure fighter with good power, but this was "Triple G" and you know the rest. 😮,
